What is this page, and how do I go back to the home page comcast.net? Who is "Mindspark" since it says it's the owner of the site when I click for more details. It says if you want to uninstall this just go to the "start" menu, "control panel" and "add/remove program" and select "MyWebSearch Bar" but this is not listed to add or remove. Can you tell me what happened and how to get my home page back? Thank you.

My Firebox browser had all of it's menu bars, address bars, and toolbars closed (to make room for a web screen on a Netbook). I am now left with the Tab area... and the title bar... but *nothing* else.
While in this state, I can't find any area of the interface where I can right click to "recheck" any of my bars... menu, address, or toolbars.
Is there a Windows registry setting that could get me started? Or perhaps a key click combination to enable any of those functions?
Right now I'm stuck with no ability to navigate to another site, or do anything other than open more tabs. :-)

Why do I persistently get this particular script error that makes my browser hang for dozens of minutes?

It has nothing to do with any of the extensions or plug-ins I have activated. The only ones I ever have activated almost all of the time are Status-4-Evar in the Extensions category, and Adobe Acrobat in terms of Plug-ins. Both of these are up to date. It's also not about hardware acceleration, I don't believe, because I've disabled that feature in my options.
No, the error seems to pop up when I'm dealing with "busy" webpages with a lot of graphics and such. I've tried all of the little tricks they have here in the help, and it's still not stoping the script. I use to get a similar perisistent script error on older versions of Firefox.

Starting in the last day or two, every time I start Firefox, in addition to my homepage, I get a nuisance tab that is checking my plugins. I need to disable this stupid function or I will have to discontinue using Mozilla Firefox after 20 years as a faithful Mozilla user. I am happy with, and have no intentions of upgrading, my version of Firefox (3.6.17). I also have no intentions of upgrading my Flash plugin as newer versions are incompatible with an online activity in which I engage.
I have followed instructions in the user forum for changing the status of plugins.update.notifyUser from true to false in "about:config", but it apparently resets itself to true. None of the user forum suggestions correct this problem. If this unwanted, stupid tab cannot be disabled, I guess I will have to abandon Mozilla, both for Firefox and Thunderbird, and pursue options that do not force unwanted content on the user.
In addition, it seems impossible to actually speak to anyone at Mozilla about the problem. So hopefully someone will answer this question with a solution to the problem.

When I first click on Firefox my monitor shows an all black window for a home page. A small rotating circle shows up on the black window; the indicator that a web site is loading. After a few seconds the circle goes away and for a flash the screen shows the url itself of my established home page, with a bit of an outline of that opening. Just as quickly, that disappears and the window goes black again. I can close it by right clicking on the Firefox logo and selecting "close all windows," and I can minimize it by using the windows key and the letter M. I feel that the correct screen is underneath the black window, but to which I have no access.
Before all this happened the search engine Ask had made itself the home page for Firefox without my consciously asking for that. By going to the control panel and the Internet entry, I removed what had become the url (of Ask's supplied home page) in the choice for home page, with my usual one (www.excite.com). That's when the above trouble started and remains.
Obviously, I am writing this contact to the Internet and a different machine. On the computer with the problem I couldn't see what I am doing. I could have also used Windows Explorer on the troubled machine; it has not been affected with the same problem.

After updating to Firefox 27 all webpages take a few dozen seconds to several minutes to load. When loading a webpage Firefox's status displays "connecting" and the CPU gets maxed out with 95 to 100% of its cycles taking by Firefox.
The computer is older so it is a little slow but Internet Explorer 8 has no trouble opening the webpages and neither do other computers on the LAN so it is not a network issue. I have tried restarting Firefox, disabling add-ons, deleting add-ons, disabling hardware acceleration, restarting the computer, and reinstalling Firefox after wiping every trace of it and its user data from the hard drive and registry.
CPU: AMD Athlon 2800+ 2.08GHz RAM: 1GB OS: Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 3 32bit

This happens with every webpage that isn't from Google or Mozilla. If I hit Cancel, the webpage won't load, if I select Save As, no program I have can open it and if I select Open With, same situation. So... what gives? What's an application/octet-stream? Why won't Firefox open webpages apart from Google or Mozilla pages (my previous version of Firefox worked fine)?

I've been using firefox for a really really long time, i notice that it is happining when I use any flash video , website, game especialy when enter to youtube , i got these shockwave errors. I can't recall downloading anything and I must have uninstalled and reinstalled the flash player at least many times. It's honestly starting to frustrate me. I love firefox, but if the browser refuses to work, I probably won't be using it for much longer. I tried every thing that I found in this forum but it is unusefull to me .
