Opened a PDF attached to an email with double click. PDF opens with PDF viewer. Can not get text select tool to select text. Nothing happens.

Been using and loving Thunderbird for over 10 years - now on 115.18.0 (32-bit) with 8 different email addresses, all on 'ionos.co.uk'. My AV is Norton and seemed to 'upgrade' to 'Norton for Gamers' 2 days ago. Since then attempts to read messages get a pop-up window titled 'Add Security Exception' with text 'You are about to override how Thunderbird identifies this site. Legitimate banks, stores will not ask you to do this. ' It gives location as 'imap.ionos.co,uk;993' then a line says 'This site attempts to identifiy itself with invalid information'. Clicking button marked View shows details that include 'Organisation: Norton Web/Mail Shield' hence my suspicion. I've had a lengthy call with Ionos support, very patient and helpful, checking things at their end, concluding nothing of theirs has changed and all is working correctly. I tried one of the addresses using their webmail, which worked perfectly. About the same time that this happened, I started getting pop-up messages from Norton when I started software programs that I wrote myself some years ago. That's never happened before! Tried reading Norton help pages but cannot get hold of a human. Has anyone else had this problem? Should I ditch Norton? Many thanks!

When I transferred my mail from one computer running win10 to another running win11 with replacing ssd, the letters in the folders first opened and I can look at their contents, but then when I open the letter in the folder it shows me an empty window. Moreover, when new letters come from the server, they get into the folders according to the rules and do not open either. I use pop3 connection protocol Help me, what should I do to transfer my account without errors, I can post reports?
I find the colour pallet for tags to be restrictive and would like to see an option to use background fill colours as well as just the text colours

Hi, I’m an employee of the City Office of Biała Podlaska (a local government unit). We have our own mail server set up, based on the OAuth2 (OpenID Connect) authentication mechanism. In our daily work, we use Thunderbird to handle email, and I try to keep it updated from time to time. However, each update comes with a certain inconvenience: after every Thunderbird update, I have to manually add entries about our server to the OAuth2Providers.sys.mjs file.
Is there even the slightest chance that these entries could be included there permanently, just like the entries for other mail servers? I’d be grateful for any feedback on this.

Dear Team After Updating from 102.15.1 (32Bit) to 115.28.0 (32Bit) I can not connect to the provider "pop.hispeed.ch" anymore. Ping pop.hispeed.ch (on CMD) shows normal raction of beeing reachable with a "reply from xxxx.". I am on Windows 7 SP1. I have checked several times all setting POP and SMTP, switched off Firewall, uninstalled virus scanner, and and and many more (all knowledge found on internet..). Pressing the "Get Message" button in the upper menue bar shows no raction when pressed. The icon "Get Message" on the left side of the button "+ New Message" results in a none moving blue status bar at the right bottom of the window. After a while with the message "timed out.. ".In the settings "Config Editor.." the values of "mailnews.tcptimeout" are set to "300", and "true". I am using TB since donkey years with many many eMails. Are the lost? I'm on Windows 10; on 128.9.2esr version for Thunderbird.
You see how the path is structured: account@mail.com/inbox/... I moved my mails folders into the folder account@mail.com (instead of account@mail.com/inbox/) Closed thunderbird Restarted thunderbird
All folders at account@mail.com/ disappeared.
I tried to find them. I created a folder named "TestAccountFindThunderbird" I moved account@mail.com/inbox/TestAccountFindThunderbird into account@mail.com/TestAccountFindThunderbird Closed thunderbird Restarted thunderbird "TestAccountFindThunderbird" disappeared as well
and making a research on C:\ drive I managed to find TestAccountFindThunderbird.msf inside the folder at C:\Users\<my_account>\AppData\Local\Temp\MozillaMailnews
At the same place I found also the other things that disappeared from my mail account Health.msf, Apple.msf, Work.msf, Insurances.msf, Bank.msf, ... But they are all .msf files...
I saved them into a backup folder. Then I copy pasted all that content from backup to INBOX.sbd but when I open Thunderbird in a blink they are all removed. I guess its because they are .msf and not actual content.
1) Why when I move a mail folder into account@mail.com/ then the folder disappears/is deleted? 2) Where are my emails? And how do I reimport them? 3) Why do I have traces of them into AppData\Local\Temp\MozillaMailnews?

Hello, I have two problems with Thunderbird. First, I need to attach a file from a shortcut but it attaches the shortcut itself, it doesn't open it to choose my file from it. The problem appeared after I migrated from Windows 10 to Windows 11. Second problem, the PDF files in the attachments are listed as blank sheets, I should mention that I use a Xerox B8155 printer. ARRRGGGH! I've been using Thunderbird for over 20 years and it's doing something new and BAD:
Every time I open it since yesterday, it keeps adding additional inboxes (7), drafts boxes (3), sent boxes (2) and junk boxes (6) and trash boxes (2). I don't know how to get rid of all of the extra folders. My profile is backed up, I just tried deleting the program and installing the latest version and it opened the profile (I thought it'd open a default profile and then I could reinstall the "real" profile). What's happening and how can I fix it? No, this does not have anything to do with multiple email accounts and I haven't added any new ones. Please help!

I've been using Thunderbird for years without issues. A few weeks ago, Thunderbird on two of my computers, (a Win10 laptop and a Win11 desktop) stopped receiving email, but were still able to send it. After a couple of days, normality resumed and both computers were able to receive email again, without any corrective measures taken by me. However, about 5 days ago the same thing has happened again, but this time, the desktop has resumed normal function but the laptop has not. The error (both times of failure) is shown in the image. TB on the Win10 laptop is configured POP3. On the Win11 desktop IMAP.
Email works perfectly from web interface, and so I'm very reluctant to change the password on the server in case I get locked out of the web interface, but perhaps this might be the step to take? I uninstalled TB using RevoUninstaller to completely wipe TB from the computer, including any registry entries. Installed TB version 137.0.2. Still the issue persists. I'm certain that the account settings are correct, so the issue is a complete mystery to me as to what is going on here. I would very much appreciate any help to resolve this issue please.

Years ago I created a local folder D:\mail for old mails nice to have, but not needed on the server. It works very well. But it seems that it is no longer possible to create a folder like that, separate from the rest. It seems that a new folder should either be created under the general mail account or under Local folders. So is this type a left over thing, no longer possible, but for a while maintained for compatibility?
