Hello, It's there any option/setting in mozilla thunderbird for drag and drop emails to local drive folder and save them under another filename that the standard "Subject" name? I don't know if i'm clearly enough, that's why i want to make a briefly description of the operation i want and the way the emails i want to appear in my folder. I drag and drop an email to my folder and this email has the filename represented by the "Subject" of that email. Can i change the way emails are saved ? Or can i drag and drop emails from one sender in separate folder ?

Hi, I have very frequent Mozilla Thunderbird Crashes on the site. I have noticed that it appears mostly/all the time? when some emails are being deleted, if that makes any sense. This is more of an annoyance, than a critical issue. Just in 2024 the log shows over 100 submitted crash reports. The "good news" is that Thunderbird goes to the "restart and/or quit" option icon for a a fast restart. So any thoughts, suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you . Gerry K.

Why has Thunderbird started to continuosly ask for the passwords for my email accounts? And why do all my attempts to enter my passwords result in failure? I am unable to send or receive any emails at the moment. If anyone is able to help I'd be very grateful.

I am running Thunderbird version 115.4.1 on the Windows 11 system. Having Thunderbird active (even in the background or minimised) stops the Windows key from working. How can I get the Windows key to work normally without closing down and exiting Thunderbird?

Our Thunderbird is set up with 2 email accounts - Gmail & Cox cable. Actually 3 as my wife also uses TB for her Cox emails. Cox is moving over to Yahoo. Not a fan of Yahoo. Eventually I will either set up another Gmail account (cox was for subscriptions or when a business needs an email address) and my has a Gmail already, but she does not use TB for that as for her Cox is her main email.

So can I delete our Cox emails thru Cox web email site without losing our emails currently in TB? And will that mess things up as TB sends and receives email from cox cable?

Any tips and suggestions much appreciated.

There is now a new line of all my emails just below the T/bird menu. I hate it! How can I revert to seeing all emails separately in the main email body and losing that line?

When trying to sign messages with thunderbir on debian mails won't deliver.

If they are not signed, it will send smoothly even if they are encrypted.

For past 24 hours only, I have been unable to open email attachments. v115.7.0, however last update was 31/01 and has worked perfectly until now. Still use Windows 10.

Double clicking on attachments does nothing, other than popup software option for formats without specified defaults. Either way, no indication that attachment is opening.

"Save as" is saving attachment document to target folder, however trying to open these errors, suggesting document is corrupted or in incorrect format.

Have tried restarting system to no effect; likewise error continuing in troubleshoot mode. Cannot see any obvious settings that would impact this, nor have I consciously altered any of these.

I'm certain this may be an easy fix, or my own error, but this is eluding me.

Back in 2015 someone asked about the fact that emails are not marked "as read" once opened but I don't think the answer was ever fully given. They were told: "This option has always been available and I use it. via Menu Bar Tools > Options > Advanced > Reading & Display or via menu icon menu icon > Options > Options > Advanced > Reading & Display select: 'automatically mark messages as read' Select: 'Immediately on display' click on OK When you select/left click an email in the list, it will auto open and display in the Message Pane below the list. If you use double click, it will auto open in a new tab or window depending upon what you selected. In bth instances the message will be immediately marked as read." Here's my problem with that .... I don't use the "Message Pane", I don't like it. I have my incoming messages set at "table view" and they are all just listed down the page by date. I don't want to see what's in the email until I actually open it....but, once I open it and read it when I close out of it the email still stays BOLD in the list....this didn't used to happen, once I read the email the BOLD went away. When I use the "automatically mark message as read immediately on display" then new emails are not in BOLD so I can't tell if they've been read or not. Bottom line, is there a way to have messages marked "read" AFTER they are opened WITHOUT using the message pane??

Yesterday everything was fine, today I open my Thunderbird and some of my folders have changed to a light grey italicized font and ALL the messages in those folders (and their sub-folders) are GONE!! We are talking a LOT of messages! These emails are for projects my company is working on and there was stuff in there about pay items, time reports, payroll ... some really important emails and they are just gone. Has anyone else had this problem? Does anyone know how to fix it??? I really need to find a way to get these emails back!!!!

I'm trying to print from Mozilla - the only option I receive is to print to a PDF and not my printer. I have no other problems printing to printer from my computer - just with Mozilla. Help says go to Tools / Options (I don't have OPTIONS in my list ???) then on from there. I tried to upload a picture of the options but won't allow. I have import / export / search messages / message filters / OpenPGP Key Manager / Download Manager / Activity Manager and Developer Tools. If I select Developer Tools it gives me a warning message then to code for various things. PLEASE HELP!!! Thank you in advance ;-)

Need to increase the spacing between messages in the message list window in Thunderbird. The solution provided in the forum thread "https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1314785" is not helpful.

Suddenly I can not receive my emails on Thunderbird. They do show up on my cell phone. When I send an email, I get the following, "Your message was sent, but a copy was not placed in your Sent folder due to network or file access errors. What can I do?? Beginner or Luddite Question - I am seeking something like outlook, but NOT OUTLOOK. I lost so many contacts, connections, data and usability from that POS. Let's be clear. I am seeking something that will support the following: -having multiple email addresses for multiple businesses and organizations all in one place. - the ability to have individual signature boxes for each email address supported (as many as 12) - Something that won't crash on me and F*** up everything -I don't care if I have to pay, I want everything in one place easy to utilize. - I want a third-party VA to be able to get in under a common sign in and work under my name

Can Thunderbird do all this and more without having to hire a $500 per hour techie? If someone is for hire, how much is the charge?
