When i email to google, gmail ,hotmail i always get a failed post master reply this has been going on for months and i can't seem to resolve it. If I send through BT email they get the massages ?

It seems like forever that I have been waiting for access to Thundermail, which I originally thought was going to be opened more broadly in January.

I have signed up for the waiting list (I think multiple times) but have not received any updates on progress. Ever.

My own email accounts are in flux, having mostly moved off of Gmail (after Google discontinued pop3 support) and Outlook (after Windows updates trashed my computer and corrupted my mail files) and tried mailbox.org, zoho, and protonmail without being completely happy with any of them. So I have been using Thunderbird but anxiously awaiting Thundermail which I was hoping would give me a stable cloud platform reachable by all of my devices.

I am happy to be an early adopter and paid user and deal with the growing pains. Is there any idea when people will be allowed to sign up?

On my Windows 11 laptop, in Thunderbird v 148.0.1, I changed the entries for Accounts>"Your name" for all of my accounts. I then Tools>Export the settings to a file. It was reported as 1.97Gigs, and Krusader displayed it as 1.9Gigs.

On my Linux laptop, I imported the settings into Linux Thunderbird v 140.9.0esr (64-bit). It did not import the new names. When I attempted to edit them, Account Settings mode says "Account name already exists" and appends _2 to the account name.

I forgot to make a backup before I undertook this.

How can I fix this?

I have a folder that is set (via a quick-filter) to show only unread emails. Now when i mark an email as being read, it stays visible. Well, at least until I swap folders or toggle the filter on/off/on.

Why is this? Other email clients directly hide these emails.

I just installed Thunderbird on Linux Mint (version 22.2), when I launch the application it automatically logs into my email account on my Internet access provider. I do not want that. I want the way the old version started up: it opened my local folders on my local drive, listed previously down-loaded mail and on the left panel it listed the folders on my main (current) email account followed my the list of my other email accounts/names. The top menu let me (among other actions) select to download email to the local email directory. I do not want Thunderbird to automatically log onto my web account or sync my local directory to the online email account. When I want to read my email I want to select to download the mail from the server. When I want to access the online account I log onto it through my web host's cpanel tool.

My local hard drive has a thunderbird directory (in my home directly) from the previous Thunderbird version. It contains a subdirector labeled Mail, which contains a directory list of my email addresses, in addition to one labeled Local Folders. There is another subdirectory labeled Mail.sbd.

Is there a way the new version can be set up similar to the old version. The installed Thunderbird version is 140.9.0esr (64-bit)

How to verify the signature a incoming message with a OpenPGP signature?

I am getting the message that a part of the message might be signed. If I click on the button "open and display" there is a new window with the plain text of the whole message but the signature is not verified. What's wrong?

I installed Thunderbird 149.0 on Linux Mint 22.2 and I can't figure out if it's a release or a beta. On the downloads page, the "Release" section lists 148.0.1. The "Beta" section lists 149.0b4. The "Help - About Thunderbird Beta" window says "Release notes." I'm confused: what are these?

For each one, edit the DESCRIPTION field with the email address for that account. This ensures that each is named differently. 

At this point Account Names and Default Identities are correct for both accounts. However for the Outgoing Server (SMTP) the choice is between Use Default Server or Email address - mail.xxx.eu (default) (Not correct) I click Edit SMTP Server and change the Description to the other Email address - mail.yyy.eu. I now choose this server in the left window. This account is now correct. I go back to the first account. It now shows Description as mail.yyy.eu. This is wrong! The User Name only works with the same Email address as in the Description pane? Strange!? Why is the Description pane anyhow not called Email address when that is what should be keyed in here? Why have a User name pane if you are going to write the same as in the Description pane?

As I store all my contacts in a CarDav sync I have no need for a "Personal Address Book". It might even be a problem because accidentily stored addresses there are not synced. The "Delete" on the context menu is grey and cannot be selected. How do I permantely remove "Personal Address Book" from the list of contacts?

I succeed in create my addresses in thunderbird, except one, the principal of my address at Orange. They say, they recognized and then, when I click on the bottom Terminé, it's writed that there is a problem of "mot de passe" or address or "identifiant". At this part, for the others addresses, thunderbird add a linguee "identifiant" and I add a name, and after, it's OK.. But, for this address, there is no linguee "identifiant", and that don't work. I m using Linux Thunderbird 140.8.0esr Some emails have long unwrapped lines, how can i force a wrap boundary? e.g always wrap at 80 chrs or better yet, wrap to fit the viewing window

Originally I installed LINUX MINT Cinnamon 22.3 and all worked extremely well this was on JAN 5 2026, Installed a series of updates and everything was fine. Installed the last update and it changed everything from the font size and type of font to startup and now I have only use of one (1) display monitor whereas both were working without an issue before. Both are working fine and and are plug in properly and have power. I can not seen to add a second monitor. Please advise, thanks
