'just added 2nd gmail address to Thunderbird. Suddenly getting verification requests. I go through that process then asked for phone # for verification code only to be told the number already used too many times . Now what?

When I am deleting emails, I frequently end up with the same email as most recent in my inbox and thus automatically selected. This opens a new tab with the same email as content and soon my tab section is filled up with multiple versions of the same few emails and the inbox tab pushed off the screen.

Can there not be a setting to open up the existing tab if it has the same content. Or alternatively a way to pin the folder tab (normally inbox) on the left of the tabs permanently.

Other tabbed applications do not open up multiple tabs with the same content.

Yes I could shut the unwanted, repeated tab each time Thunderbird opens it, but I don't want to have to.

This seems like an easy feature? Please??

Hello, I use Thunderbird portable. I imported as Imap an existing account at Infomaniak.com but all the personal folders and subfolders were missing. No problem, just right-click on the account and choose "subscribe" ("s'abonner" in French), ticking all the proposed folders. So in IMAP it works, but if you set the account as Pop3, the "subscribe" function doesn't appear. I need Pop3 for an account to be imported into Thunderbird. How can I do this ?

I logged in my email account via thunderbird yesterday 04/16/2024, and all the emails retrieved since 03/16/2024, it looks like only 1 month emails retrieved. My email account set up on 02/27/2024, but I don't get all the emails from 03/15/2024 to 02/27/2024. I used pop - hwhzpop.qiye.163.com 995 and smtp- hwhzsmtp.qiye.163.com 465 to log in Foxmail server successful, and pop-pop.qiye.163.com 995 and smtp- smtp.qiye.163.com 465 to login outlook server successful. Could you help me to fix this issue? attached screenshot is the 1st email of 03/16/2024 retrieved.

We have been using Thunderbird with a Cox email account. Cox has just transferred all its customers to Yahoo. I want to use Thunderbird with Yahoo. How do I set that up?

As a longtime user and a regular subscriber to Mozilla, I can’t get access to Thunderbird. Reason is that I had to repair the hard drive and now I am locked out. I am unable to insert a master password because I never had one. Reason being that I have used Thunderbird for years and years before that was required. To say I am frustrated is an understatement. None of your automated advice has a remedy. Should I install a new version of Thunderbird and begin afresh? John Cotterell ( an Australian supporter of your project)

I have cox comm. for internet and emails, they just changed their server to yahoo.com. Now I cannot sign into thunderbird to send or receive emails.

After the latest update, Thunderbird does not open. On line instructions say to erase some programs in it's file location. Did that, and the program booted. However, today, it will not open again. Can you fix this issue with another release, or should I try to go back to the previous release? If so, how to go back to the previous release without losing all my set up? I can receive emails to my (protonmail.com server) email account on Thunderbird. But I cannot send emails. This is the error message. "Sending of the message failed. An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: Error: no such user. Please check the message and try again."

Cannot send email. Has there been a Thunderbird virus since last update? I conferred with Charter Communications and they were unable locate any problems. However, I did note early on that in settings Charter Communications was spelt incorrectly. (Commuications).

Cox.net is transitioning from in-house e-mail to e-mail handled by Yahoo.com. Our cox.net addresses are supposed to (and apparently have) transitioned so that they still work, but are processed through pop.mail.yahoo.com.

It is my turn to be transitioned and I have been successful in doing so to the extent that I can send and receive using my address(es) ...@cox.net through Yahoo web mail and on my Samsung phone. I have not, however, been successful in either sending or receiving mail using Thunderbird on my desktop.

I have been successfully using Thunderbird with POP settings for years with four different cox.net addresses. [I'm currently just trying to get two of them working -- unsuccessfully.]

I am using Windows 10 on a Dell desktop. I am using Thunderbird 115.9.0 (32 bit). I have reset the POP and SMTP settings as directed by Yahoo. One of the errors I receive is: "Error with Account .... Sending of password for ...@cox.net did not succeed. Mail server pop.mail.yahoo.com responded (SYS/TEMP) Server Error - Please try again later." It then asks me to retry or enter a new password. I have checked the passwords saved by Thunderbird and they are correct.

I suspect, that with all the Cox accounts being newly routed through Yahoo servers that I am not the only Thunderbird user experiencing this problem. Does anyone have any suggestions? Is it likely to help if I uninstall and reinstall Thunderbird? Would I loose all my mail, etc. if I did that? [I did the delete and add account in my phone and that was successful, but I wasn't concerned about losing mail there as it is all on my desktop.]

I have several users who are migrating email from Outlook, and they want me to confirm if the Thunderbird export will bring over:

• drafts
• sent mail
• deleted mail
• any subfolders in the mailbox

not receiving emails on my PC using thunderbird ,only gmail not receiving but bigpond email receiving ok.gmail is sending emails ok.pop server settings seem right .only stopped receiving emails for my gmail account on 06/04/2024.a week ago.please help ,many thanks greg . ps i can still receive emails on my iphone though.
