Backup and sync is not working on the phone and it's starting to piss me off beyond belief because this is why I got rid of Firefox in the first goddamn place. The sync button is not working at all I cannot get it to sync at all to my desktop nothing is working and I can't access my passwords I can't access nothing.

The android UI was updated in recent Firefox updates and it is now impossible to enable sync from an Android phone due to this change.

According to Firefox during setup the proper steps are:

1. Open firefox on your mobile device. 2. Go to the menu and tap "Sign In" 3. Tap Ready to Scan and hold your phone over this code.

The new android UI does not have one universal menu. Instead it includes a list that lets me:

• Bookmark a Page
• Find in Page
• Turn on Desktop Mode
• manage Extensions
• "More"

It also features:

• My Name for managing and backup/sync
• Settings

I'll enumerate the issues with this.

If I select More. This is different than the more settings options under "Settings". It allows me to:

• Translate the Page
• Add to Shortcuts
• Add to Home Screeen
• Save to Collection
• Open in App
• Save to PDF
• Print

All of these are irrelevant.

If I select my Account, the most obvious of these ambiguous choices. I can:

• Manage Account
• Sync Now
• Change the Device Name
• Sign Out
• Choose what to sync.

There is NO option here to scan a QR code. Manage Account leaves the app and opens a mozilla account webpage. None of these options work.

If I select "Settings" I receive a large list of useless options - none of which allow me to scan a QR code.

Since scanning the QR code is the ONLY way to enable syncing via the mobile app am I understanding correctly that Firefox has removed this feature and is mistakenly still advertising a deprecated feature inside their MacOS app which prevents me from actually ever signing in to my account.

If this is intended to still be a feature. How do I do it? The instructions are unclear and your UI does not help in any way to figure out how to navigate to the correct place where I might possibly be able to move forward in any manageable way.

I signed in to my account on a new PC and it asked something about if I have mobile phone and I said yes so it gave me a pop-up wit the following text: "Sync Firefox on your phone or tablet 1. Open Firefox on your mobile device 2. Go to the menu and tap Sign in 3. Tap Ready to Scan and hold your phone over this code" And I get stuck on step 2 I can't find a Sign In button, attached an image of what clicking the menu (...) button shows. So how exactly do I tell firefox that I want to sync between this machine and my mobile? I do have it working nicely with my laptop but I don't remember how exactly did I sync that, I kind of assumed just signing into the account would be enough enough but based on this pop-up it isn't.

Since the last update to version 148.0 on Android, it's no longer possible to send tabs between devices (reliably). When I try to send a tab from my android phone to my laptop, it says that it's unable to send. However, after a while it appears on my laptop anyways after a long delay, but not always. It works in the other direction, but the checkmark that usually appears does not show up, and there's also a time delay, but not as severe as in the other direction.

I've been using Firefox on Android for a couple of years. I love the way it collapses open tabs that have not been accessed for a while. I had maybe 40 of them that I refer back to from time to time.

Last night I opened Firefox to look something up and I had zero open tabs. I did nothing, nothing crashed, no error messages, no upgrades (that I'm aware of), nothing - just two years of collected reference material gone.

I use my Mozilla account to sync to my desktop browser (version 147.0.4 on Debian 13.3) and they're gone from there too.

Is there any chance I can get them back?

Version 147.0.4 from the Google Play Store on a Pixel 8 Pro with stock Android 16 and the January 5, 2026 security update.

1.syncronising in firefox mobile app is awful if you delete some tab witg your linux firefox it wont syncronise with your phone anymore and wont let you to sync manualy(the sync button will freeze) and even do if you dont do anything sync button will freeze and wont sync with linux firefox. when this happen i have to uninstall my firefox and reinstalled it.

Hello to all. I am writing to ask for help with sync for Android. I have 2 Samsung devices: my S24, which is my phone, and my Galaxy Tab S10 FE+, which is my tablet. I do have an HP laptop, running Windows 11. That device is fine.

I recently noticed both of my devices had the same model # shown up under my Firefox. {it was my tablet.} Idk why. So I read online, that I should sign out, then sign back in, to fix this. So I signed out on both devices, at the same time. I closed both windows, then I restarted both devices, & then signed back in, at the same time. My S24 is fine, but my S10 FE+ is not. It won't sync. So I repeated the same steps with it, and it still will not sync. So I went to my Mozilla Account, then Connected Services, to see the list of devices. I did note a duplicate device, not sure which one. There was no name. I did sign out of it there, but otherwise, everything else looks good. I also pulled up some articles online & troubleshooted, but again nothing. I'm now doing a hard reboot, which is where I turn it off, then wait for at least 5 minutes. Then I'll turn it back on. Nope, nothing. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to fix this, please? I have no idea as to how to go around the matter by manually doing everything like once a day. I mean, yikes. Thank you for any help, seriously.

I have multiple devices on Firefox. My desktop folders keep the same when it syncs bookmarks but the links are not related to the bookmarks in the tool bar. Otherwise the bookmark no longer takes me to the correct location

WAS ICH SCHON VERSUCHT HABE: 1. Firefox-Cache auf allen Geräten gelöscht (A/B/C/D) 2. Firefox-Daten auf Android B/C geleert 3. Alte Sync-Kontos server-seitig gelöscht (via accounts.firefox.com) 4. Neues Konto erstellt + sukzessiv alle Geräte angemeldet 5. WARTEN: 2+ Stunden gewartet → Keine Änderung

SYMPTOM: - Gerät D: 1.625 Lesezeichen LOKAL sichtbar ✓ - Gerät A/B/C: 0 Lesezeichen (komplett leer) ✗ - Sync-Status A/B/C: Zeigt „Sync enabled" + letzte Sync vor X Min - → Aber Lesezeichen kommen NICHT an

ZWEI FRAGEN: 1. Diagnose: Was kann ich konkret testen, um zu debuggen, warum Lesezeichen von Android D nicht syncen? (Bitte KEINE Verweise auf FAQ – ich benötige individuelle Anweisungen für dieses spezifische Problem.)

2. Fallback-Option: Gibt es eine Möglichkeit, die 1.625 Lesezeichen von Android D OHNE Sync zu sichern/exportieren (z. B. Datei, SQL-Export, Cloud-Backup)? Ich könnte sie dann manuell auf die anderen Geräte importieren.

Why don't you allow me to sync by logging in, I log in, you gave me the second authentication (wooow security) to my mail, I copy and paste it and you proceed back to the login page saying incorrect password. great job at forcing to qr code, congratulations.

For months I've been trying to sync my FF bookmarks between my android phone and my pc and vice-versa. And with no avail. I've looked at so many, many answers and upon trying them with no avail but, frustration. Surely, an extension for droid FF could be developed to freely sync bookmarks between a droid and a pc and from pc to droid.

I have read replies to this problem of "no ready to scan button to tap" but find no answer. I'm signed in to the App - there is no "ready to scan " button  ??? Please provide a solution.

Firefox has stopped syncing from my android phone. In the 'connected services' section of the account page it shows both my PC and phone connected. On the desktop it shows synchronised frequently updating (e.g. 24 seconds ago) but on phone it shows 'never'. It previously showed last sync as 14 days ago but I relogged (from both devices) to try to fix it. It just so happens that 14 days ago I added a new email address to login with my mozilla account (previous email became secondary), but I have checked and both devices are logged in with updated credentials.

Any ideas other than re-install?

I am unable to send tabs from my desktop devices to Firefox on my Android device.

- All devices are logged into Firefox Sync. - Sending tabs from Android to desktop works fine. - Attempting to send a tab from desktop to Android, nothing happens. Have tried with multiple different tabs from multiple desktop devices, it never makes it to my Android device. - Synced tabs works fine. I can see the open tabs on all my devices from all my other devices, and it stays up to date. - Have tried logging out of sync and logging back in. Didn't fix the issue.

Desktop devices are running Firefox v146.0.1 on Windows Android device is running v146.0.1 on Android 16 (Pixel 8 Pro)

My bookmarks have disappeared/ not transferred to my android phone, recently bought,

BUT, they have also disappeared off my computer which i have owned for more than five years.

Both are showing that I am signed into my account.

Yeah, hi, I'd love to just transfer to a new phone. Like when you just sign into the browser, you could copy all the stuff across. It's seriously like pulling dinosaurities. First, I've got to find a live dinosaur. What's wrong? Are you guys? Why would there be a problem of adding account food 15 years or something? And then I've gone to transfer to a new phone, I've even logged on that new phone, but I can't log in on this phone that's just lridiculous like a can't explain it
