I tried to post this question in the correct forum, but there is no option to choose Firefox Send as a product when asking a question. The Firefox Send forum at https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/firefox-send appears to be empty and I didn't see a way to post there directly.

An email account at my school district was recently compromised and had sent out 122 malicious phishing links via Firefox Send before we stopped it and took control of the account back. I have the list of malicious Firefox Send links and I'd like to share them with the proper people at Mozilla so something can be done.

The files are all password-protected archives (I know the passwords) that contain malicious VBS files which have their code heavily obfuscated. I haven't yet tried to figure out what the VB scripts do - I was hoping a cyber security professional would be willing to take a look.

Someone please contact me so I can at least try to get the files taken down.

If I were to make a feature request for Firefox Send, it would be to add a button to report a file as malicious.

A recent up date to Zonealarm flagged a part (might have even been the executeable) of Firefox as having some malware, and automatically quarantined it, with the consequence that was unable to use it. It wouldn't even open. Consequently, I had to clean the remainder out and reinstall FF and set it up again to my liking. Since then, Email Link is not working properly. In fact it runs wild and is difficult to stop. In the Options>>Application I have mailto set to Use Microsoft Outlook just as it was before the reinstall which worked correctly. Now what happens is it gets itself into a never-ending reiteration or opening a new tab in FF, which then does something to open a new iteration of Outlook with the legend Navigation to the webpage was cancelled as shown in the attached screenshot. This somehow manages to open another new tab in FF and so on and so forth, until I manage to stop it. Below is the address I was testing with in a separate FF instance, and was a link to Google which is normally my default New Tab page (don't judge!) mailto:?body=https%3a%2f%2fwww.google.co.nz%2f&subject=google I don't recognise much of the items on the menu bar, and if I click on the drop down menu where the above address appears, all it comes up with is Add or Remove buttons. I am rather at a loss of where to go with this. The version of Office that I am using is Office 2003 as it is the last without the damned ribbon, which I hate. I hope someone can come up with a solution for this, so thanks in advance.

If I don't want the same Firefox bookmarks on every device, do I need to create different accounts for each device using Firefox?

I avoided creating an account because I didn't want one pc to override others. Now suddenly my office pc has had the bookmarks taken for ransom because I did not want what they were offering of syncing all my devices.

Will my bookmarks reappear if I create an account for that pc?

Approximately 2 wks ago I allowed a support tek located in India to remotely access my computer to fix a problem I was having on my computer. After resolving the problem he asked me for my credit card # so he could charge me for fixing the problem, which I had clearly advised him at the very beginning of our conversation I wouldn't give him remote access to my computer if there was going to be a cost involved.

He became very agitated and abusive and threatened to call #411 and report me to whomever answered that number.

In addition, HE REFUSED TO DISCONNECT FROM MY COMPUTER AND HE REMAINED ON THE PHONE AND IN MY COMPUTER, DURING WHICH TIME I COULD SEE HIS CURSOR MOVING ALL AROUND MY SCREEN!

IT FINALLY OCCURED TO ME THAT I COULD PROBABLY GET RID OF HIS PRESENCE ON MY COMPUTER BY SHUTTING IT DOWN, WHICH I DID. WHEN I REBOOTED MY COMPUTER, MY HOME SCREEN WHICH HAD BEEN LOADED WITH APPROXIMATELY 30 ICONS OR SO NO LONGER INCLUDED THESE ICONS!

NOTHING LIKE THIS HAS EVER HAPPENED TO ME DURING ALL THE YEARS I HAVE BEEN USING A COMPUTER & I AM BESIDE MYSELF WITH WORRY OVER THE POSSIBILITY THAT BEFORE I SHUT DOWN MY COMPUTER AND I COULD SEE HIM MOVING HIS CURSOR ALL AROUND ON THE SCREEN, HE WAS ABLE TO COLLECT ALL MY MOST IMPORTANT INFORMATION ----- BANK ACCT NUMBERS! 401K PLAN! ALL MY SAVED PASSWORDS TO ALL PERSONALL ACCTS! ---- YOU NAME IT, HE MUST HAVE BEEN COLLECTNG ALL OF THIS INFO TO USE AS HE WISHED IN THE FUTURE!

ARE THERE ANY STEPS I CAN TAKE TO PROTECT MYSELF FROM IDENTITY THEFT BY THIS TERRIBLE SUPPORT TEK, SHORT OF DESTROYING MY COMPUTER????!!!! YOUR IMMEDIATE REPLY WOULD BE SO GREATY APPRECIATED. THANK YOU. M.WINTERS.

Firefox attempts to connect to a website with a known trojan every time a different website is chosen. Both Bitdefender and Malwarebytes block it. Windows Defender doesn't recognize it that I can tell. It's very annoying!

This is on a 64-bit platform using Widows 10 Home, with all updates applied, using the latest version of Mozillla Firefox. Microsoft Edge doesn't exhibit the same behavior. Haven't tried Internet Explorer.

Please fix Firefox.exe

Hackers have taken control of my Firefox and are maliciously using developer mode to alter settings and change behavior. They have hidden help/feedback icon so I can't send emergency info to firefox. They repeatedly change privacy settings for gmail on firefox to capture/alter my emails. They turn off my google sign in which has protected mode always on so they can load porn, inflammatory politics or foreign crap onto my youtube "recommended videos." They have posed as me and signed up for "developer" software in firefox that manipulates the entire account. They used a different email address and sign in to github on my own computer to do this, and I don't know the email address and can't do this. All of the info in my firefox account is now repeatedly tampered with. They also pose as developers throughout my computer and maliciously change everything. My computer is for an individual, myself who isn't part of any organization and shouldn't have organization "administrators. Can't firefox recognize that these are hackers and eliminate them?

I've realised that once in a while my anti-virus (BullGuard) detects Trojan and I didn't think much of it because I thought my anti-virus would just get rid of it but just about 10 minutes ago (BullGuard detected it at 20:53) and when I open it and realise it's detected a Trojan about 5-6 times and it's automatically put it to quarantine which I have now deleted and forgot to screenshot beforehand, but it seems Trojan is attached to firefox somehow? I got Firefox about 2-3 weeks ago-ish so I am not sure why this is happening and I am concerned, is there anything I can do? I am currently running two full scans with BullGuard and Malwarebytes. Any suggestions would be highly appreciated.

I recently observed that when I visit a certain page (not a website, but a certain page in the website), it seems to be attempting to load flashing the "X" repeatedly. After a few seconds it stops and within 10 seconds I am then redirected to a scam survey website asking me how satisfied I am with my internet provider. I immediately assumed the worst and ran McAfee scans, cleared cache, Malwarebytes free trial scans and no joy.

Then I logged into another computer and loaded up the same page. Please note instead of logging into Firefox and clicking on my bookmark, I simply went to the website, logged in and went to the page. It is the same link in the end. Nothing happened. I thought it was something wrong with my PC at this stage.

I then decided to log into Firefox to see if that would yield different results. I logged in on the other computer that had not presented the spam yet. I clicked the bookmark and it did it. The spam page loaded. From this I understand whatever is causing the problem is in my Firefox Account data.

I then immediately logged out of Firefox on the second computer, uninstalled it and then redownloaded it. Without logging in, the spam still comes up. I am lost. Neither McAfee, Malwarebytes or AdwCleaner find it.

The link for the spam is different every time, usually ending in ".xyz".

Before the spam was present, the page always had a normal padlock beside the URL. Now,sometimes not always, when the spam is going to come up it has an orange warning symbol and say some elements are not secure, and it says something about images.

The page it occurs on is on eBay, and I have used this site no problem for years. It only occurs on my regional message page specific to my country, not on the message page on "ebay.com".

Any help greatly appreciated.

I had several weird things happen this morning with my Mozilla Browser. Ultimately I had to re-download it and I then tried to setup a Mozilla Account to hopefully secure it. When I entered my email address z @comcast.net I received the verification code in my inbox but the new account display gave error code email returned misspelled.

I'm afraid my browser was hacked for my saved bookmark information and access. When I did get it back after rebooting Mozilla requested a new profile so I created "default user - zisses no additional user".

I then went back in and created the support account under the email x @gmail.com - I have attached below both of the verification codes I recieived from trying to create the support account. The zpggre account does not grant me access so can you be sure someone isn't accessing my information with it's use and please let me know what if anything is fraudulent and shut if down?

Hi, For the add-ons section, I think all the add-ons should be scanned.

=================

it is not my fault that if I download an add-on, it turns out to be a malicious add-on that executes remote codes. You are telling me: "This is not monitored for security through Mozilla's Recommended Extensions program. Make sure you trust it before installing." How can I trust it if I don't know anything about it?? or if it is new? -Most of people here who are downloading add-ons are normal users like me, not people who understand codes and developing.- Read reviews?? Do I understand from you that some people have to sacrifice for us so the rest can know if it is bad or good add-on? And by the way Reading reviews is not enough, For example Few months ago I downloaded a VPN similar to another one, lots of reviews say it is good, so I used it for maybe 1 month then I disabled it and stopped using it. Today I look at it in the disabled add-ons list, I find this message: "VPN has been disabled due to security or stability issues." I read more information about it, it turned out that it was executing remote codes....... That means I shouldn't even trust reviews!! Nothing happened to my firefox browser, but (it may happen) in the future, because of the already executed remote codes or or maybe those codes stole some information about me,....I don't know, but it may get worse who knows what those executed codes do.....

=============================

Now after I provided my (((important))) suggestion, I need an advice please what should I do now?? Should I now reinstall this browser and clean it and remove all of the history? Or change my passwords in ((every site)) I visited?? or what? Thank You Very Much.

Ad if I want to search the page of Google (google.it in my case) the browser blocks the connection and says: "Connection broken: potential security risk".

Out of the blue I received a message stating I was being attacked on my Mac by software that maybe Ransomware. I was asked to close and delete the files.

I run Mac Os 10.14.6 and have never had any previous problems. After quarantining these files I quit Firefox and then could not open it. I therefore deleted the .app and reinstalled Firefox 75. I can only start up Firefox by using the Terminal Command window using the Profile manager. I created a new profile but cannot see my old profile within the Profile Manager. I can find the old profile under Profile's in Application Support/Users. So despite having a new default set created, I still cannot get the Firefox.app to open by clicking on it. I have now deleted the old profile and still cannot open the Firefox app from the dock or applications folder.

help please!

I could never find out why I got the message "Ransomware may be trying to access my computer", except two files have appeared in my bin; Edgar Poe Murder and Righteous Games.

Any help appreciated.
