I'm running four email addresses through my thunderbird and a) the last few days I've started getting the above message on my 2 gmails; b) on one of the other accounts ( a non-gmail) it'll says it's getting say 5 messages then none appear. On the left sidebar it'll say there's one email, greyed out, but the main panel says no message found - the recent messages that were in the inbox have disappeared.

The fourth email account is working fine. I've changed nothing that might cause this.

I uninstalled and reinstalled and the same thing is happening.

When I opened Thunderbird to get and read my new email I received this error message after I could see that Thunderbird had found new messages.

"Unable to write the email to the mailbox. Make sure the file system allows you write privileges, and you have enough disk space to copy the mailbox."

I checked the hard drive space on all of my hard drives and I have GBytes of space and in PREFERENCES for the hard drive, WRITE is allowed. In fact all items listed in Preferences is set to allow.

I've rebooted the computer and even had Windows check my hard drive for errors and it found no problems. What do I now need to do? Thank you. Fred Berney

Is it possible to change the default calendar in Thunderbird so that my google calendar is automatically used when creating a new event rather than "Home"? It would be useful when creating events not to have to remember to change the Calendar from Home to another from the drop down menu. Grateful for any help.

I have two long-established email accounts, both provided by siteground. I've used both successfully for years. Now, one still works for sending and one doesn't. I've checked the SMTP settings for both and they are the same, except of course for Description and Server Name. Here's the error message I get.

Having moved Thunderbird from Drive C: to Drive D:, space saving, and with everything working very well I note that my Address Book is still on Drive C:. Please advise how to move this to Drive D:. Happy New Year, and apologies for the timing of this question.

The increasing volume of spam is getting annoying. If I filter spam messages they get put aside, and that doesn't hurt the spammer. What I would like is a reject option so that the spammer gets a bounced email. that will really annoy him and perhaps 'encourage' him to not spam me.

For some reason, I have two Thuderbird Apps (please see Image attached). I'm afraid of deleting one because I didn't want to lose any content/emails. Can someone please let me know the best course of action (and, put my mind at rest if I follow any directions/suggestions that I won't lose anything?!).

This issue started to appear 2-3 weeks ago. It appeared on my three ‘smtp.mail.yahoo.com’ (aka, @cox.com) accounts when I was attempting to send a message. The ‘Permanently store this exception’ worked and the messages ceased. My other account: pop3.mailfence.com with smtp.mailfence.com began having the same issue except the “Permanently store this except” function fails to work. At first, only sending (smtp) was failing. Now, I can no longer even access the account without the message (included) being displaying. I am aware that Norton is involved from viewing the certificate information . Yes, I use Norton 360 and have for decades. I have, also, been on the TB support site (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/products/thunderbird) and found similar issues. Unfortunately, none of them seem to address this specific issue. Thank you in advance for your time and effort. Roger

Thunderbird quit working today. I can start it, look at one email and then it hangs. It says it's loading. I tried starting it while holding down the shift key. Didn't help. I reinstalled Thunderbird. Didn't help. I started windows 10 in safe mode. Didn't help. Deleted the .msf files. Didn't help.

What else can I do?

Hello, I've had some random error crop up on my Ubuntu install of Thunderbird. It suddenly won't let me do anything with outgoing email, whether that's saving a draft or sending it. This happens regardless of which email account and server it's on (both MS and Google) and no matter what is in the message. I have no issues getting messages or moving things around folder to folder within Thunderbird. I also do not have this issue on my various Mac installations using the same email accounts. Based on some other digging, I've already tried resetting my OAuth tokens and that did nothing. I've run the developer console and found the following messages when trying to save:

What on earth is going on here? It looks like it's failing to actually create the file that holds the message and that failure prevents anything else from happening. Thanks!

But I could not find it as "My Question". But it is also my question. Because I still have 11,000+ email messages with many duplicates and no way to clean them out, because even trying to look at the folder puts TB into a spin....

OK, I noticed my Sent mail folder has a file size of > 3 GB (3,224,360,399 bytes) Probably why it is not being read How can I reduce the size of this file (without being able to open it in Thunderbird)?

After installation, continually asked for my name, e-mail address, Also continually asked for a donation which I have done through PayPal. In any case, the program never gets any further and, the (word, ALLOW) never can be found. Any help will be appreciated.

This may be different than other posts. I had been trying out Waterfox for better security, but decided to remove it. I did two things: First removed Waterfox using REVO Unstaller. REBOOTED

I might have had RATAIL malware so decided to install Charter Security Suite since was free with my account. Rebooted.

At this point is when I wanted to check my email. Got profile error and Thunderbird will not load. Uninstalling , reboot and reinstalling does not help. I keep a backup of my profile folder in these cases. I really need this fixed as I have years of several profiles and email that I need. Thanks

I need help with installing the latest Thunderbird version. I am using Linux Mint 21.3 Cinnamon and have Thunderbird 115.18.0 installed via package manager. I'd like to upgrade to the latest version (which is not yet available in the package manager) and also would like to keep my current user profile (settings, email accounts and folders). I have read the install instructions [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/installing-thunderbird-linux#w_insta...] but before I do it I'd like to know if this will keep my profile unchanged and which would be the best option to install: systemwise or localwise?

I have a problem forwarding emails from one of my banks containing bank statements to my accountant. I have setup message filters and all is working good for one bank, but emails from another bank won't forward at all. As soon as I run Thunderbird in the morning, I get the blank forward email from that bank containing only subject with my accountant email fulfilled, but no body and no attachments.

Then I have to close that window, and do it manually every morning. I click the received email from bank, than forward, put forward address from accountant and send.

Since yesterday's update of Thunderbird, I cannot even forward email from this bank (inline). The email is totally blank, no body, no attachment. If I select to forward as an attachment (*.eml) than it is all OK.

All other emails forward fine. The problem is only with this bank. Also I have noticed that the digital signature from this bank is not valid, so maybe this is what is creating the problem.

Some emails I receive, when I reply to them, don't correctly display the email (body text) correctly. It looks like Thunderbird is choosing the wrong font colour for the reply email text and I'm after any info on why this happens and how to fix it.

Attached are two screen shots. "original.jpg" shows the original email and "reply.jpg" is my reply email. It doesn't always happen and it *may* be emails sent out by Zendesk.

I'm on latest TBird 128.6.0esr but it's been happening for the last few releases.
