It's too dangerous to use Firefox Sync to send myself Passwords list to Firefox's servers once. I don't like it.

For example, using QRCode and symmetric key cryptography, password information can be sent directly from a PC to a phone. I think so.

I just finished setting up my new pc with Windows 11 (Feb 2023 updates) and installed Firefox 110.0.1) and wanted to transfer my logins, passwords, etc, from my Android 12 Phone's Firefox 110.1.0, and other pcs. A window popped up giving instructions how to sync my phone, as follow:

• • • Sync Firefox on you phone or tablet. 1) open Firefox on your Mobile Device. 2) Go to the menu (<ios>&<android>menu examples shown) and tap sync and save data. 3. Tap ready to scan and hold your phone over this code.***

I'm 73, have used Firefox since first release in 2004. In all these years I have never seen SYNC in the instructions to "sync and save and to point the phone at a barcode-thingy" or at least not in this world. The instructions made it seem like SYNC was right there to see, but I had to dig thru layes of options to finally find it. You can blaim it on my 73 yr old brain, I guess, but nothing like these instructions exist in Windows or Android firfox. What in the world are your programmers smokin' these days. I would just as soon open up Edge or Chrome and did up the passwords I need to log into my banking and creditcard accounts...heck, it seems like MAYBE I should just dump Firefox after almost 20 years and just use those other browsers. At least there instructions are much simpler that this ol' man can follow. Please have someone review your published helps info on your webpages, and help those Sr. citizens like me to more easily find what we need without calling up grandsons or granddaughters for help (their parents are worse than I am at most techy stuff!) I rested my phone and reinstalled firefox logged in and tried to get my tabs back since i had sync previously activated but now i can't find how to get my 60 tabs back. Nothing is in the History to find.

When I attempt to sync my devices as explained in the help instructions, I do not get the option to "sync and save data " as described in the help instructions on my phone.

First off it set the search bar and menu at the bottom of the screen and I didn't know how to change that. Then I couldn't sync with all my account passwords and bookmarks previously saved on other apps. I had to delete the app because the idea of privacy is great and all but I need to get access to my preferred websites and accounts easily. If you can provide an easy fix I will give the app another try.

my usernames and passwords are not syncing....i have all my passwords and usernames saved on my pc....and I’ve synced all passwords and logins and can view them on both devices. ‘Autofill in Firefox’ and ‘Autofill in other apps’ are both on. But, when logging in to apps on the Samsung, autofill doesn’t work. Even if I fill in my email address, there is no password suggestion. Instead, a small dropdown message appears: ‘unlock Firefox’. It isn’t active, and doesn’t open anything when I tap on it. Result: I have to go looking for the passwords and fill them in manually. I hope there’s a solution. thank u in advance for your help. LL

Well, I scan the qr code, I login in the Website, it sends me to the account settings, and then nothing. Still not logged in to Firefox. Im using graphene OS, maybe it's some permission issue?

Neither "Ready to scan" nor "Use email instead" will log me into my account in Firefox. When I try to log in, I'm only logged into my account in that one single tab that I used for it, Firefox accounts says it's "Chrome Mobile 84". I'm unable to get Firefox itself to log in to my account at all.

I'm trying to follow the directions to sync my ipad and my samsung phone to the firefox browser on my computer and it's not working. When I go into the menu on my phone and ipad the "Sync and Save" option is not there
