I find that three or four times a month, the links to all my bookmarks disappear. The bookmark folders and bookmark names are still shown but there are no URLs. If I restore to a few days previously they are work again. Why?

RE: After a Mac re-start; despite, having the 'Startup > Open previous windows and tabs' checked in General page; the Restore Tabs option's in both the Top Menu History, and the Top Right Button Menu > History > Mange History were all greyed out. Even the keyboard shortcut to restore all Tabs > Command-Shift-T > Failed.

This has never happened before with Re-starts.

Am I able to restore all these tabs by accessing my Firefox Profile, and what are the exact steps?

Firefox 148.0 (64 bit) desktop.

with this new version i lost everything i need to get back to an older version and get all my extentions my bookmarks back all my s desktop items that i had linked to firefox are gone i can no longer get face book or anything back to firefox book marks every thing i had with firefox

I'm definitely giving up although I'm convinced about Mozilla values... The The bookmarks and history system will not be functional" error message is really driving me nuts! I followed first your "Fix..." instructions; it worked for a few days, and then back again without any bookmark. After that, all of a sudden, miracle! I got back all my bookmarks without any action! Today, once again, I've been waiting for weeks for my bookmarks to be available on Firefox... I imported them to Edge and I'm now using Edge.

I hard shut down my laptop and when I re-opened it, Firefox seemed to have reset itself completely. My profiles were gone, my bookmarks are still present but their icons are missing, my background is missing, my extensions un-pinned, and -- naturally -- all of my tabs were closed. My original profile is completely gone, which kind of sucks, because it was pretty personalized. I think even my preference settings reversed themselves, because it tried to show me the AI chatbot on the sidebar, which I had turned off. I figured at first that it was a matter of spotty connection, because I was using my phone's hotspot at the time, but I'm now back with a solid wi-fi connection, and everything is still acting strangely. Help? How do I get my original profile back in its proper form, if possible? Or, at least, the icons to show back up on my bookmarks? I have turned everything off and back on again, as it were.

I tried everything I could find and still no luck. Read firefox stores 15 prior session setting to restore from and they are nowhere to be found. I'm at a lose on how to move forward. First firefox did it and was able to recover a couple of weeks ago, now windows update did it!

Installed to new system because old system was updated to Win11 and it failed. Old system is only partially operable. Trying to copy (export and import html files) of the bookmarks to the new system, but even though the import seems to have worked, I cannot get the program to show the bookmarks correctly (or at all). They appear in the Manage Bookmarks window but will not appear on the desktop view. What am I doing wrong? When I import them, I select the All Bookmarks item to copy to but it copies everything to the Bookmarks Menu folder.

I've always had my "Open previous windows and tabs" setting on and its never failed for me but today I opened Firefox and it none of my previous windows opened, it just opened to a blank window and I've tried to recover my previous sessions but my "Recently closed windows" tab in history won't open. Not really sure what to do here as I would like to have my previous windows since I didn't bookmark them which I probably should've done

Out of the blue all my bookmarks and passwords disappeared, When I follow your instructions there are no backups in your files. Toolbar is missing and right clicking shows a check mark but no toolbar, I have already switched to Chrome and guess what they have all my bookmarks but no passwords. Passwords are no problem I saved them more so than you backed up your files. I guess it was an update, I don't know. I am 85 years old and have used Firefox a number of those years, probably longer than whoever reads this has has been with us.I guess you know which path I'll be taking from now on. Just thought I would let you know. PS and there will not be anymore automatic updating I'll do it myself I trust me. Stick a fork in me I'm done !

ello. My favorites have disappeared from my Windows 11 PC. It has happened once before and then I was able to get them back by deleting the sqlite file, now it doesn't work and I need your help with ending firefox processes etc.

My bookmarks have been deleted after firefox automatical update on 15/3/2026. Does anybody know how to recover them? I have tried to import and back up but I couldn't see a solution . thanks

I turned on Firefox this morning and its all changed I have no bookmarks no menu and no search bar I hate this new system Why cant i go back to the previous version ???
