After making some alterations to google account to use phone for credit card use. I started my Thunderbird email client to deal with my mail. i received email as normal and was able to delete unrequired mail as required. However those I wanted to file and place copies in local boxes no longer worked. I instead go a notice saying sign in with Google failed 400 error.(cannot process request malformed)

Will my Thunderbird account stay open with Cox's new platform? I have had a Thunderbird email for at least 15 years and do not want to change to Yahoo as Cox is trying to implement. I am presently getting messages but want to know if I will continue to get ALL of my email if I leave things alone. Please help me.

Hi, 3 weeks ago I suddenly could not log in to my email without errors.

First I get a Google screen "Choose an account" showing the three Gmail accounts I use. I select the first one.

"Mozilla Thunderbird wants to access your Google Account". This refers to calendars. I take the Allow option.

Then I get the message "Warning: Potential Security Risk Ahead

Thunderbird detected a potential security threat and did not continue to localhost. If you visit this site, attackers could try to steal information like your passwords, emails, or credit card details."

When I close this window I get another Google screen .

This process cycles through the other two emails. Then I get and authentication failure message.

I have seen hints that this might be a certificate issue but I have tried in vain to find certificates stored in Thunderbird.

Any help approeciated.

I have Cox.net as my email, a few years ago I switched to Thunderbird, I like it so much better.. But now Cox.net is moving their web base to yahoo mail, yet still using my original email bjacob3@cox.net.. So I had to go to yahoo and set up my original email thru them and change password for them.. Yet even tho I won't go thru yahoo, I still want my thunderbird to work.. I notice now that I still can get to my thunderbird mail, like I always do, yet I don't see any new mail coming in.. what do I do?

I have a problem with my T-Online account.

Thunderbird ESR 115.11.0

Windows 11

As soon as I open Thunderbird, all 8400 mails in the account are deleted.

Only the mails from yesterday and today are still there. The account also works - sending and receiving.

Other accounts (Gmail and Strato ) are ok.

Have copied an offline backup of the account to TB - as soon as I go online the mails are deleted again.

Copying and moving the mails offline to a local folder does not work either.

TB first tries to establish a connection to the server - which of course doesn't work offline.

Would hate to reinstall as there are a lot of local folders.

I'm at a bit of a loss - thanks for your help

Cox has moved its email from its servers to Yahoo and while the "cox.net" stays the same I am not able to get my email through Thu Thunderbird as there are 2 places in the account Server settings that need to be changed, 1) Server name, and 2) Local Directory. I have had no luck in changing either as I really don't know what to put in either one. HELP11

Where are by Thunderbird gmails stored? I am running two email server programs right now (Outlook and Thunderbird). Outlook stores gmail in the cloud and there are thousands of them, Naturally I do not want TBird to store all emails on my hard drive but I am told they are on my hard drive. If so this will eat up ALL my disc space. Where does TBird store my emails? If on my drive then how to I control how many are saved there and what will saved in the gmail cloud?

On opening Tbird I have started getting a Google pop up asking me to sign in to Google to continue to Tbird. This is just annoying as I can access all my email accounts without signing in to Google. I just have to close the annoying pop up every time I open Tbird. How can I stop this happening?

Upon startup, top email displayed is the 2nd email present in the inbox. If 1st email is one at top when leaving TB, next startup will show the 2nd email on top. You can then scroll up and see the top one. Likewise, if a new email come in, it also shows the one below that as the top one and must scroll up to see it. No emails are lost, just a display thing. Don't recall which version this started, but it didn't use to do this.

I changed my BT email password but cannot send emails from Thunderbird. I can receive them. I receive this message - Unable to authenticate to Outgoing server (SMTP) mail.btinternet.com. Please check the password and verify the 'Authentication method' in 'Account Settings | Outgoing server (SMTP)'. I have checked my outgoing server settings which are -

My BT email works fine for both receiving and sending so the problem is with Thunderbird outgoing mail settings

Cox has recently given their email to yahoo. While the cox.net email works on yahoo mail when I tried to configure my cox.net email address on tbird mail it failed Will my cox.net email address once again work on tbird mail Thank you

Hello, I own and operate my own business in the automotive repair sector however my direct computer knowledge is not sufficient in many cases. My issue is that my Gmail and Thunderbird is linked to send messages to my clients for estimate purposes. Incoming mail to Gmail as well as outgoing from Gmail gets copied into Thunderbird. Assuming that Thunderbird had so many emails on the screen I asked the internet on how to do a mass email delete. Now I assume "that" is the reason why all my labels/folders are now empty I can both Gmail and Thunderbird? These folders held important invoices, contact information and just important information for me to go back into should a situation require it. How do I recover all of my deleted messages in Thunderbird? Will this repopulate the folders with my missing information?? The individual who set it up for me is an expert in the field however I am unable to make any contact with him. He's not responding to any of my messages or calls. Please help. Now please remember I am very ignorant when it comes to this type of experience. Please provide me with the most elementary explanations for this recovery process. Good news For some months now, I have stayed on a much earlier version of 115. Today I updated to the latest available... no issues arising so I happily conclude that Tbird is stable.
