Login to server smtp-mail.outlook.com with username XXXXXX@outlook.com failed.

I am having this error I have tried logging back in, can download mail but not send any. Any ideas? Thank you

Having tried all solutions I can find on the web nothing works. Computer is new windows 10 with only edge and thunderbird.. My other established computer windows 11, established thunderbird with yahoo and Plusnet working ok but outlook keeps failing despite test connections working and message from Microsoft saying thunderbird has accessed my outlook account. I am trying to connect my Outlook email hosted by Godaddy so I can send/receive on Thunderbird. Godaddy said that the problem was on Thunderbird's end. I have attached the error message that pops up when i try to load email. E-mail is mike@watershedguardians.org

Hello.I just want to let you know,that somehow the client what i uzsdeing is forget to make undread massages to read when i takea look at them.When i double clivck on them they open a diffferent page and then they get read status.What could cause this?

Why is thunderbird constantly coming up with an authentification failure while trying to connect to outlook.office365.com every time i try to access my hotmail emails? this is becoming painful last week zero access to hotmail then worked for a few days now nothing again.

I've been using TB for many years, and without warning, when it tries to down load my mail from the Proton mail server, it says it can't find the folder "Inbox". I've tried to "repair" that folder a couple times unsuccessfully. I've restarted the TB program a couple times, but nothing changes. The error shows up on the bottom "instruction line". I've gone through all my settings and find nothing amiss. Not sure where to go from here. -- Just noticed that I had about 80 emails in that Inbox folder that are now missing completely. Normally, I move read emails to there respective folders, and leave important ones in the Inbox for followup. One significant note here, is I'm still using Win 7 premium. I have about a dozen accounts with over 50 folders, most with a matching filter. About 100k messages, taking up about 1G of disk space. All but one account is merged under my Inbox to have fewer duplicate In/Draft/Sent boxes eating up window space. I'm using 152.0.1 (aarch64) Release branch on a Mac OS X 26. All are POP accounts on a DreamHost server.

At some point it started to show the draft message on every email, which means on incoming as well. I've had this phenomenon for years.

Recently filtering has started to not automatically run on some emails forcing me to run the filters manually. I've run the repair folder options which does not seem to make any difference.

Since switching to macOS 26 it also does not allow me to move Thunderbird child windows, they simply show up on the default location. But that's for another ticket.

I have an hotmail.com account with no problems whatsoever while logging into Apple Mail, G-Mail etc. but when it comes to Thunderbird it does not let me login. I tried to login first to outlook itself, changing the servers ports etc. but nothing works.

For refrence my current server settings are: Incoming (IMAP): Server: outlook.office365.com Port: 993 Security SSL/TSL and OAuth2

Outgoing (SMTP): Server: smtp.office365.com Port: 587 Security: STARTTLS with OAuth2

Unfortunately I could not add a screenshot to this message. Under my account belonje24@zonnet.nl there is a "Postvak IN". This means inbox. In this inbox should new mails appear. Right now there comes nothing in it. However, two lines below there is suddenly another "Postvak IN 22". New emails appear here now. I already tried to drag this inbox into the inbox under belonje24@zonnet.nl but that doesn't work.

New emails now appear with a yellow bar: The text in the yellow bar at the bottom says: (I translated)

No unique identity was found matching the sender address. The message will be sent using the sender field and the settings of the identity Martin Belonje <belonje24@zonnet.nl>.

To my opinion this has to do with the fact that the inbox has moved from its original position.

I hope you can help me out.

I'm currently using the thunderbird client to open a zoho mail account. I've set several filters (around 40) so that incoming emails are automatically redirected to the appropiate folder. If I click on the download/refresh icon (the little cloud with the downwards arrow), new email isn't received. On the bottom, a small message appears ("No new messages on the server" or something like this). You may think that that is precisely because I don't have new emails but if directly go into any of the folders and once again click on the download/refresh icon all of the emails that were supposed to go into that particular folder appear all at once (even mails that are 2 or 3 days old). Now every day I have to go into all of my 40 folders and click on the refresh button.

On Saturday morning 27 June 2026 I tried to login my Orcon email account via Thunderbird (which I have been using for a long time). But my login didn't work, I got a message saying "login to POP3.orcon.net.nz with username habitation failed." On 30th June 2026 I reported the problem to Orcon.

Orcon gave me the following settings for Thunderbird. I have done that and even made a new account: Incoming Server Type: IMAP Mail Server: imap.orcon.net.nz Port: 143 SSL: Off Authentication: On (username and password required)

Outgoing SMTP Server: Mail Server: smtp.orcon.net.nz Port: 25 SSL: Off Authentication: Off

Since then I have spent many hours and going around in circles with Orcon's Technical Support to resolve this, but no luck. They blame Thunderbird. I used Thunderbird Troubleshoot Mode. The message that comes up reads: login to server mail orcon.net.nz with username habitation failed. Please can you check that your server settings above are correct? And if there is a bug? Irma
