Yahoo mail doesn't work w/Firefox. I can't log in unless I delete all cookies, EVERY TIME. Then the date/time stamp is incorrect. But all works fine in Chrome.

Since updating to Firefox 70, I can't access the ATT log in page. Or rather, I CAN access the page, but the login form (user name/password) quickly disappears. So I can't log in. Which means I can't access my emails. After poking around, I read that the solution is to delete all cookies, cache, etc. But I have to do this EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. This is uniquely a Firefox issue, and a new issue. I can easily log into and access my ATT/Yahoo email with Chrome and on my iPhone,
Once I do log in (after deleting all cookies), starting yesterday, the email time stamp is wrong. It's 8 hours ahead. My ATT account settings are correct. And my emails on Chrome show the correct date and time. So this again is a Firefox issue.
How can I fix this? Or is this a bug with the latest version of Firefox?

Hi, whenever I want to download something, Firefox shows me a Opening window. If I mistakenly select the "Open with" button, a file is downloaded to my /tmp/ directory and then opened with an application, which takes a huge amount of RAM for stuff like iso.
The another thing is that it's very annoying and takes a lot of time if you want to download many files from many websites. You have to manually choose save file for all the files you download, and the "Do this automatically for files like this from now on" option is greyed out.
Is there a way disable the "Opening" window and just download the files I wish to download?

I always use the last version of Firefox 64-bit by automatic updates (currently updated to 70.0.1) on the last version of Windows 10.
On the page "Plugins" of the "Add-ons Manager" it's been years that in a yellow banner I see "OpenH264 Video Codec provided by Cisco Systems, Inc. will be installed shortly."
I've read that it should be installed automatically. Why is it not done on my computer (running on Windows 10 64-bit) ?
And if it is possible to do it manually,.. how to ? (Good to know: I'm not developer at all, I perfectly use the directories and the Windows registry but I'm just a single user)
I have the same issue with Widevine... but for this one, I don't really care (at least for the moment) knowing not at all what is its purpose.
Thanks for your replies to help me definitely solve this weird permanent situation !
Kind regards, Jacques (from France)

I'm still using an older version of firefox to keep essential add-ons that Quantum no longer had. I'm having problems on a windows 7 computer with the version I have on it, and would like advice on the best way to proceed.
I had copied over my profile from a different computer where I'd been using FF55. I'd had some problems with 55, so I installed 52 on this computer, but using that profile. It's not working very well as I can't get vertical tabs or vertical tabs reloaded to work, it's also crashing fairly often for no apparent reason, etc. Now even the "+" symbol to add a new tab has disappeared from the tab bar, and I don't have a clue why or how to get it back!). For what it's worth, this isn't a malware/virus problem - I'm running McAfee and also periodically malwarebytes etc., and scans aren't finding problems. Computer has been restarted several times and so on, and I'm still having the problems. Could this be because the profile was from a firefox 55 version and it's being used on a FF52 version? Or would that not cause this sort of problem?
I don't want to go to 56 because I gather it won't be able to access my older saved sessions (I use Session Manager and those are the sessions I'm concerned about - so if this is NOT a problem, please let me know). I'm concerned about this because wiki says: "...Another change was the introduction of the mozlz4 format, a proprietary variant of the lz4 compression format (.mozlz4 and .jsonlz4 file extensions instead of .json.lz4 as per unix/linux standard). Session data is stored in the lz4 format instead of plain text. Firefox 56 can not recognize the legacy plain text session files, only the lz4-encoded ones...."
So I'm wondering if I should go to 55 on this computer, or 52ESR? I gather the ESR would have better security - but want to know if there's a difference in add-on compatibility or other features since 52ESR is, I gather, based on older code than 55?
If someone could talk me thru the pros and cons of using 55 versus 52ESR I'd sure appreciate it!!!
Also, I would be VERY grateful if folks could point me towards: 1. a reasonably safe site where we can search and install legacy add-ons 2. any webpage which has a good information showing which legacy add-ons now have reasonable replacements in the current FF version.

I have downloaded 70.0.1 on my MacBook Pro, and on my iPhone. I have synced them. But no matter what I do, the only version of Firefox that stays on my laptop is 68 something, with the ESR update system.
The last time I downloaded 70.0.1, I anchored the icon to my toolbar. When I click on that, the download box appears again.
How do I get 70.0.1 to replace the ESR-linked 68 something on my computer? How do I remove myself from the ESR updates?
Thanks in advance!

After the release and subsequent auto update of firefox 70.1 I had NO internet access. Anytime I attempted to open the browser I got an error page saying Can Not Connect. Finally after using a restore point dated Oct.25 I was able to acess the net and download sites again but I can no longer stream video from Netflix or Amazon Prime Video. Hulu and other sites are not affected. Netflix said refreshing firefox would work. It DID NOT. Amazon says the latest version of firefox is needed to restore functionality. That version kills my ability to access the web. I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit on an older HP with AdBlocker Plus and HTTPS Everywhere. Any ideas ?

I have a new Windows 10 computer. I downloaded the bookmarks from Firefox on my old Windows 7 computer and uploaded them to Firefox on the new computer. I can see that the bookmarks are there, but they are not displaying across the top of my screen as they did on the old computer. I had many "categories" listed across the top, such as Music, Food, etc., with many bookmarks on the dropdown from each category. How do I get those categories to display across the top of my screen? Thanks for your help!!!

There are several posts on this site regarding uninstalling Firefox. I am running current Firefox on current W10 64bit 1903 desktop PC using Ethernet with Spectrum as my ISP. I am having a couple of problems in Firefox that are not happening in current Chrome. 1. Page-not-found 2-8 times a day that resolve every time by simply clicking the "retry" (or something close to that) button. I reset my router to "factory" and installed most current router firmware but that did not help. Netgear Support has been unable to help. 2. In current LastPass addon, I have to re-login to LastPass every time I start Firefox - did not used to do that (a year ago), and in Chrome or Edge that does not happen. I have re-installed the LastPass add-on. I have upgraded Firefox many times and have cleared history/cache many times. So now I want to COMPLETELY remove Firefox, reboot, and then install Firefox from scratch. Can someone please point me to the web page that tells me how to properly remove all of Firefox so that I can re-download/install it from the beginning? I do not care about retaining my Firefox settings or other from my current Firefox install.

I have FF 68.2.0ESR 32bit on Win7. I now want to move to a different machine, using Linux (RHEL8) with FF 68.1.0 ESR 64Bit. I transferred the profile from the Windows machine to the Linux machine and everything came over perfectly. But the passwords are not offered after selecting a login. Example: There is a page with "login" and "password". I have two accounts for this page. I click into "login" and both login-names are offered by firefox. I select one account. Now I'd expect that the password is filled automatically. But it isn't. Even if I click also into the "password" field. The same with pages where I have only one account.
I found some threads where key3.db is mentioned. I searched in my profile folder and didn't find a key3.db but a key4.db. I created a copy of key4.db and named it key3.db. No success. The permissions of the files where 600 (rw-------). Ich changed them to 644. -> No success.
What might be missing here?

I tried to download some item I bought off Humbundle, I could only download 1 file, and nothing else. The page has a Bulk downloader, in this case, select the PDF box and download all the files that are PDF on the page, lets say 20 without counting.
1 will download, I click the individual links and nothing. Refreshing the page, I can download 1, and no more.
All the files were torrent links, though I doubt it matters Personally I don't see how a third party download tool would help, even the linked responses and original question were not related.
Using firefox 70 on Linux Mint
On a unrelated note, I do hope that this is not a forum where you must logon and check it daily, after creating this, I found an older submission I had forgotten about with several responses, I wish I had gotten an email letting me know I had a response.
This is the response I got from Humblebundle, this is included because I know the first response will be it is not firefox it must be the site.

Thanks for writing in! I'm sorry to hear about the trouble.
I believe this is an issue of your browser blocking multiple download from the same site. I have attempted the bulk downloader myself on Chrome and had success with the bundle you mentioned, so that is the only factor I believe may be holding you back. There is an article regarding this issue for the Firefox browser here:
Installing that add-on may help you correctly download the products in question.
If you continue having trouble, let me know and I can discuss this issue with my team further. We may not be able to provide an immediate solution, but we can hopefully address this issue in future updates to this feature.

I would like to disable the forced automatic update restarts and the only solution I can find is via policy disabling all updates.
This isn't what I want, because I do want to be updating Firefox regularly, but I do not want it to interrupt things I am in the middle of working on to do it by *refusing to load pages* until I restart it.
This is a nightmare when working on things that require multiple tabs, or worse when I'm submitting something via a form as this restart page and forced restart destroys what I was doing.
I would be happy for it to automatically install the update on next restart. I will tolerate nag screens to remind me to restart the browser as soon as is practical. I *cannot* tolerate it absolutely ruining what I was doing by suddenly showing a demand to restart instead of the page I just submitted, or having something half written I need to check something for in another tab to find that I cannot do that and so cannot finish what I was doing before restarting.
This update process is hostile, and disabling updates entirely is not at all what I want to do, I just want to control where my workflow is interrupted and avoid LOSS of work. But I can only seem to find the extreme options of no updates at all, or automatic updates that will randomly ruin what I am doing.
If this is the new reality for Firefox I'll have to find something else to use, but having spent several hours trying to find a fix for this - and this not being the first time I looked as this has impacted me several times previously - even if there is a workaround it's incredibly poor form to not allow this option in a simple manner or to have such information easy to find.

I have transferred my Firefox profile according to this description: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profiles-where-firefox-stores-user-data
I have Firefox 70.0.1 64bit on a Windows 7 PC, I want to use Firefox with the same profile on a new Windows 10 PC. What I did: 1) I copied the profile folder xxxxxx.default to a stick 2) Installed Firefox on the Windows 10 PC 3) Located the "default" Profile folder 4) Copied the content of my old profile folder to that "default" Profile folder, overwriting files
On 1st start, Firefox looked fine, restoring all my tabs. On 2nd start, I had no tabs, no bookmarks, nothing
What can I do?

I would like a simple answer to getting my passwords and logins back , or revert to an older versiob of FF. I am V 70 something and on Windoze 10 In the future how do I save older versions so that when I run into a problem after an update, ( about one in three) I can dump the update until someone puts the FU right. I looked at replacing key3. V70 has Key4 and I am extremely pissed off about this. Why oh why do the updated keep rolling out so often without being bug checked?????

Scenario: I am an SDET, I am required to automate a test which requires an addon to be installed on firefox browser.
Even After setting xpinstall.signatures.required as false, I was not able to load the addon, upon seeing the above thread The possible solution left was to use firefox-developer edition. But I need to mimic the behaviour of addon as an enduser would do. (End users use stable version). Also, as an automation engineer, I am using an unsigned addon in the staging environment and NOT production environment.
So, What is the way to load the unsigned addon in firefox stable (not developer edition) ?

I have been using Firefox since inception. Personally, I loath update time cos it normally means change - the only change i could notice this time (70.0) was the logo. Anyway, the desktop pc updated fine but when i came to use my laptop at the weekend Firefox was nowhere to be found and wouldn't respond to any icon clicks and in Windows control panel 'Programs & features' suggested that it may have been uninstalled. Frustrated, i decided to fully uninstal and download and re-install afreash. However, after doubleclicking the .exe Firefox install file the process stalls after unpacking saying "You may not have the necessary permissions to use all the features of the program you are about to run. You may run this program as a different user or continue to run the program as the current user." The two options are; run as current user or run as administrator (with associated password field). Choosing the first option then stalls the instal process. Choosing the second option there is a login or password conflict, even though the current user 'is' the administrator account. Help required please.
