My emails were all working (accounts were setup fine). Then, recently, when I opened Thunderbird, the main area (where my messages are displayed) is empty. If I choose another folder, still empty. BUT, the folders all say that there are messages in them (see the attached screenshot)
I have tried the following... 1. Opening Thunderbird in Troublshooting mode: This works, and the messages appear. But I don't want to have to open troubleshooting mode every time. 2. I have ZERO extensions installed, so asking to disable them obviously wont do anything. 3. I have tried to repair the folders (I have tried to repair the default inbox folder, and then tried to repair them all ... nothing worked). 4. I have backed up my thunderbird files, and tried reinstalling Thunderbird. Still didn't work. 5. Any other suggestions?

Unable to send any emails although all the server settings are correct have the attached dialogue box come up see screenshot. suspect this is not directly a prob with Thunderbird as was having problems with some undelivered email with outlook.

I have used Thunderbird to group my 4 email accounted in one place for a very long time. However, it has now stopped working and I do not know why. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the program, same problem, I've ran troubleshooter, and it says "no problem" one time, then says "wrong config" another time but the results is I can't use it. Hi, Thunderbird keep creating copies of various sub folders and naming them sequentially. This is happening on different devices but to different accounts on different devices. For example, on my Dell laptop I now have 8 copies of the inbox for one of the accounts named inbox -1, inbox-2..through to inbox-9. These all seem to be complete duplicates all starting on 1/1/24 although with different end dates depending on when TB created the copy. On this same device, it has also created 7 copies of an inbox called PFC. again -1 through to -7 but, and this is where it gets weird, these sub folders, like the original, are all in Local Folders! I can delete these but they just keep coming back. Any suggestions? Thanks Chris

I had some email gmail updates I ignore cause 'm not in gmail (to my knowledge. I use local company (DRN) and Thunderbird / Mozilla. I'm not read techy and everything I click asks for a different password - which none of them word. I am ready to uninstall Thunderbird and go with gmail only. My time is as valluable as yours and I have spent half a day trying to get emails others have sent and I have not received.

HI, I have TBird 102.15.1 64Bit installed on several different PCs and laptops. On my main Laptop I checked the Roaming\Thunderbird folder properties and found the following: Size on Disk: 35.8 GB Contains 253,172 files and 1,533 Folders. Is their anyway I can reduce the size? My TBird seems to be running slowly and occasionally stalls. I do not want to switch back to Outlook client program, I am not a Microsoft supporter. I do know I could move mail to local folders but would that mean I could only access them from one machine? Thanks.

Since the latest Thunderbird release I've noticed the client has really slowed, especially when sending email. I used to be able to click Send and a few seconds later my email, including attachments, was sent. Now I sit and wait for up to a minute while the T-bird spinner spins and then eventually sends the email. Even the smallest email with no attachments takes longer.
I understand you want to continue to make Thunderbird better. I've been a programmer for 30 years myself. But I also understand that just because you can do a thing with software doesn't always mean you should do it. To the best of my knowledge the email server I use has not changed. So I put the blame on Thunderbird.
Email clients are supposed to send and receive email, period. Trying to turn Thunderbird into a one-stop shop is not a good idea. There are many of us out here who don't use Outlook specifically for that reason. You had a great client up until this last release. See if you can get it back.
