e-mail attachments (photos)

I have an e-mail account through Thunderbird and for the past week or so have not been able to open attachments (usually photographs). Any advice welcome.

Unable to open attachments

I receive email but when I need to open the attachment, I am unable to do so. It says it will open with Outlook but nothing.
