I laboriously curated the Firefox bookmarks toolbar on one Windows device, which has retained those settings. On every other device using Firefox and signed in to the same Firefox account, Windows or macOS, the first ten or so bookmarks are where they should be, the rest are not only randomly ordered but retain bookmarks that were deleted on the curated Firefox machine. Signing in and out of the accounts on any of the machines does exactly nothing, simultaneously signing out and in on all the machines(recommended on some posts about this topic) is physically impossible given that the machines are in different physical locations. I was hoping to switch to Firefox from another browser that does not have this particular problem, but apparently that is not to be. TBH this is about as far as I am willing to go, if Firefox can't do what its supposed to do I can't fix it.

All the bookmarks at the top of the Firefox page have suddenly disappeared from view. How do I get them back in view? They are still there if I look under "Bookmarks," but not as accessible.

Running Firefox 108 on Mac OS Mojave, version 10.14.6. I did nt make any recent changes.

Hi everyone

I can no longer drag a bookmark to a folder and insert it where I need to in the folder, which previously was very useful.

Now when I drag a bookmark and try to insert it where I need to it defaults to inserting it as the first / top bookmark in the folder. Which means I have to drag it a second time to its desired position.

Please could anyone advise about how to get the functionality back.

I have three problems. One is, as my title, I have to do Ctrl D two times to have "Edit Bookmark". The second is, frequently, the link that I open in another tab reaches nothing. Sometimes, reenter it in the tab (and press Enter) works, sometimes not. Sometimes, enter it in another tab works, sometimes not. When it works in another tab, the link appears in the first tab also. The third annoying thing is not necessarily related to you. Sometimes, when I try to open a Youtube link in another tab with the middle mouse button, the tab don't open.

I research a LOT. So I have 12,000+ Bookmarks in 100's of subfolders covering 100's of topics. The only conceivable way to organize them is to view the contents of many subfolders SIMULTANEOUSLY and be able to do massive drag & drops between them.

Just like I could do 15 years ago using the old Windows Favorites folder and the 100's of subfolders within it.

(In my opinion it was a really BAD idea to stray from that paradigm. When I moved to Firefox I went from being VERY well-organized to having a complete cluster. In the old days I could IMMEDIATELY access any Favorite via Start Menu or any other Windows way. The unwieldiness of Firefox's Library -- in the context of a hi volume of Bookmarks -- has made such organization impossible, and rendered my Bookmarks practically useless.)

If I had access to the old way, I could probably organize 12,000 Bookmarks in a day. The present Firefox Library is gonna take me about 2 weeks -- seriously. Because I can only view the contents of 1 folder at a time and also because a ton of scrolling is necessary to drag & drop. And lastly because I don't have the contextual "forest" visible to me for decision-making since I can only see 1 "tree" at a time. Basically its NOT DO-ABLE. Surely I can't be the only person with this issue.

My searches for a solution have only turned up the apparently defunct PlainOldFavorites extension.

This has been painful for well over a decade, but its reached a crisis point. Thank you.

On Firefox, I have a folder of bookmarks named "Test" on my Bookmarks Toolbar. The folder holds 10 bookmarks at this time (number will be variable).

How can I use VBA to access and open the bookmarks in the Test folder?

I am able to open Firefox with the VBA code, but I cannot find how to get to the Test folder in the bookmarks.

Can you suggest possible code to get me to these bookmarks?

Help! After the last beta update (109.0b3, build #2015922923) more than half of my bookmarks disappeared! They are also gone from the regular Firefox, after update 108.1.1, build #2015922907! Any way to recall?

I think this started after my most recent upgrade - I'm currently on 108.0.1, but I suspect it was an upgrade from 107, not just from 108.0 (I use PortableApps and only upgrade through PA, and it takes time for PA to prep new versions of app, so sometimes short-lived versions are skipped, and the 108.0.1 changelog only mentions one tiny bug fix). When trying to access a bookmark or folder on my bookmarks toolbar, nothing happens (color change or tooltip on hover, nor clicking) unless the mouse is at the very bottom edge of the button area, well below where the icon and text are. Is this happening to anyone else? I use the bookmarks toolbar heavily, so this is very annoying.

I installed firefox as a flatpak on ubuntu 22.10(kinetic kudu) and everything works fine except for one thing,that being the fact that i cant seem to drag bookmarks from one folder to another, as as soon as the bookmark is dragged from the folder towards another dropdown menu the entire bookmark dropdown closses. as soon as that happens i also cant seem to type inside of firefox restarting firefox fixes the latter issue but not the former.

Hello! I have a problem when deleting a Bookmark. It is from https://savefrom.net/ and I tried deleting it but after reopening my firefox it reappeared on my Bookmarks again. How can I get rid of it?

Recently I opened a video posted on one of my Facebook pages. A dialogue box came up saying that my computer had been infected by a trogan and to contact Microsoft to rectify the problem,. I immediately shut down my computer and waited for about 10 minutes On rebooting I scanned my computer with my installed apps Superspyware and Total Internet Security but neither of them advised me that a there was a trogan infection. However since that time my bookmarks have been taken over by FB paged who I subscribe to and don't allow me to access the original bookmarked URL Please give me guidance how I can rectify this situation

Hi all. I signed in to Firefox on a new computer but can't find my Firefox bookmarks or open tabs that I had on my previous (now dead) computer. Is there a way to recover them? Thank you!

Inside of the bookmarks menu, there is a folder named "Other bookmarks." I'm unable to delete this folder. If I right click on it either in that menu or in the manage bookmarks menu, the delete option is greyed out. See the attached image for more info.

How do I delete this?
