After a bit I use Thunderbird, my sent emails are not copied, out of nowhere. I need to kill thunderbird

and then it is fine for a few hours, until it happens again. This since weeks. The error I get is:

our message was sent but a copy was not placed in your sent folder (Sent) due to network or file access errors. You can retry or save the message locally to Local Folders/Sent-XXXX@XXXXXX.edu.

How can I solve it?

Since your last update, sending message by Thunderbird is problematic. When checking, the menu flashes quickly, out of all control. Impossible to cancel, send, correct. You can absolutely do nothing. After a while (2-3 minutes of this flashing and it's long...) The message is sent. Before updating, this problem did not exist. Please do the necessary to remedy this bug. Thank you for your help. I want my emails to be listed with the latest up top, and then chronologically. I have selected countless times "unthread emails" but it's not listing mails separately in chronological order. It's especially frustrating as I want Firebird to be a viable alternative.

Dual folders in Thunderbird: such as "Sent & Sent Mail", "Drafts and Drafts", "Bin and Deleted", "All Mail and Important", but the final answer in the earlier thread just doesn't work for me. How can I delete these annoying duplicated folders? I am using Gmail, and also a provider-specific email (BT.Com) and duplicate folders appear there, too: "Sent" and "Sent", "Deleted Items" and "Deleted", and "Unwanted". My computer crashed, but luckily I had a good backup. I had to reinstall thunderbird, which brought easily all my email back. However there were group lists in thunderbird that are gone. How can I retrieve them? The list would have had one name, but would have 20-50 people on the list. What to do?

Hi, I've been using Thunderbird for years. I have thousands of emails organized into folders based on at least 8 different email addresses. Today, all the mail from one of the folders disappeared, even though no intervention was made. The restore folder command didn't help either. The size shows 0 kb (it should contain many years of correspondence). I looked in the File explorer in the Profile folder, but both the cur and tmp folders are empty. It's not among the deleted items (of course I didn't delete them, I just checked there). I ran scandisk on the drive, no errors. I searched for email addresses in Thunderbird, it found emails from 2 years ago, but it could not display, it said "cannot be displayed". I have no more ideas. Please help me. Thanks.

I'm experiencing an issue with Thunderbird that started unexpectedly. Whenever I try to access my email, I get a warning message saying that "The site certificate is not valid for this server. Someone may be trying to impersonate the server. It is not recommended to proceed."

I'm not sure why this error has suddenly appeared, as everything was working fine before. I haven’t made any changes to my email settings or installed new software recently. Has anyone else encountered this issue or knows how to resolve it?

interesting behavior with a CalDaV calendar entry/date.

Scenario: Create a calendar-entry (date) with an alarm-setting (1h before...). Wait until the new entry is synced to the CalDAV server, in my case a Nextcloud. Close TB. Got to the Nextcloud calendar, or to and other client with that CalDAV Calendar, and remove the alarm, I do frequently in case the date paste... Start TB. After sync of the calendar, TB is telling you, that the date was changed at the server and asked "how to handle the detected conflict" (see screenshot). But 1. it isn't a conflict, just a normal change, which should change the local, "old" date 2. acting on the conflict resolution by pressing the button "Skip changes, load new" (Änderungen verwerfen und neu laden), I'm expecting to get the server version exchanging the local, old one... It does not: The local version will stay with the alarm. These date will not sync to server until TB is restarted. The alarm is now back on the server.

If the alarm is removed at the server (or on another client) while TB is running, the alarm is removed locally as "normal" change by synchronization...

I guess it is a bug!?

I'm using TB Version 128.4.3esr; build-id: 20241108210256 on Windows 11 (64bit). But this is also with TB under Linux (ubuntu, mint)

All my archived mail simply disappeared. I don't remember 'where' it was exactly because the layout seems to have been changed. It might have been in a 'Local Folders' that has its own 'archive', where I can now put new mail I want to archive. Or it might have been in the 'Archives' in the Unified Folder's list (an equal to Junk and Trash etc).

I have verified the login information is correct. I have reinstalled with 128.5.1 esr. I have been using Tbird for years, the only thing that has changed is Tbird is not working.

I am trying to set-up a filter that matches e-mails having all their contacts (sender, recipients, ...) from a single fixed domain (e.g. company.tld). It means that any e-mail having at least 1 contact (sender/recipient) not from company.tld would not trigger the filter. Is there a way to do this with standard Thunderbird filters? I also tried to use a regexp on the header with FiltaQuilla extension but it is not trivial.

I have an issue where, from one day to the next, one of my employees lost the "open thread in a new tab" option. This option was available when right-clicking on a message and then selecting "open/open thread in a new tab." The option no longer works in the "inbox" folder, but it does still work in individual subfolders.
