When printing directly from within Firefox, my printer Epson WF-7610 prints in color even if the setting is B/W. I am running Win11 on my PC and Firefox 111.0.1.64bit. When I download the pdf and i then print on the same printer from within adobe it prints B/W. I have seen other people have similar problems with other printers etc but I cannot find what is the fix. Can you help?

Firefox 112 update will not download completely. It just keeps saying it is downloading but it does not complete. I can't access some websites now since I have been trying to download the update. Please help. Thanks.

Hi - I want Google.com to be my homepage when I open Firefox. I know how to set it up - go to preferences and home and insert Google.com as my preference. I do this. But then in a day or two or three, Google.com disappears as my home page and it reverts back to the Firefox default, which I do not want. How can I make Google.com my home page without losing it (inexplicably) every day or so? Thanks.

I need to use Vision online to access my repeat prescriptions window and I have until recently had no problem with this. Obviously I need to be able to order repeat prescriptions but when I try to open the prescriptions window I am told I cannot do this for security reasons. I am having problems viewing some web sites using Firefox 111.0.1 (64-bit) on MacOS Ventura 13.3.1.

It isn't one specific web site, but a number of sites on which I see persistently see the same problem - jumbled, meaningless characters in place of the text. I have attached images of what I am seeing at the Quietus and the CRAN network. The CRAN problem exists across mirrors.

I have tried clearing the cache and cookies.

Any suggestions welcome.

I have read the instructions, but I don't know what is an applicator app, or how to scan the bar code, or how to get a verification code. I'm a senior citizen and nothing makes sense. Never had any trouble setting up 2 step verification on other accounts. help!

When a new page or tab opens there a large blank spaces after the header word " advertising". Why is this happening? Too much wasted screen space.

I can't make sense of this code. How to I eliminate the wasted space?

Hey folks! For whatever reason, the new feature that's supposed to allow for drawing or adding text to PDFs straight from Firefox isn't working for me - the buttons just appear greyed out. I've made a few dummy PDFs to test, but those don't appear to work either. Firefox is updated to Version 111.0.1 (which it says is the most recent, as of early April 2023). I've included a screenshot showing what I see on my end. Let me know if you need more details!

I believe one of the addons caused the problem. When I visit aliexpress it changes the url into "best.aliexpress.com" and changes the search results where some of the sellers are highlighted and framed with flashy banners. It sometimes causes crashing other shopping websites as well. I tried deleting my profile, uninstalling firefox, deleting site data, cookies, cache, scanning with 3 different antimalware programs, deleting mozilla folder on %appdata%

it also closes my aliexpress tabs when I open multiple tabs of a product from different sellers, it redirects them all to the best.aliexpress.com homepage the moment I look away.

I tried firefox mobile browser that I logged in with my account and is on synch with the desktop browser. When I visit aliexpress it can't redirect to best.aliexpress.com and asks "Would you like to leave firefox to view this content" and I tap on cancel and no further problems occur. When I'm looking at an aliexpress page, it always asks "Would you like to leave firefox to view this content" without me tapping on anything, or when I'm trying to check out a product. When I tap on Cancel, it still opens the page I want to see without redirecting me to anywhere.

When I create a new profile with Run>Firefox -p, it stops redirecting me to the best.aliexpress.com problem but altered search results are still there with certain sellers being highlighted and advertised. I don't see them on mobile.

I really like firefox and don't want switch to other browsers, even if it doesn't fully work for some websites with the dark mode addon, and some website developers are only considering chrome when designing a website. I still don't want to use any other browser. So please help me with this problem. Again, it only causes firefox desktop version to misbehave, not many problems with mobile version other than occasional asking "Would you like to leave firefox to view this content"

Last two, three years, I keep getting regular crashes. System Info (reduced), with a bloody ridiculous name due to the hosting site limitation and renaming moronicy, my apologies: https://tan-veronika-35.tiiny.site/

I have right now 27 pinned tabs and 16 Unpinned tabs open in Regular Window, and HAD 74 tabs in a Private Window, which I lost (AGAIN) due to crash. I use Private Window to prevent unnecessary data to be stored on my system 9such as text, pictures, whatever), since having severe Asperger's, i am somewhat OCD about keeping my system clean and mean. Useless data is that, and I hate useless.

I did not get any information, as usual, about what caused the crash, I just got a pop-up saying basically: "Well hotdang, you poor sod. Seems your Firefox figured to pull a prank on you. Well, sorry mate, going to close the whole darn thing, you will loose all you had open, but cheer up, Firefox will still work when you pummel that Icon again. Cio, hombre!" which does not quite tell me anything but: "Bad luck, Ol' Chum."

As this happens fairly regularly, this is becoming a true annoyance, the crashes. The sites lost, then, a far bigger issue.

Now, I have a doable system (which you can see in the .PDF), but what baffles me, is the fact that now, with mere 43 tabs (this one not included) active, excluding this one (see picture), just devouring immense much memory. With the lost in the crash Private Window it ran towards a staggering 21 GB used by Firefox. Funny, not too long ago, in Internet explorer (OBVIOUSLY it could not handle this amount of tabs, but 30 was possible), only about 600MB got used. Running nigh 4 times the tabs now in Firefox, should result in IE (if it could handle 118 tabs) into about 2400MB used, not a baffling 21GB! What makes it that tabs or sites use this insane much resources? I do not quite get this. Pictures became a tad larger, sure, but not to fill 21GB on resources? Why doesn't Firefox use the Virtual Memory/Swapfile more? Could help immensely.

Also, what makes my Firefox crash so often? If I had data on this, I could maybe fix the issue, but as Firefox just stops without further information, I am at a loss.

Earlier (not the first time I post about this issue) I requested an optional way to have a Private Window "screenshot" that would be restored on restart after crash, but which would be deleted (ERASED, to be correct, Erase does not leave traces) by normal shut-down. This way, privacy would still be active for the needy, while the "Bad Luck, Ol Chum-ers" like me with this crash, have something to regain the crash-closed tabs. Win-win situation, I think. So ... why has this "Crash Tab-Loss Prevention" not yet been installed in Firefox?

Same for File Resume, requested, but never gotten. Though both would be surely quite a welcome addition.

To end my post: How do I prevent crashes, why does Firefox use so darn much resources, and why is "Crash Tab-Loss Prevention" nor "File Resume" been installed in Firefox, despite there been several updates since requested, please?

I'm trying to open all the bookmarks in a specific folder in a new window but the only option available is to open in tabs in the same window. Is there a way to add "open all in new window"

Hi all, My C drive filled itself with 50GB of Crusader Kings 3 crash logs.

While the drive was (unknowingly) full, I opened firefox. Firefox was...wonky...and instantly I could tell something was wrong, as my speeddial homepage was missing all the sites. My best guess is that, in the worst timing ever, firefox sync chose this time to sync. I immediately cleared space on the drive, and restarted firefox. No extension data recovered. I restarted the PC. No extension data recovered.

I began following Firefox troubleshooting steps, such as checking about:profile. Other profiles are present, but each lacks any extensions or extension data. I widened my search with Everything, to search everywhere for any waylaid installs or profiles that may hold backups. Specifically, prefs.js, extensions.json, firefox.exe (incase I was somehow running a non-default install location) or any sign of other installations. I did find some hits, but none had extensions installed.

Perhaps useful, my FF profile weave folder is populated with many CORRUPT files, and the 'failed' folder lists addons, bookmarks, clients, extension-storage and prefs from it's most recent sync. Perhaps this is the result of trying to write to a full disk?

This is mostly an exercise of curiosity now, as the developer of Group Speed Dial (Juraj Mäsiar) helped me recover from their own backup system seperate from the Mozilla Preferences. I have an easy way to see if any backup file has the correct data, as I have many settings that are instantly visible.

(Moz Helpers, the remainder of this post is irrelevant, and purely to help future travellers) If a weary traveller comes across this post in the future, I gift you my knowledge from the year 2023 of Group Speed Dial. At this time, the way you access the backups on your system is to navigate to the Group Speed Dial homepage. If you are on the default homepage, you should find the option to set it as New Tab or Homepage in Firefox settings. Next, as you face the oblivion of an empty dialler page, click the Burger Menu (top-right for me) for the extension. NOT the firefox burger menu, the one as if you were clicking a menu in a website. For me, the Fourth option is History/Backups. This is a new-ish feature from the developer, so don't be surprised if it move around...be they seem very proud of it, so I imagine it lurks somewhere!

If you just want to recover your extension list, at this time you can find a complete list of everything by examining extensions.js, extension-settings.js and extension-preferences.js. There is a tool online for helping parse into a human readable table, but I would not rely on it, and instead look into a generic JSON formatter to make the data human readable. I had a second Firefox window open, so that's all I'm getting now, with none of my tabs.

Lots of 'to-do's' on those tabs, and time spent searching. So if there's a way to recover, would much appreciate.

Whenever I open a new window, it'll open a window that I had previously closed (and not a fresh window). I'll close a window with tons of tabs because I'm finished with them, but whenever I then open a new window, all the old tabs re-populate. How do I change this setting?

I came across a problem today in the Firefox browser when I clicked a link in a forum to read a help article. A consent form popped up but overlaid the article. I could not scroll to the bottom to accept my choices or dismiss the form as there wasn't an X or Accept in sight. The article scrolled in the background but the Consent form did not move. After playing around for a while I decided to enter Full Screen from the View menu/F11. That worked and I was able to scroll to the bottom and dismiss the consent form. I then checked the box beside the minimise symbol on the top right of the screen and for the first time since using Windows 11 on my new PC I noticed there was 4 choices of screen layouts.

Is this a Firefox or Windows innovation and where is Maximise?

Does that mean I have to use F11/Full Screen to actually be in a full sized screen when scrolling.
