When I click Get Messagesitalic text' the counter displayed 30 new messages being downloaded, bold textBUT bold text' only three we displayed in the IN BOX.

I could not find any (27) other new ones. My ISPs server had all 30.

Please help. THANKS

In order to index Thunderbird Emails in Copernic Desktop Search software, I need to install the “Thunderbird Connector for Copernic Desktop Search” in the Add-on and Themes menu. Unfortunately this Ad-don doesn’t seem to exist. Can you please suggest a solution?

My email messaging seems to be set at a defined format with double spacing. I prefer to use single spacing but in order to do this I have to type all the way to the end of the page and then it will automatically go to the next paragraph and will then use single spacing. I would really like to be able to format my emails with single spacing and different margins other than what I have to use now (i.e.using the entire width of the message). I cannot find any way to change this automatic double spacing and change the width of the paragraph at the same time. From the drop down list directly above the body of the message, I have tried changing from Body Text to Paragraph and back again, but nothing works. Thanks very much for your help.

P. S. I am using Windows 10 with Thunderbird version 128.4.2 esr. I had the same problem in more recent versions but not in older versions.

Postbox having been sold to eM Client, I need to migrate to Thunderbird. Import worked pretty well using the protocol "migrating from a previous Thunderbird installation" however the filters did not import at all. It happens that I have 320 of them, so it would be a great help if some automatic procedure could be implemented. Is this possible? Thanks in advance. Regards, Gérald

Just spent a couple of frustrating hours on what should be a 2-minute task, and hoping someone can point me the right way. I manage a bunch of mailing lists for a small non-profit. Just got a group of new email addresses. I need to add them to a new mailing list, then after I've verified that they're valid and that the people do in fact want to get these emails, merge them into at least two of the existing mailing lists. I have them in a CSV file. First problem was finding where "create a mailing list" had moved - no longer on File - New in Address Book (why, by the way? That's the logical spot for it.). Then found that there's no way to import a file of addresses into a mailing list - they can only be imported into an address book. Ok, I'll import into a new address book, then create a mailing list, then drag and drop the contacts from the new address book into the new mailing list (which is both what I'd have expected to work, and what a support article I found said). Not what I wanted, because the new mailing list will be under the new address book, which is not where it needs to be, but I'll deal with that later. Nope - doesn't work. I can select any of or all the contacts, I can drag them, but everywhere on the panel has the "not permitted" symbol *except* another address book, which does me no good at all. Ok, try creating a new mailing list where I actually want it to be, then cutting and pasting the names and addresses from another file. Nope, can't find any way to cut and paste 2 fields into a mailing list in edit mode and have the data go where it needs to be, even a single contact, much less a bunch of them. It seems bizarre that something as fundamental as mailing lists would be as difficult to use as it seems, so I'm hoping I've missed something obvious. Currently on 128.7.0, BTW - I usually let TB update whenever it asks. Windows 10 on that box, but also pretty up to date.

I've read the original query from romanroad (4/23/24) and the replies, which related to Gmail. I have the same problem but with a slightly different set-up, which those replies don't cover. My query relates to Thunderbird 128.5.1esr (64-bit) using IMAP to link with Outlook emails. A reply from sfhowes - 4/24/24, 10:26 AM said [with my numbering] [1] "Right-click the account in the Folder Pane, Subscribe..., uncheck the Sent folder and check the Sent Mail folder." [2] "Also, make the change in Copies & Folders in Account Settings

re [1] When I Right-click the account in the Folder Pane, Subscribe..., I can uncheck the Sent folder BUT there is no Sent Mail folder. (Folders are Archive, Deleted (with subfolder POP), Drafts, INBOX, Junk, Notes, Outbox and Sent [as well as 3 personal folders].) Both Outbox and Sent were checked. If I uncheck the Sent box, leaving Outbox checked, the Sent folder empties completely; if I then check it again, it refills all the sent messages from years back (presumably from Outlook because of IMAP.) re [2] In Account Settings I had unchecked the "Place a copy in:" option - but am still getting duplicates. I do want a copy of what I have sent - just not two of everything.

Following a switch off and restart triggered I think by a Windows update, Thunderbird is not displaying any messages in my Inbox, though it is showing the number of messages in the Inbox title bar. 'Drafts' and 'Sent' all display correctly, but the 'Inbox' is blank with a grey icon of an envelope and the statement: "No message found". I am an IT novice. I looked on the 'help' pages. I have checked that no filters are set. I have right-clicked on the 'Inbox' title to display the menu with 'properties' at the bottom. I have clicked on that to bring up the dialog box with the "Repair" icon. It shows 'Inbox' in the 'Name' box but I note that the 'Location' box is blank. Presumably it should not be. Presumably it should show either the location of locally stored messages on my hard drive, or the location of the messages on the email server. I am not sure which. I have found the directory on my hard drive where I believe the messages are stored locally. The size of the file suggests to me that they are all there. The periodic 'Checking for new messages' is happening, but nothing is displaying, though a check via webmail shows that new messages are arriving on the server. What should I do to get my Inbox to display correctly? With many thanks, Iain

My Ubuntu computer's network interface has failed. I need to address that. Before doing so, possibly with an OS re-install, I need to export my (thunderbird) email.

Since my configuration is 2.9GB (i.e, > 2GB), I can't use the zip file. So I have rsync'd the email profile to a USB stick.

I want to import this into a clean new thunderbird location on another Ubuntu machine. I can find no way for Tb to import the copied files. Going through the documented procedure, Import Tool -> Import from another Tb installation -> Choose a profile folder -> "Import failed unexpectedly, more information may be available in the Error Console."

Where is the Error Console? I must be doing something simple and wrong. What is it? Or should I give up on Tb completely?

I have used Thunderbird for decades with no problem. On a new Windows 11 machine, though, I am having a problem. I am running 128.4.2esr (64-bit) and just reinstalled it, but keeping the profile folder.

When I start Thunderbird, it should open to mail, specifically a unified inbox and various other mailboxes below. Instead, usually, it is blank. Other reopened tabs correctly display their title and content. See screenshot.

Thunderbird works correctly if I start it in troubleshooting mode, but at this point my few add-ons are disabled. (Quicktext, Compact Headers, dark theme.) See screenshot, lightly redacted.

With Thunderbird running, in its bad mode, selecting "mail" brings up the same blank page. Also, "calendar" shows a correct list of my calendars but will not display their content. However, "address book" works, showing my address book correctly.

If I am lucky or patient -- waiting for the mail tab to potentially come to life -- Thunderbird occasionally works and, if it does, stays fine for days, as long as I don't close it. What could be going on and what should I try doing?

I got a new PC with Windows 11. I installed Thunderbird, activated the private calendar, and entered events there. For events with a reminder that have a specific duration (e.g., Wednesday from 10 AM to 11 AM), I receive notifications. However, when I create a full-day event and want to be reminded, for example, 1 day before, I don't receive any notification. Additionally, events with a reminder are not shown in bold in the calendar overview (whether they have a specific duration or are all-day events). Can you please help me?

Hi, Having a problem with TB that started on April 9th. It stopped retrieving from my POP3 account that was transferred to Yahoo from Cox Communications 2 years ago. Our IMAP accounts have no problems. I CAN send emails, and the new messages do show on the web portal. My phone can also receive messages. on my PC TB tries for about 10 minutes to get the messages, then shows an error message "The DELE command did not succeed, error marking a message as deleted. Mail server pop.mail.yahoo.com responded too many requests". For a couple of weeks I found some messages never downloaded (most did) but now I get none. Interestingly today when it happened I would hear the audio announcement for the account there was mail, but none showed. Server settings are what is specified, tried restarting in Troubleshoot mode to no effect, and updated TB to next version. Still stuck. Any help is appreciated!

p.s. Just to complicate more, Windows did an update dated April 8, installed sometime on April 9.

Solution found: I found a year-old backup of my TB profile and replaced the existing one with it (after first copying the existing one for safety). That worked, except ALL messages were downloaded again. It appears every time TB tried to access messages it started at the beginning, so there were multiple copies of each old one to delete. A small price to pay for getting TB back online. So the problem was a corrupted profile, reason unknown.
