Could you please tell me how to how to add existing mail account to Thunderbird? I could not find "existing mail account" in the [new] which is [file] in the top Bar. Also, there is no "Add mail account" button.

App version is latest one. waiting for your reply.

After upgrade to Eclipse I have problem with one mailbox (there is 5 mailboxes). It is not showing folders, only inbox and no messages inside (on server is no problem). No sync problems notification.

I was trying to delete this problematic account and oops - there is button "account actions" missing in the account settings (see picture).

So two issues found.

Any idea, firstly with deleting account?

Hi, I have googled this and been into the Thunderbird Help section and cannot find an answer. I am having trouble with one of my email accounts, I want to delete it and it and reinstall it. I get to the point in the process where it says to click on Remove Or Remove account but there is no tab or button that is visible to do this. Help here would be greatly appreciated. Regards Mark

Dear Support I am adding Thunderbird to a new computer. Setting up, it asks to import from a file. I specify the .profile I stored. It says it added all the files, and finds al email accounts. But when trying to add the Startmail email account to Thunderbird, it fails with message "Unable to login at server. Probably wrong configuration, username or password. I can login (for example) to my startmail email address through Startmail.com on Firefox.

I'm trying to add another account to my Thunderbird client (already have 2, a IMAP account, and a Hotmail/Live/Outlook), but i keep getting the error "Exchange auth error" and no possible way to manually configure the server or anything, despite the mail server not being an exchange server. Following this, it just freezes the view, although i can close the popup by pressing escape.

is this a bug in the most current version of Thunderbird, or am i doing something wrong?

New user: I installed Thunderbird and selected POP. Everything went fine during setup including message from Microsoft

Microsoft account New app(s) have access to your data Thunderbird connected to the Microsoft account W********@outlook.com.

When I click on done I receive the following:

Hi, I am unable to add another email account. I go to "Add email account", an "Account Hub Add your email address window" opens. I enter my name and the email address and press "Continue". A message "Looking up configuration" appears, then the box dims and a spinning circle appears. That's it. It doesn't go any further. I've tried closing out, rebooting, installing the most recent version of Thunderbird to no avail.

i have pop3 account and unchecked leave on server - but greyed and checked out is a 'leave for a maximum' which i have as 1 day, there doesnt seem to be an option to uncheck this? I dont want them on the server which is why i chose pop account. yet when i open web account, the emails already downloaded using the pop account are still there even thoug they were downloaded days ago. Why is this and how do stop this? is there a 'leave copy on server' box to uncheck that I am missing? i want to use pop to remove from server and just use locally but its not doing what i thought it would, which is remove from setver. Also it keeps repeating downloading from years ago so I was hoping that when the server synced it would stop downloading the ones it has already (mulitple times) I made an imap account to try to sort emails that way but it also shows old emails still on server. Should i delet this imap account as I already have a pop account running? Very confused. Help figuring out what to do appreciated.

I have a working Thunderbird email account on a windows 10 computer. I recently bought a new windows 11 computer and downloaded Thunderbird from the Thunderbird site. I installed it on the new computer and tried setting up my email. It fails in auto and manual setup. Since I have a working account on the windows 10 computer, I should be able to look at the settings and transfer them to the new computer. I am 76 years old and have a difficult time with today's technology. If someone can assist me, I would be grateful and co-operate fully. Thank you.

My email (bnmalm@att.net) was associated with the Name "Christmas family." Now, when I send an email from bnmalm@att.net it displays "Christmas family" instead of "Bruce Malm" as it should. I cannot fix this.

It says my sbcglobal.net settings are out of date. Pops up once a day. HOw do I update my settings for [edited from public] @sbcglobal.net?

My name is Chris and I’ve been struggling for the past 3 days to add my Gmail account into Mozilla Thunderbird, and it’s become urgent. My computer often crashes and freezes, so I deleted my Gmail from an earlier version of Thunderbird and reinstalled the latest version.

When I try to add the account, Thunderbird just says “Looking up configuration of my Gmail” and never completes the setup. Oddly enough, I was able to add the same Gmail account into Outlook without any issues.

Is there something wrong with Thunderbird’s automatic server configuration for Gmail?

On top of that, I’d like to download all my past Gmail emails (sent items and inbox storage) into Thunderbird, but I don’t know the correct manual settings to use.

Any guidance on fixing the account setup and the proper manual IMAP/POP settings would be greatly appreciated.

In account setup There is an error: "Incoming Server already exist"

Damn bloody right it already exists. Or do I need to specify servers that don't exist. Just make one up or so ?

I keep getting this error message. I have checked all my setting but find no problem. The error/warning I get is as follows: Thunderbird, The IMAP server Kingston does not seem to support encrypted passwords. If you just set up this account, please try changing to :Normal password" as the Authentication method in the account setting... It stops there. When I send, it does not want to save to my sent file, and I get this warning all the time. I went to settings and SMTP server has "Normal password" in the settings. I have restarted several times but no luck. Ideas? Solution? Help!!
