My wife and I each have our own Thunderbird accounts. They were created a long time ago, at different times. I’m pretty sure that they were not set up identically. She has recently experienced a problem: the number of new emails downloaded (as shown in the lower left corner of the screen) doesn’t match with the number of new and unread emails listed in the Inbox (the emails shown in boldface). Something else, though I think related: In the upper left corner of the screen, on the same line as the word Inbox, is a small circle with a number inside. I think that number gives the number of unread emails in the Inbox. Her number shows 20 but the actual number (boldface) is 15. Is this a serious problem? Is it a problem at all? If so, how to fix it? Thanks.

When receiving emails they appear as normal but in the background is another email of a couple of pages which has sender and receiver details at the top then lines of letters making no sense for the rest of the message.

Hello, I did look for related posts but found nothing close enough to this so I thought I would create a post. I don't ever recall having this issue before v102 was introduced but now it happens once in a while but not always.

If I am in the inbox of my main mail account and choose to delete a message, it goes away and then reappears almost immediately. There is a box that shows up at the bottom right of the screen that says: The current operation on inbox did not succeed. The mail server for account (my main mail account is shown) responded: UID MOVE failed. This account is in Canada on the Bell Canada network so perhaps it is an ISP issue?

I have 3 mail accounts set up - all IMAP. If I close TB and reopen it, the message is gone as if it required the program to close in order to complete the delete request.

If anyone has experienced this and has any suggestions or tips, it will be greatly appreciated. - Thanks, Mike

I was able to change some of my message pane background by adding the following to the userContent.css file:

Why do I still get these two dark gray areas (see attached)? What css do I need to add to get them to be the lighter grey?

I have created two lists of email addresses to which I want to sent the same email. However I can't get the list into the address bar either To. CC or BCC. As there are some 20 addresses typing each address in the list, I had hoped that I would not have to type all of these again each time I send out an email. Any help would be most welcome.

I want to change the reminder sound. I already downloaded a MP3 file and I selected it on "Reminders", "Use the following sound file". I can see the window that pops up, but no sound is played. Also when I click on Play, it doesn't work. I know the sound file is fine, thus I can play it on my laptop. What should I do? Another question, is there any Add-on with Reminder sounds?

I have previously (about 1 month ago) connected without issue to my Ionos email account. Today it will not connect. I have updated all the POP3/SMTP settings, read from the Ionos site. I have re-entered the current password too. My Gmail account downloads fine, it is just my Ionos account that will not load. I don't get an error but the last mail showing is in March (2024) and I have had hundreds since then.

Every few days, the index pane of some folder gets corrupted. Repair (right-click, Properties, Repair Folder) fixes it. Then a few days later this repeats, with a different folder. I have three IMAP accounts and this occurs on more than one of them.

Any suggestion for finding and fixing the underlying problem?

Every time I open TB email on my laptop I get the following page, which then exists as long as I am on TB. I can work-around this page to send and receive email. Here is the top half of the page:

Hello all together,

i just reinstalled my whole pc, win10 64. I exported my profile including all possible data, the .zip was too big to import so i copied it into the profile folder, on my desktop, in another foldet etc. But i always get the error message shown in the picture. This is my only chance to have access to my (partly) old email accounts... that's why i followed all steps, but i cannot import everything. I REALLY need your help and would appreciate it A LOT.

I have latest Thunderbird version (115.9.0 64bit) on fully patched Ubuntu 22.04.4 LTS.

I'm trying to get it to display Day-of-Week for old messages - is this possible? I have tried all sorts of combination as detailed HERE to no avail.

I'd like concise instructions on how to do this (if it can be done). I do not believe trying a new profile will work as I need to test this for old messages - at least for messages older than a week.

From the link above, I can the Day-of-Week to work for the current week - but that only displays the day and time. What I'm after is as shown in the attached Outlook screenshot. Also see the closest I can get that to match in the Thunderbird screenshot.

After installing Thunderbird 115.10.0 (64bit) on a WIN 11 system yesterday program does not close fully. It will not restart unless I use Task Manager to delete what is running or else reboot system.

i have been away from my pc for 6 weeks and cannot access thunderbird. it repeated states that the login server IMAP.telstra.com failed my email hillsec@bigpond.net.au i have tried changing the in server and outgoing server to match my ipad and iphone which can receive emails. please help me to restore everything in thunderbird.

Last week, sometime, I received ALL the emails, that have come into my "mailbox", from about the time I purchased my latest computer, several years ago. There must be hundreds, if not thousands, of the little critters. All arranged alphabetically, starting with the letter "a". So far, the ONLY solution I've found from "Thunderbird Help", is to 1. Open inbox 2. Select [left click] one of the repeated emails. 3. This high lights the email in BLUE. 4. Select BOTH "CONTROL & A" KEYS at the same time. 5. This highlights the WHOLE PRESENT page of emails in BLUE. 6. The instructions then say to press the "DELETE" key. 7. Question is- IF I PRESS THE "DELETE" key, will that just delete the emails on this page, OR delete EVERY email in my entire "inbox"? The only OTHER remedy I've tried, is to send the unwanted emails, ONE at a time, to the "TRASH" folder, then empty the "TRASH" folder, when I get 10-15 emails in it. That could take a VERY long time. I changed back to Thunderbird from Windows Mail. When I did Thunderbird picked up my old emails from 2018 and before. How can I get them out of Inbox and Sent Box ? TU.

I need help with an abusive administer he only an administer because he stole my e-commerce operating system in 2017 by putting malware on to my keyboard port so no key board would type I could not stop him I was originally hacked in 2014 I shut down my system that was unopened at the time for two years until I had gone through 25 devices because the abusive administer put malware onto all my devices and ruined them this has got to stop u just won money I can’t get into my google account because he changed my password and took my phone numbers because of so I can change the password to get into it I have about 25 google accounts for this reason every time something good happens and money is involved he takes my accounts so it don’t happen this isn’t the firsts time he has done this very same thing some one has to stop this criminal He takes Money off my cards and spends my money how much more of this do I have to put up with he is not an administer he is a hacking thief and I demand help

I am still receiving regular emails from other sources. But for some reason with this particular email or group of emails, they are unable to send to me anymore. I have no idea why. I have attached the message that my client received when they attempted to send.
