When upgrading from Thunderbird Help, the upgrade install does not retain default mail app settings. This has been happening for months now and it gets tiring. I have to then download the same version as the exe file and install it again to get Thunderbird set as the default mail application.

My old computer died, but luckily my files including Thunderbird ones were backed up.
I've tried to move my data to my new computer following the instructions detailed here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/moving-thunderbird-data-to-a-new-computer
It all seemed to work until I opened Thunderbird. I am now getting the error message: "Your Thunderbird profile cannot be loaded. It may be missing or inaccessible."
Does anyone have any suggestions? I've got some important emails in there so would really apreciate any help.

No matter how often I verify my gmail and thunderbird account settings, the "Login to account" window won't go away - it keeps popping up with the three buttons, Retry, Enter New Password, or Cancel. The correct password will not satisfy it, and retrying does not work. IMAP is enabled on GMail, the password is correct, Thunderbird has been approved as a third-party app. And it usually works a few days later; this is a recurring problem on many accounts. (I support some friends.)

Since google killed my wife's email account a few days ago, I decided to migrate her to the latest TB. I installed the new beta version, TB 102.0b3 and tried out the new import function. I first got NO PROFILE FOUND... so i made a zip copy of the .PST file and tried to import only mail from that and I get a Thunderbird Import item listed in the Local Folders area but still no data???

First my Outlook 2007 quite working with G-Mail. So I am trying thunderbird as an alternative. The program refuses to import my Contacts and saved e-mails regarding a very sensitive subject on my retirement and a visa dispute. I have attempted to import several times with no luck.
Second in trying out some of the features I added a new folder to my folders list which caused it and 2 other folders to appear. How do you get rid of these folders? You would think something as simple as deleting a folder from you list would not require a PHD. Thank you for any help. I am not even sure how I will know if someone responds. But you could send any help directly to my email address. At least I should see that?

I installed TB on my laptop but i can't setup any email: i tried gmail, yahoo and ik with the same negative result. I'm on setup page, write email and password (remember password check marked), then google page opens for verification and i allow TB to everything. For Google is ok and i received an email that confirm TB is allowed to see, modify etc but in TB error says: "Unable to log in at server. Probably wrong config, username or password" but if it was wrong i can't be log on Google. About configuration, that is automatic, i have this:

I have uninstalled and re-installed TB on a win 10 laptop. When It starts up, I add my gmail account (I know gmail now requires OAuth2) and TB configures the account. When I click DONE it goes into a never-ending loop asking for my password and when I cancel it shows a green box indicating that the password was accepted but then says there is a configuration issue and stops the addition of the account. I have matched the configuration parameters with another laptop which is working correctly in connecting to gmail but nothing seems to work. How do I connect with gmail? Thanks.
