And a solution found that worked. Now Mozilla in their ludicrous wisdom have somehow screwed this up again. Anyone have a solution that works? I and lots of other people like the whole event title bar being a single colour. These 'dots' at the end are useless to see. Thanks PS Stop screwing with the settings. What to add something new, then create an add-on.

Let's start all over. Thunderbird automatically updated and I have lost all entries in my calendar. I have had help with solving my problem which have not worked. How do I launch the Thunderbird about.config? I have been told to go to TOOLS and select OPTIONS. There is no OPTIONS to select under the under the TOOLS menu. I have 3 calendars and all are shown as ENABLED. What did the update change and how do I get my entries back?

i tried to import a csv file from outlook.com to thunderbird, and all the values are in the wrong fields. E-mail addresses and names of every contact are in the wrong fields. For instance, if I have 100 contacts, I have to edit them individually in Thunderbird after importing the file. This is not helpful. Is there a way to convert the file so I don't have to do this? Please advise.

Since the latest upgrade to version 91 the Calendar has become unusable. To start with, after the update my main Calendar has completely disappeared taking with it very important upcoming appointments. In addition to that if I create an event all the data entered does not appear in the relevant day in the calendar and it will also not allow me to import any future events from other calendars.

To put bluntly, as a calendar it is totally useless. Any suggestions please?

[Nov 17 I deleted "TB78" from the subject line when I realised the problem goes back earlier.] ICS makes message text invisible!

I have an online booking system and I can send and receive email messages to and from my clients via this. These emails contain both a text message, plus an ICS of the appointment the message relates to. All was well until I updated to TB78. Previous TB would show me both the information in the ICS file in an unboxed freeform format, plus the vital text message from my client at the top of the screen.

Now that is broken. First - this bit is not broken, this is just different - the ICS appears in a blue box in a structured layout. And - BIG problem - the text message appears nowhere in the email, neither before, in or after the blue ICS box. Ie the point of the email, the actual message, is not shown!

The problem is with TB78. If I go back to emails from before TB78 in which I could previously read the message, the message has no longer displayed. And if I access any of these emails in webmail, they all have to the old freeform unboxed format and the message perfectly visible.

This looks very like a bug in TB78 and I hope can be fixed or a setting that changes it.

I upgraded to version 91 a while ago and the calendar invitations are not being set to me or the other invitees. I am currently at version 91.2.1 but this is the first calendar item with attendees. This has worked for years. I am on windows 10. I use the local Thunderbird calendar.

Hi all,

I'm trying to add a Google CalDAV calendar to my Thunderbird. I obtained the URL (of the form https://apidata.googleusercontent.com/caldav/v2/...@group.calendar.google.com/events), but when I try to add a network calendar nothing happens (see screenshot – spinner goes on endlessly).

I am using Thunderbird 91.0.3 on Mac; a friend of mine has experienced the same with Thunderbird 91 on Windows. When asking another friend, who uses Thunderbird 78, to try and add the same calendar, the interface was a little different (he had to explicitly mark it as CalDAV as opposed to iCal), and then he was redirected to a web browser to login to Google for authentication – I guess that's what should happen next, but for me it doesn't.

Note: I can also get an iCal URL for my calendar from Google, and adding this to Thunderbird 91 does work, but is not good enough, as it only grants me read-only access to the calendar.

I'll appreciate any help – thanks!

Events are currently displayed in the calendar & Today Pane with the corresponding calendar color filling the event banner and the category color only showing as a small sliver on the right side of the banner. Is there a way to reverse this display? I would prefer the event banner to be the category color with the calendar color as a small sliver. Screenshots attached.

Calendar Broken in Thunderbird 91 on Win10

I was on vers 78.12.0 and Thunderbird told me a new version was available. Since download and install from Thunderbird has never worked for me, I went to the Mozilla website, and did a download and install. The version that was available is 91.0.1. But now, Calendar which was working in 78 is no longer working. There are new Enable buttons on the left for the various potential sources of events for the calendar, but clicking on any of them has no effect in what is displayed in the calendar grid. If I close Thunderbird then reopen, what I previously selected to be Enabled is now disabled, and still no calendar grid.

Since it looks like upgrading to 91 was a mistake, I tried to reinstall vers 78, but I get an error message that the existing profile has been updated for the newer version, and that If I want to use the old version, I need to create a new profile and reload all my accounts, add-ins, etc. Wait, what? Why was the old profile not preserved and a new one created for the new version to allow for reverting back from a bad update?

BTW, I previously paid to support Thunderbird.

No calendar data showing after upgrade. calendar-data folder has local.sqlite which appears to be intact with all previous calendar info but nothing displays. I added a test event and it appears. The alert appears at the appropriate time but the alert cannot be dismissed. When I restart Thunderbird the calendar shows empty again but I can see that the new test event is present in local.sqlite. See error console below

Google suggests it's a developer issue. If so, is it jus a question of time until it can be fixed?

I'm running TB 91.5.0, with no other issues - and apart from the error Google Calendar is fine too.

My version of Thunderbird was upgraded to Version 91 on 9-29-2021 or9-30-2021. When I started my computer on 9-30 all of my calendar information was gone. I tried to input my daily schedule and that went fine. I then restarted Thunderbird to see if that would work all the information I had just input was gone.

The upgrade was automatic per your recommendation but now all of my calendar records are gone. Do you have any suggestions as to how I might be able to restore them? Also the first day of the upgrade, 9-30, the "today's pane" was there but on 10-1 it was not.

I'm getting an 'credentials not accepted' error when connecting my Google's universal contacts/birthday-calendar with CalDAV. This error occurred after upgrading Thunderbird to version 91.x.x in previous versions, maybe even an early version of 91.x.x I had no problem connecting the birthday calendar. All other (Google) calendars (also using CalDAV) work fine. I have this problem on two PC's both running Dutch Thunderbird 91-last version under Dutch Windows 10 Home-edition, also witl all the latest updates installed.

Steps to reproduce: Subscribe to the birthday calendar of my Google account. Note: As I'm using the Dutch localized versions, my translations can be different from the English menu-items.

Preparation in Google:

  • In your web-browser look up your Google 'Calendar-ID' (aka calid) which can be found in the online settings menu in Google calendar at: https://calendar.google.com/

Look for it in the 'Integrate calendar' section. (In Dutch: Zoek het Google 'Agenda-ID' op in het online 'Instellingen'-menu van Google agenda, te vinden onder de sectie: 'Agenda integreren'.);

in which <Calendar-ID> is your Google Calendar-ID in the steps below. More information at: https://developers.google.com/calendar/caldav/v2/guide

  • Note: Google's birthday calendars all have the same generic/universal 'Calendar-ID' and therefore URL. They are uniquely identified by the username (Gmail-address) logging in.

Steps in thunderbird for adding the BIRTHDAY calendar:

  1. Create new calendar;
  2. Select 'On the network', next;
  3. Input:
  1. Click: 'Search calendar' and provide your password when asked.

Actual results: The screen returns with an 'credentials not accepted' error. Not connecting to the birthday calendar. (The error in Dutch: 'De ingevoerde referenties werden niet geaccepteerd. Controleer uw instellingen'.) Screenshot included.

Expected results: Connecting my birthday calendar in Thunderbird.

What I did/also tried:

  • I removed all my Google calendars and had no issue reconnecting them again. Except for the birthday-calendar;
  • I tried to put the birthday-calendar in read only mode by adding '.readonly' at the end of the URL. See the links provided in the preparation;
  • Turned off all my addons with no effect;
  • I reinstalled Thunderbird on one of my PC's, actually I reinstalled the full PC. Without result;
  • Posted bug ID 1746395 without result.

I checked.. * Questions:

* Bugs:

  • 1682177 connecting to two birthday calendars;
  • 1735525 connecting to a calendar shared with a Google account in Google itself;
  • 1737414 connecting to a Google calendar using a Google account without Gmail.

I used to keep my version of Thunderbird up to date until a few years ago when it removed my calendar link. I currently have version 52.6.0 installed, because that was the last version that didn't detach my to Google Calendar. Is that still the case or can I update Thunderbird without losing my calendar data?
