I have 3 emails addresses being utilized on my 1 Thunderbird setup.

When I try and send from any address but the original one I set up I get this message:

Sending of the message failed. An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: <davet102@roadrunner.com> sender rejected. The email address you are sending as must match the email address you used to auth. Please check your SMTP settings. AUP#Out-1500. Please verify that your email address is correct in your account settings and try again.

I understand what it is saying. I just do not know where to fix it. I have gone into the outgoing SMTP settings and my original email address is in there. How do I set it up so that the other email addresses can send from their email addresses?

Can't create password for incoming POP email

I have Thunderbird set up with two email accounts. Until today I han problems with outgoing or incoming email and had saved passwords. All worked fine. Then I had to change my internet modem and somewhere along the line my incoming password for one of the two email accounts got deleted. No idea how. So I went into Settings and deleted all saved passwords. After that I sent a test email for both accounts and was able to re-save my passwords. But when I "Get Email" for either account, nothing happens. No email arrives (there are new emails on both accounts if I check via webmail). But I also am never prompted to save a password for incoming email (mail.comcast.net) for either account.

Why isn't Thunderbird prompting me to save the incoming password, and how can I manually enter a password? I'm baffled and at wit's end.

i already have spam detector through my cPanel at my webhost and another junkmail detector in antivirus/malware program on my desktop

i don't need firefox diverting legit emails that get through the earlier detectors.

I updated my comcast password recently. Now when I try to send an email I get error about password - dialog comes up one option being reset password. When I click this I expect a dialog to open allowing me to enter the correct password but nothing happens.

I went to saved password dialog and removed the entries there hoping that would force Thunderbird to ask me for password - no joy.

In the Beta version how do I update SMTP password? I do not want to recreate the profile because then I lose lots of stuff - I JUST want to update the SMTP password. None of the pages I find are helping me.

Hi there, my hard disk failed and with a new hard disk I am trying to reconnect Thunderbird so I can get my emails on the laptop. But I can't remember my password and on the login page for emails I can't find an option to request password reset. Please help, don't want to have to stop using Thunderbird

Hello, Thunderbird crashed and asked me to send a crash report. My question is not about the crash or bug itself, I rather care about my data. I accidentally clicked on Submit and later read that it contains "Sensitive Data" as in a raw dump of the state of my E-Mail client. As far as I've read people can have access to this over the web (via crash-stats.mozilla.org/ I pressume)

Question: Can I have my crash-report removed/withdrawn? I don't want to have the possibility of personal data, passwords, etc. on the internet.

Tbird help page said go to settings>security>passwords>[highlight affected account]>delete. Then close & reopen Tbird. You will be prompted to sign in. In TB 115.1.0 (64-bit) on Windows digital signature are maked as not valid for an unknown reason. This happens at least with emails send from Outlook clients. In TB 102.14.0 (64-bit) on Windows this digital signatures were shown as valid. However, digitsal signatures of emails send from other clients (e.g. Thunderbird, Nine from 9folders) are shown as valid.

Thunderbird is identifying all mail from the New York Times as Spam

All messages I receive from "nytdirect@nytimes.com" are being identified as spam. I have added this address to "collected addresses" and enabled the option in junk mail settings but it still is identified. My DKIM extension reports that DKIM is valid and signed by NY Times. SPF is a pass and DMARC is a pass. I have enabled adaptive junk filtering and each time it comes in I click the "not junk" button.

I have enabled the adaptive junk filter logging but the log is always empty. Messages from other sources seem to be ok. My messages are being forwarded to me from DYNU's message forwarding service.

Any suggestions on what I can do will be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Hello, after updating to the latest version of Thunderbird 115, there is a problem that during the print preview, unnecessary free space is generated (an email normally has 3 pages in the reading view, and on the printout there are 6 pages, including 3 almost empty). I am attaching an example of an e-mail that does not contain personal data but there are unnecessary spaces.

In Thunderbird 1153.1 (MacOS), it appears that the "Delete" button next to the header information on a message whose content display is blocked per privacy settings is applied not to that individual message but rather to the folder containing it. There's (fortunately!!) a confirmation dialog warning that that entire folder would be deleted unrecoverably, but it seems non-intuitive and dangerous that the button's scope should change depending on the content display status. When the content is displayable, the button applies only to the individual message, as I'd expect.
