I recently installed Thunderbird on my devices and PC. I used the auto config and it said all was good. But I just found out that none of my email is actually going out. I checked the outgoing settings and they all look good compared to what my provider has listed, but when I finish the manual setting it says it can't connect to port 465 I contacted my provider and they said talk to Thunderbird you have an old version. But it isn't old.

Update: I installed Thunderbird on my new PC with the same settings and it works, but the installed apps on my Android devices don't

I got GREAT instructions from "David" just a few minutes after posting my question (Thanks, much, David : ). I followed his directions and was able to transfer LOTS of emails to a second computer. But the emails are from 2020-2021. The computer I copied the roaming file from goes up to today, 11/29/2024. How can I a get all the emails from 2021 up to 2024 installed on the second computer? So I want a different menu from the default top line menu. I can get the line for my input to appear. I can move the icons I want into position. But I CANNOT get the system to accept that. There is no no button "accept as create". It all disappears when I do anything.

I have Thunderbird on my PC and on my Mobole Phone. When I load my emails on my phone, check them and delete those of no interest, they still remain in the Inbox in Thunderbird on my PC and vice versa. Why? Is it possible to link so that deleing on one also applioes to the other?

Is there an alternative client I can import my Tbird data to?

I have had zero luck fixing constant crashing of Tbird and it is not providing any crash reports. It just says (Not Responding) and I can close but no restart without using task manager to kill the background process.

I cannot work like that so need something else.

(Windows 10 PC) Certain senders (generally groups/special interest/etc.) always go to Spam. I've tried right-clicking/ Not Junk over and over, to no avail. Always the next message is in Spam. Or Junk. I'm at a loss; what can I do so I receive messages in Inbox, as they should be?

My thunderbird email layout has changed for the sender column. It used to just show the sender's name, now it shows their whole name along with their email address. I liked the way it was before, just showing name.

Now it's very cluttered up and hard to read for me personally. I tried my best to find an answer in the forum on how to bring it back to the way it was before, but with no luck. Thanks for your help! Jami

Guten Tag, ich habe soeben eine einmalige Spende überwiesen. Wahrscheinlich hat die Überweisung per Kreditkare funktioniert. Dabei wunderte mich, dass ich, obwohl ich bei meiner Bank die 2-Faktor-Authentifizierung aktiviert habe, meine Banking-Sicherheit-App keine Bestätigung verlangte. Bei andern Überweisungen auf diversen Webseiten funktionierte das stets. Unterstützt Thunderbird Mozilla die 2-Faktor-Identifizierung nicht? Das wäre schade. Und ich habe keine Gefühl dabei.

Hi, when sending and responding to some emails they are not being recorded in the sent file then I will have 6 drafts from that email.

This is now becoming a recurring issue and is affecting my business.

I uninstalled Chrome recently and noticed that in Thunderbird, when I want to look at the mail account server settings, it displays :

I only have Firefox.  I had rebooted after removing Chrome.
How can I fix this?

SMTP settings for MYFAIRPOINT.NET (Server Name, Port, Security, Authentication). I have now spent 5 hours and cannot get Thunderbird to send a message through Myfairpoint.net. It used to work for years with no problem. My inbox with IMAP is working just fine.
