I use firefox to display markdown. Vim with a plugin from github (iamcco/markdown-preview.nvim) to renders the markdown. I have focus under mouse and I keep the mouse in vim all the time. But still I need to click the button every time a new tab with markdown is created in Firefox. Firefox steels the focus and my typing is transported to Firefox instead of to the editor.

So, How can I disable Firefox form steeling focus from vim when a new tab is created?

I'm on linux: manjaro-kde. Firefox 110.0 (64-bit) Mozilla Firefox for Manjaro Linux Manjaro -1.0

BTW. thanks for a great browser, that is highly customizable and that you still let me use ublock origin :)

These websites won't play audio or video in Firefox 110.0.1, they work in Chrome 110.0.5481.177

https://www.vrt.be/vrtnu/livestream/audio/stubru/ When I click the Play button I get an error "Oops, something went wrong, error code 200" which seems to be a general error code. In Chrome the music starts playing instantly.

https://f1tv.formula1.com/ I have a subscription but video won't play. I can press the Play button, sometimes I see a preloader but the screen stays black, no audio or video. In Chrome the content just starts playing, be it live or recorded content.

Steps I took to get audio/video working inb Firefox, but to no avail:

run above websites in private tabs download Firefox again and run it from its folder in Downloads start Firefox in Troubelshoot mode start Firefox in Troubleshoot mode and Refresh Firefox disabled / enabled Plugin Widevine Content Decryption Module provided by Google Inc disabled / enabled Play DRM-controlled content in Settings disabled / enabled Enhanced Tracking protection disablde / enabled allow media autoplay

In other discussions it was opted to remove the PulseAudio config by running the below command and rebooting rm ~/.config/pulse/*

Any help to get this working again would be greatly appreciated!

I often use two firefox windows each with several tabs opened

Problem is when I quit in this state sometimes only one of those multiple windows gets opened on the next launch

To quit I do a `ctrl + q` or right click `Quit` from launcher bar

Is there a setting to tell firefox to always relaunch with the same set of windows ?

I use sync and this happens when using the same computer for the exit then relaunch of firefox

Firefox worked perfectly, but since a few days I can't download anything. I'm using Mozilla Firefox snap for Ubuntu 22.04, version 110.0.1 (64 bits) canonical-002 - 1.0 With Chrome everything works perfectly so I assume it's a problem from Firefox.

When I open a PDF, a MP3 or any file, the "save" option doesn't display anything. Usually it opened a dialog where I could choose the folder where I wanted to download the file, but now I have nothing.

I have only 4 extensions: - adblocker ultimate - duckduckgo privacy essentials - vuejs dev tools - zotero connector

I always had them and I never encountered any problem.

Hi, I'm running Firefox 110.0.1 on a linux machine and since installing cookie autodelete I have noticed that the web site yts.mx keeps reseting its cookie, a PHPSession cookie, even though I only visited the site once and that was a week ago. Also a few minutes after starting firefox yts.mx shows up on the about:network#http page of firefox and I'm guessing this is when the cookie gets set.

I can't find any information about about:network#http but there seem to be a lot of web sites listed that I don't visit. What does this page display?

I have tried removing all entries referencing yts.mx in my history. I have searched all non binary files in my profile directory for any reference to yts.mx. The only one thats comes up is in a file called AlternativeServices.txt and I have deleted the reference in that file numerous times and it keeps coming back.

I have also tried deleting the startup cache.

Any ideas apart from resetting firefox to stop this site from setting cookies when I haven't visited it?

Thanks.

So I installed Firefox a while ago and tried it out, was pretty nice but didn't have a couple features at the time so I uninstalled it. Recently I was thinking of going back to Firefox for a bit since some extensions I wanted was working on Firefox again so I reinstalled it. After opening Firefox the whole UI is a mess with words having too much spacing between each other everywhere including Google searches, Firefox settings etc. Mozilla's webpage itself and YouTube didn't seem to be broken but that's about the only one sI've seen that is not broken. Haven't really used the browser because of this issue so not sure what other sites don't have the issue. Not sure how to better describe this so I'm attaching a few images, thanks to anyone who's willing to help me with this.

For a few things I've tried, it was trying to start in safe mode, removing the ~/.mozilla folder and reinstalling firefox. Other than that not sure what to try so any help would be appreciated.

OS: Arch Linux Firefox version: 110.0.1

It's a laptop so it has Intel Integrated graphics along with a GTX 1660Ti Mobile as the dedicated GPU. Not sure what other details to provide so let me know what to give and I'll be happy to do so :)

hey,

so long story short, I've been using a 2 months old firefox 32bit and everything was absolute great.

Until few days ago when the browser started to lag just from time to time.

Today I decided that it's time to let it get the update.

What happened now is there is no launch file for firefox, lol

I can't start the browser.

I went to last-update.log and:

I have read multiple posts & articles about cannot reach ups.com website. Nothing others did works for me. I have re-installed Firefox, cleared caches, started in safe-mode, on & on ... etc. etc. etc.

For the last week, FIREFOX has been slowly deteriorating & cannot reach various business websites:

ups.com Hmm. We’re having trouble finding that site.

foodlion.com 504 Gateway Time-out Microsoft-Azure-Application-Gateway/v2

I have run software to find malware & viruses, with no solution.

I have NO TROUBLE using CHROME to access the same websites.

Who has the magic answer?

I want to stop Firefox from silently updating in the background during browsing sessions. When it finishes updating like this, currently open tabs stop working and I can no longer open new tabs. The only fix is to restart Firefox. This is a problem if I am, for instance, going through a set of web forms as the information I enter will then be deleted and I have to start again.

When I have used Firefox on Windows, the requirement to restart Firefox to install updates has always been indicated by some change to the settings button on the top right of the window. With Ubuntu, the update is downloaded and installed without any action from my part, and given that it is quite disruptive this is unacceptable.

I have tried a number of ways of changing this, none of which work. Under the general settings tab, there are no options for changing the way updates are handled. Settings under about:config appear to do nothing. I have app.update.auto set to false, and app.update.notifyDuringDownload is set to true. I have attempted to circumvent these by setting a policy using the policies.json:

{

 "policies": {
   "DisableAppUpdate": true,
   "AppAutoUpdate": false,
   "BackgroundAppUpdate": false
 }

}

None of these have made the slightest change to how Firefox handles updates.

I am running Firefox 110.0.1 (64 bit) on Ubuntu 20.04.5 LTS, but I should point out that this has been a problem for the last several years of Firefox versions on the same OS.

I really often need to copy/paste from a terminal opened in my browser. Because the shortcut for copying in a terminal is always Ctrl+Shift+C, it's a mess to have instead Firefox opening Inspector from devtools.

How can I disable this shortcut ?

I've tried to update some about:config settings but it doesn't seem to be helpful and old working correctives add-ons are not supported anymore.

Hi.

Reinstall Firefox, and all the guides, is tested - no luck.

I really love Firefox, and have used it, for many years, but this slow experience - that will scare me away.

The scrolling of tabs from left to right using the mouse wheel is way faster than I want. One scroll of the mouse wheel moves the tabs like 80% of the way across the tab-bar. This is problematic when the browser window is sharing half the screen and a scroll moves all visible tabs away. This means I have to then click the buttons to move the tabs one-at-a-time and if I click too fast it scrolls an entire pages worth which is also unwanted.

TLDR: I want a setting like `mousewheel.default.delta_multiplier_y` that only works in the tab-bar.
