Hi, first time writing here so I don't know what to do or expect. I recently received a warning by Firefox that as of March 14, 2025 Firefox will end support for Windows 8 (8.1 and below too) and that the last version compatible with Windows 8 is Firefox 115ESR (up to which? Before in Settings Firefox wanted to update from 115.0.3 to 115.0.3ESR now it says 115.1ESR - is this still ok for Windows 8? Are all 115 versions ok or not? Please help because I'm not a computer person, at all, with far too many gaps). Also, what happens after March 14, 2025? Will I be able to keep using Firefox 115ESR version even if I won't be getting any more updates or not? Also, I have extensions (4 ad blockers+Ghostery+VideoDownload helper) which keep updating and the warning said that extensions may not work properly anymore - so I wonder if you know if these above mentioned will in fact be affected or not, because I don't know whether to update them after March 14, 2025 or not because I'm not sure how to go back to a previous version should they not work. Too, I would like to say that you suggest switching to a newer Windows ver. (10 or above) but not everyone really wants to for one reason or another. Personally I find myself fine with Win 8 so far and don't like Win 10 while Win 11 may be too much for my old computer and I cannot afford to buy another. Also I would not attempt to upgrade to Win 10 without help (considering that others more expert had difficulties making it work or reverting back to Win 8) help that I do not have, at all - that's why I'm here now, and I don't really understand how this works either, so... Anyhow, reading on that warning page that after March 14, 2025 you would reconsider your position regarding support for Win 8.1, 8 and below (and knowing also that Chrome and Edge have ended their support - effectively leaving users stranded or forcing them to upgrade to a Windows version unwillingly) I would like to plead with you NOT to follow their example and help us, your supporters, keep using Firefox (which you say is for the people) - like I said many of us have good reasons for keeping on using Win 8.1 or below, so won't you please, PLEASE help us keep Firefox as our browser so that we too may keep using Internet? I know technology goes forward and staying behind makes all more difficult but not all can afford the same things and since I have found that there are a few of us yet I am asking to PLEASE not abandon us as others have done (leaving us to manage the best we can) but consider our plight (I know it might be a challenge for the engineers and developers but surely you can find a solution at least to allow us to keep using Firefox). Thank you.

My MacOS is 10.13.6 (cannot go higher on this machine). Since update to 15.119.0esr, embedded map graphics are no longer showing. The map graphic sub-window instead shows "Sorry, we have no imagery here" in several places across the map. I am getting the same for multiple websites, including the location maps in Zillow.com . Google Maps works fine, and I think the problem is isolated to maps embedded in pages. Did not have this issue last week, prior to updating to 15.119.0esr. This is SO BAD that if it's not fixable, I want to revert to 15.118...

I'm using Linux Mint 17.3 (Rosa). Firefox version is 78.7.1 esr-linux amazon. I want to update to the latest Firefox that would work with this version of Linux Mint. It seems maybe this can't be done anymore. Looking at Firefox software on the machine, it says it's Up to Date. I really still want to update it. I know Mint 17.3 is really old and will replace it. Firefox does work, but I'm now getting sluggish Internet because Firefox can't handle all the security requirements. So many web pages don't very well anymore. Can someone help?

I am running Windows 7 Professional. I can not justify the cost of updating Installed versions of Applications at my age (86) if I were to update from Windows 7. Could you please advise a work-around to allow me to continue to use Firefox V 94.0.1 reliably after 25 March 2025. Thank you Graham Garden

I accidentally downloaded a newer version of Firefox on my iMac but it is too old to run it. Now I have no way to download an older version that I use to have. Don’t have any suggestions? Thanks

I use a 2009 Mac Mini running OS 10.11.6 dedicated for streaming. I was prompted to update Firefox to ESR which I did, replacing the older version of Firefox. The new version will not open.

It was the only browser I had. Can I undo the installation? Or download 78.15.0 somehow to restore the functionality of this Mac?

Please forgive me if this already exists here (I suspect it does). Search tools did not yield what I was looking for.

TOPIC: Extended Support for Firefox 115 ESR

First, let me extend a hearty thank you to everyone on the Mozilla team and in the community that is continuing work on 115 ESR. This is helping a number of people that cannot upgrade for various reasons.

115 ESR is the last hope for many who are stuck on macOS 10.12-10.14 or Windows 7-8.1. While these systems are considered *very* out-of-date (users who are still on them are often chastised) they have a place. macOS for example, completely removed any and all support for 32-bit software as of macOS 10.15 ("Catalina"). I have encountered people with needs for 32-bit to run older apps and so they often keep a system running 10.14 ("Mojave").

Now, can old 32-bit configurations be kept around and isolated offline? Yes. But for some out there who cannot afford to upgrade, or cannot be with out specific 32-bit software, they would be forced offline completely (assuming they follow best security practices, which many do not). I have personally deployed 115 ESR on a number of systems to help people in this situation.

For the time being, ESR 115 is permitting these users to stay online with some degree of security, at least where web browsing is concerned.

QUESTION: Besides active user count, what other factors are keeping 115 ESR in active security-only support mode?

There are no OS updates available for my computer hardware (nor have there been for quite a few years), just to quash that right off the bat.

The last release for 10.11 is 78.15.0esr (64-bit).

A number of websites do not load or outright refuse to load (the whole cloudflare hosting system, imgur, daily motion, youtube nags about it, even the login system for mozilla support renders quite oddly).

So I'm requesting an updated release. I realize there may be limitations due to libraries that have similarly abandoned 10.11. Thanks.

Firefox today advised me to upgrade as my current version will cease to function in the near future. I am currently running Win 7 x64 and Firefox 102.10.0 esr . Attempting to update results in a request if running Win 7,8 or 8.1 to also download and run additional 115.18.0esr . Attempting to run either 115.18.0esr OR Firefox 128.5.2esr results in a screen stating firstly "Windows 10" and secondly "Unable to install this version requires Win 7 x64 or newer". Win 7 x64 IS the version I'm running.

Hello, I am experiencing unexpected behaviour with local storage in Firefox Portable ESR 102.1.0 on Windows 11. In particular, the data is not deleted as expected after closing the application, even after clearing the cache in my code, the data persists when I open the application the next time. This behaviour is observed under windows10 but is common under windows11.

I suspect that this issue may be related to:

• Interactions between Firefox Portable's cache management and Windows 11's system-level caching
• Specific behavior of the ESR 102.1.0 version on Windows 11

I would appreciate it if you could investigate this issue and provide any insights or solutions.

thank you for your time & expertise:) Can you please help me understand what would happen if firefox stops supporting windows 7 users. Will i still be able to use the browser - just with less security? I will probably have to give up using a computer if I cant continue with Windows 7 so I'd even be prepared to pay an annual fee to keep the support going. I really need to use Firefox version 52ESR.MSI as I need to push it through Active Directory.

I have tried downloading the version from https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/52.0.1esr/ ,however there is no MSI version that I can see.

I also tried downloading from https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/desktop-esr/win64-msi/en-US/ but the last version is 115.

I also tried third party sites like oldversion.com but I couldn't find it.

Is there anyway I can get this version of firefox? It's really important to me.

I use a Firefox browser and a few days ago I got a message on my screen saying I wouldn't be able to use it after January 2025. I didn't read the message properly so I can't give any details.

I have looked at system requirements to update my current version but as I will explain it is not possible for me to update: I am using an old iMac - OS X version 10.9.5 The firefox version is 78.15.0esr (64-bit)

To update I need to have at least Mac OS 10.12 or later.

I am not computer literate so I cannot update my Operating System so I won't be able to download a more recent version of Firefox browser.

• Will my current version still work after January (but with no new security updates)?
• or will I not be able to use my Firefox browser at all?
