G'day, I cannot understand why I cannot get to send any e-mails. I receive this popup. I have no idea what I did. I am in my 80s and was born too early to grasp a lot of I T.' I would appreciate somebody to tell me what I need to do please. Cheers Malcolm

My e-mail account was transferred from Verizon to AOL a few years back and I never experienced any problems until one sunny morning last week when I started getting the following message: "Sending of password for user pjklim did not succeed. Mail server pop.verizon.net responded: [SYS/TEMP] Server error - Please try again later." When I typed the password in the window that popped up the message reappeared. I know that AOL went to double login identification, so I suspect it might have something to do with that. I checked all my Thunderbird settings and they all appear to be correct. I verified the pop and smtp setting through a chat with AOL. What can I do? Regards Peter

On June 16, I sent an email which went through just fine. I haven’t been able to send a receive any emails since. I got an error message that said that sending the password did not succeed and that there was a server error on inbound.att.net. That was followed up by an error message that said that the login to that server failed. I tried entering the password I had but it didn’t work, so I changed the password and the new password didn’t work. I don’t know what else to do. I’ve tried turning off the computer and turning it back on, closing Thunderbird and reopening it. I hope you will be able to get this problem resolved quickly. Thanks in advance!

The solution was complicated. Here's a better, faster one:

Just copy the whole Thunderbird folder to the laptop.

Zip it with 7-zip using minimal compression, copy it to a portable hard drive or thumb drive, rename the existing Thunderbird folder on the laptop to Thunderbird.bak, and unzip the new Thunderbird folder to the laptop.

I had previously copied the Thunderbird folder directly to the portable drive, but that takes hours because of all the little files. 7-zip is faster.

As of Sunday, Thunderbird can no longer reach my ATT server to download email. It has behaved for ten to fifteen years. Last time someone at ATT fixed it. I have been on the phone or on screen with ATT most of my waking hours since Sunday. (In the process I lost my internet, my landline, my cell connection, etc.) Everything is restored except the connection between Thunderbird and ATT. Everyone thinks changing my password will do it. Done it four times. It gets me into the ATT mail. I have replaced the password in Thunderbird settings with it to no avail. Is there anything you can think of? Not only is Thunderbird more attractive than ATT, I have thirty years of mail boxes there, a continuation from Eudora. I will appreciate your wisdom.

My thunderbird configuration file in appdata/roaming is huge -- 8 GB. I was trying to clean out old stuff and deleted all the messages in Archives. Then I emptied the trash. BIG MISTAKE! all my gmail accounts now have an empty inbox. I'm not sure if when I delete a message from inbox, if it also deletes it from Archives. Why does TBird store my gmail inbox in archives? My configuration file is still 8GB, so maybe they are still out there somewhere.

Setting Up Thunderbird for AT&T Email I've used Thunderbird as my email client for years; however, about a month ago it stopped working and now I receive the following message, "Sending of password for user [email scrubbed] did not succeed. Mail server inbound.att.net responded: [SYS/TEMP] Server error - Please try again later". What do I need to do to get things working again in Thunderbird?

when i try to access my email i get the message LOGIN TO ACCOUNT FAILED. i found a page in this community which addressed this problem, but none of the suggestions solved the problem. it started 3 days ago. i can access my email online with FIREFOX, but when i tried with CHROME i could SEE the emails, but when i clicked on one, couldn't read it or do anything WITH it.

I keep getting an error message saying that I can't send emails due to being over the daily allowed threshold? I also am not really happy with this new updated version and wondered how I can go back to the previous one? I am unable now to set up my email page like it was before and can't get "folder, subject and from" headers on my email page? Thank you.

I keep getting this message...please advise, thank you: Sending of the message failed. The message was not sent due to exceeding the allowed number of recipients. The server responded: Insufficient system storage.

Four days ago the Att server started to refuse my password (I assume that was it). After four changes of password, including in Thunderbird, the password keeps being refused. Have exhausted several att agents who can't figure out why it doesn't work. One thought the server settings were correct.

Emails have stopped coming in to in box. Email works OK on Iphone with Gmail. When I send from account I get this message.

"Your message was sent but a copy was not placed in your sent folder (Sent) due to network or file access errors. You can retry or save the message locally to Local Folders/Sent-petermillward441@gmail.com."

Thunderbird ściąga mi cały czas pocztę i dubluje. Zapycha mi komputer. WIem, ze mam skrzynkę 50Gb a na dyzku mam prawie 200 Gb w pliku, wg mnie ściąga raz na jakiś czas pocztę. Co mam zrobić? Arek

Thunderbird downloads and duplicates my mail all the time. It's clogging up my computer. I know that I have a 50Gb mailbox and I have almost 200Gb of files on my disk, so I think it downloads e-mail from time to time.

I updated to 115.11.1 (32-bit) and unified folders will not appear and the option will not stay checked. I have exhausted my options. I previously had 64-bit with same issue so I deleted and installed 32-bit as some said this would help the issue ( I'm on 64-bit windows 10 OS).

I've tried deleting smart mailboxes, virtualfolder and jsontreefolder

nothing is working, I am at wits end. Please help!
