My Thunderbird profile in Linux Ubuntu 24.04 is in /home/dick/Thunderbird_mail/me. I want to copy it to a new directory. I copied it using the following commands: dick@dick1:~$ mkdir t2 dick@dick1:~$ cp -rf Thunderbird_mail t2

I then ran "thunderbird -P" and created a new profile pointing to /home/dick/t2/me When I opened this profile I got the message "You have launched an a\older version of Thunderbird.", even though I was running the same version of Thunderbird. If I open the profile in Thunderbird_mail/me, it works correctly. If I open the profile in t2/me with the same executable of Thunderbird, I get this message.

How can I copy my profile to a new directory?

Recently for no apparent reason I'm not receiving any emails to my email accounts. This happened about 2 weeks ago, after some clicking I was ask to authorize some form and this resolved the difficulty. However it has now returned with a vengeance and none of my accounts are receiving any emails. I have not made any alteration or tampered with any account settings. Yesterday the emial system was operating perfectly but today absolutely nothing only the emails received yesterday are showing. All I get is a notice advising that whatever email address I click on "connected to emap@ gmail.com" or what other incomming connecting is used. My FireFox was updated about 2 hours ago whilst trying to open my emails. Can someone help or do I close the account ?

I added a PNG picture as a background to my emails. Instead of a single background picture, it produces a collage (can't think of another word) of multiple copies of the same picture. Any way to just get a single picture?

I Can't send or receive emails from Thunderbird, over 24 hours now. I get error message above and repeated requests to log on with my passwords, but my password doesn't work. I log onto and go to my AOL server to see my emails.

For the last week or so, I haven't been able to sync my emails to Thunderbird even though this is working fine for Outlook. Before a week ago it worked fine though.

when i try to access my email i get the message LOGIN TO ACCOUNT FAILED. i found a page in this community which addressed this problem, but none of the suggestions solved the problem. it started 3 days ago. i can access my email online with FIREFOX, but when i tried with CHROME i could SEE the emails, but when i clicked on one, couldn't read it or do anything WITH it.

Hej Jag har installerat Thunderbird på en ny dator och då stannar e-posten kvar på servern fast de finns i Thunderbird. På den gamla datorn laddades de ner helt till Thunderbord. På den gamla datorn har jag version 115.11.1 (32-bitar) och där finns funktionen "Lämna kvar meddelanden på servern" att välja under serverinställningar och den rutan är urbockad. Den nya datorn har versionen 115.12.1 (64-bitar) och där finns inte den funktionen med. Hur gör jag för att Thunderbird ska hämta e-postmeddelandena och inte lämna kvar dem på servern. When I launched Thunderbird this morning the right-hand-side panel is completely blank. The left hand side panel shows my folders and if there are any unread emails in them but the right hand side is just completely blank (as per attached image).

I keep getting this message...please advise, thank you: Sending of the message failed. The message was not sent due to exceeding the allowed number of recipients. The server responded: Insufficient system storage.

My thunderbird configuration file in appdata/roaming is huge -- 8 GB. I was trying to clean out old stuff and deleted all the messages in Archives. Then I emptied the trash. BIG MISTAKE! all my gmail accounts now have an empty inbox. I'm not sure if when I delete a message from inbox, if it also deletes it from Archives. Why does TBird store my gmail inbox in archives? My configuration file is still 8GB, so maybe they are still out there somewhere.

IMAP account on HostGator.

In the last 9 months or so, every once in a while (sometimes several times in a row!) when replying to a message, Thunderbird does not set the \Answered flag on the IMAP server.

I enabled IMAP logging and finally caught this happening. The reply is sent and copied to the Sent folder, as it should, but the original email is never flagged as \Answered.

I can't seem to see a pattern why Thunderbird skips this step, occasionally.

G'day, I cannot understand why I cannot get to send any e-mails. I receive this popup. I have no idea what I did. I am in my 80s and was born too early to grasp a lot of I T.' I would appreciate somebody to tell me what I need to do please. Cheers Malcolm

On June 16, I sent an email which went through just fine. I haven’t been able to send a receive any emails since. I got an error message that said that sending the password did not succeed and that there was a server error on inbound.att.net. That was followed up by an error message that said that the login to that server failed. I tried entering the password I had but it didn’t work, so I changed the password and the new password didn’t work. I don’t know what else to do. I’ve tried turning off the computer and turning it back on, closing Thunderbird and reopening it. I hope you will be able to get this problem resolved quickly. Thanks in advance!

My inbox was full, Thunderbird asked if I would like to compact, so I agreed. My entire inbox contents are now missing. I have read these may of been archived, but I cannot locate the messages/archive file. Can someone help please. I have cheked my web server and they have gone from there also....worried.
