I set up message filters to run automatically on my inbox as the messages come in. They don't work. I've searched all kinds of solutions, read and tried the solutions posted here, followed the steps...they don't run. What am I missing?

Certain emails disappear and stop appearing in Thunderbird. I received an email that I read, but it disappeared after a few minutes. Resending the email causes the inbox to light up, indicating that an email has arrived, but there's no email in any folder. Antivirus/ISP software isn't blocking the network in any way; I can see these emails normally on the email website, but not in Thunderbird app.
When I try to send an e-mail to my son's gmail account it is blocked saying the sender is unauthenticated. Error message says "Gmail requires all senders to authenticate … (читать ещё)
When I try to send an e-mail to my son's gmail account it is blocked saying the sender is unauthenticated. Error message says "Gmail requires all senders to authenticate with either SPF or DKIM." What's the fix for this?
The Send icon does not show up as I am trying to send an email. Can’t send my emails that I create. How do I reinstall a send button on the screen.

I am having an issue with retrieving my email in Thunderbird. On laptop, using Version 140.2.0esr | Released August 19, 2025. No changes were made to Thunderbird settings. The email is showing up in the Comcast portal, but for now having it forwared to a Gmail account. Tried changing password in Comcast (and in Thuderbird) to no effect. Tried deleting my Comcast email account in Thunderbird and re-adding it, but no change. Can send out email fine, just receiving it is the issue.
Interestingly, I use BlueMail on my phone and it, too, has the same issue and will not retrieve from Comcast. Thanks in advance!

I keep getting this message "Unable to write the email to the mailbox. Make sure the file system allows you write privileges, and you have enough disk space to copy the mailbox." every time I log in, try to delete an email that has already downloaded, and every time I click get messages to download messages.
No messages have been downloaded since two days ago. I did go on the web version of my email and deleted all emails from that time period in case there was a virus so it's not that. I strangely started when I ignored the compact folder message sever times. I did however try to compact the folder from the file menu, as well as cleared the cash and emptied the trash.
I made sure I had the latest update as well. I am thinking the software is corrupt at this point.

The messages are on the proton webmail inbox ok, and are received by the proton mail app on my phone. I have not changed any settings, and it worked perfectly before now

I am unable to send an original email right now with Thunderbird. I realize "original" is not the best descriptor but what I am trying to describe is if I compose an email to another party, Thunderbird tries to send it and immediately returns the message below even if I send the word Test in the subject line and as the one word text message:
Send Message Error Sending of the Message failed An error occurred while sending email. the mail server respnded: [VO-1] Message blocked due to spam content in the message. Please check the messge and try again.
I have tried multiple email recipients with the same results.
However, if I take an email currently in my Inbox and Forward it to another recipient, it sends it with no error.
Thanks for your help. I am sure I have done something I should not have but I cannot think of what it was.

I recently installed Thunderbird on a new Windows 11 PC. I am using Thunderbird 128.11.0esr on another machine and it works properly. I attempted to clone my 128 setup onto the new machiine by copying the Profile folder without success. Some settings were transferred, enough so that the inbox was filling with my emails. I tried to send a message. It failed with the message: "Sending of the message failed The message could not be send because the connection to Outgoing server (SMTP) smtp.gmail.com times out. Try again" As far as I can tell the SMPT server settings are exactly the same on the two setups: Description: Gmail Port: 587 Connection security: STARTTLS Authentication methon: OAuth2 Username TMerrillH Sending GMail using the GMail app works properly. Could it be something in the OAuth2 system?
My write message format is not offering me the toolbar and so I am unable to send any messages. Please can you help soonest. Do you have a telephone number?
