Sehr geehrte Damen und Herren, ich mußte leider Thunderbird neu installieren und seit dem erscheinen Nachrichten nur noch in seperaten Fenstern. Normalerweise war die Darstellung 2geteilt: Oben die Nachrichten und unten die Inhalte. Wie stell ich das wieder her?

I saved a draft of a long email.

I now wish to open the draft to proof read it and send it.

With the latest version of Thunderbird I cannot find any way to access and open the save draft.

Any assistance gratefully received.

When Thunderbird suspects an email is junk, I receive the above message in a yellow banner. However, I cannot figure out how to tell the system it is junk. I do not see any option except to click this is not junk. I have tried online searches but cannot find the answer. Thanks for any help

I am running Thunderbird 115.9.0 on Lubuntu 23.10. I have 4 IMAP accounts I use. The folder and file is not shared and I am the only account with access to the directory.

I use emoji as tags for messages, and have a large number of filter rules defined, nearly all of them Tag a message and set the Junk Status to `Not Junk`. These rules are all set to execute `Manually` or on `Getting New Mail`.

If I select a given inbox folder for a mailbox and select `Tools` > `Run Filters on Folder`, all of the messages are properly tagged, however, after some time (10m?, On new mail receipt?) at least one of my mailboxes will lose all of the tags that were previously set for messages. Manually running the filters will restore the tags, until they disappear again some time later.

I've not seen anything in the Browser Console log (but perhaps I'm not using the right term?) Is there any way I can diagnose or fix this issue? Thanks!

Made a mistake and installed 157.7.0 on Linux

Now cannot backup/restore to another computer so cannot use that computer.

Old Profile used to be in .thunderbird folder - easy!

Now profile seems to be in /home/oem/snap/thunderbird/common/.thunderbird/26pphmrb.default

This does not contain all emails especially for pop3 and anything after Nov 23. It does not work

Best way to fix? Can I force it TBird to read the .thunderbird in home directory? Can I install an older version of TBird easily? Is there some other way to restore the profile and clone another computer?

I had growing problems ever since updating to Supernova. I updated again to 115.5.2 which didn't help. So I thought, right, start again. I uninstalled Thunderbird and installed 115.9.0. Now I have no folders in the folder pane and no messages. Please see screenshot. I have checked that Thunderbird is using the right profile. I have 1 IMAP email account and 23 POP3 accounts, 19Gb of messages going back many years, all saved for good reasons, mostly business. I can't see any of them, nor incoming messages. When I send a message the writing box shows the characters with the chosen font and the correct size (Corbel - 14px) Once I send the message, opening it again in Sent, the font appears larger (Corbel - 17px) The line-height is also larger. The display of the sent message (in Sent) is the same from the recipient's client. So it seems that the composition settings are not then retained when the message is sent. What could this be due to? I attach two images showing how the text appears when writing, and then instead once sent.

Hi, I have a lot of contacts in the address book of Thunderbird. Also at a lot of these contacts the birthday date is filled in. Is it possible that a trigger is informing me that that person has his/her birthday today? Thanks

I am getting the Mozilla Thunderbird Email wants to access your Google Account all the time while using TBM, I have removed the gmail account and the pop up does not show, so I know it is for the email account just removed. I re-add the email address and enter the email address and password and let it find the config itself. Click Done, and get the Mozilla Thunderbird Email wants to access your Google Account again, then click Allow and get the Authentication failure while connecting to server imap.gmail.com. message in the bottom left of my desktop. How can i get gmail to work again please.

Good afternoon! The last two updates have wiped my past email "contents" - I see the emails there - but the content is gibberish - for example: "----==_mimepart_64ac65e3be984_8bfa5b04187571a--". I heavily rely on my past emails - is there a way to recover? And if not - since I rely so much on past emails, is it possible to revert out of the 'beta' version? Thanks for your time!

I have seen articles about migrating to new computers, but they want you to replace your thunderbird profile and don't account for adding folders not saved online. Please advise.

I am using TB 115.9.0 on a Windows 7 Lenovo laptop in pop3 mode. I use AVG (which I know has caused a lot of problems).

I have over 150,000 emails in various directories...all downloaded from AOL and an older eudora installation.

TB had been working fine for the past 60 days. Before that, I'd had a problem with slow or no downloading of emails which was solved by unchecking the SCAN SSL connections in the AVG geek area.

So everything has been working great for a period of time.

Today, my computer battery ran out of juice, and the computer shut down.

When I got back to the office, and plugged it in, I noticed TB was NOT downloading any emails. I went into panic mode (thinking "here we go again!...who has time for this?") and immediately turned OFF the AVG....thinking that would solve the problem (as it had a few months ago).

When I restarted the system, it began loading ALL 89000 emails currently in my AOL account.

I've reloaded TB (saw this in someone else's post); tried starting TB in safe mode (had the same problem); and have restarted numerous times. Result each time: downloading 1 of 89.000 emails.

Any idea how to reset things so I am NOT downloading 89000 emails again?

I am a long time Thunderbird email user (back to Eudora) and never have had a problem until recently with 115.2.2 . I lost all of the contents of my Sent folder. I see the new Thunderbird sent email folder icon but it is empty.

Please help me find my lost sent emails and tell me how to prevent this from happening again. Thanks you in advance for your thoughts on this issue. chuck hall

I have a hotmail.com address. Until recently, it worked well as webmail, plus also from TB on laptop, via IMAP and SMTP.

A few days ago, the sending function via SMTP stopped working (not IMAP); and webmail is still fine. I've tried a lot to solve it, but to no avail.

My guess is that MS is to blame, but don't know how to reach someone better-than-hotline there.

Details see annex; OS is Win10, TB is 115.9

Would someone be familiar with this kind of problem? According to my traditional european quality idea, best should be to get in touch with an MS technician with access to the syslog, to hear what the system's response to connection attempts is - but this seems to be precluded? I wonder what alternatives there might be?

While a long-time user of Thunderbird, I only discovered a few months ago that I could successfully front-end my GMail account. For several decades I collected and collated all my mail from the several different POP servers I've used, but did not know that Thunderbird could treat the IMAP-based Google mail server as if POP.

So, for the past several months, I have been very, very happy to have my GMail recent email traffic integrated with the others.

What I have not discovered how to accomplish is the retrieval of a trove of some rather important emails exchanged and retained on the GMail server from about 2012 through 2021. I know that I could forward those emails to one of my other POP accounts and they would be sent to my Thunderbird front end as newly-arrived emails and I will do that if there is no way to achieve what I would actually like to achieve which would be the ability to coerce the server and client into treating the old emails as fresh, so that I could receive and catalog them without the distorted history that would appertain by forwarding them -- showing up as forwarded from rather than sent from the original parties and carrying a modern date rather than the historically-correct one.

Coercing the server side into restoring the old emails to an UnRead state does not have the desired effect. Any suggestion from anyone who has faced a similar conundrum and solved it would be much appreciated.

I am running Thunderbird 115 on Linux Mint 21.3 Cinnamon Desktop. I am used to an earlier version found in Mint 20.3, which had a header bar, I will call it, for lack of a better term, that let me sort by name, subject or date. By date, I could sort with ne newest or oldest email at the top. There is no such here on TBird 115.

Now, to answer my own question: Referring to that attached screenshot, there is an arrow pointing to the button, just right of the Quick filter. That button will open a menu that provides display options. Select to sort by, then select Date at the top of the menu and Descending toward the bottom of the menu, fourth up from the bottom, in my case. The Descending option will put the newest email at the top.

Hello, Most received emails word wrap in Thunderbird, but a small proportion overflow the right side of the viewport. Is there anything I can do to make them wrap? Is there anything I can ask the senders to do to eliminate the horizontal scroll bar? Alan.

My Get Messages is grayed out, how do I fix? Not downloading messages I searched the answers for this and tried what was suggested and now the Mail Toolbar is completely gone, the suggestion was to Restore Default setting and I did and now my Toolbar is completely gone
