I'm using a PC with windows 11 and my Firefox is up-to-date 124.0.1 (64 bits).

1- It's been several years since a "full screen <=> rest of page" transition was implemented on youtube (using the scroll wheel for example). Is there a way to completely hide YouTube's vertical scrollbar in full screen mode?

I've checked with Opera and Edge browsers and their behaviors are normal in my mind, as the bar is simply hidden in full-screen mode, no matter where I move the cursor. https://ibb.co/nkJzb8S

On Firefox, it is hidden but only if you don't move the mouse or hold the cursor over the scroll bar. https://ibb.co/VW3JTzp Is this an expected behavior in Firefox?

Otherwise, I've tried a couple of "hide scrollbar" style add-ons, but nothing worked, at least for this particular vertical bar, in full screen mode. I also tried the Troubleshoot mode, and to delete the internet cache with no more success. 2- Another question please, why are add-ons disabled on mozilla.org pages, and is there a way to enable some of them on there ?

Hi there - Every website seems to come up in English, ie Firefox seems to be translating other languages automatically. (My version is Firefox for Mac 123.01 64-bit.) I am wondering how I can prevent automatic translation of websites. I have had a look in preferences etc, but I do not see anything there to prevent automatic translation. When I upgraded my Firefox, in Mac iOS, the pocket add-on is not on the new tab page. I’ve tried about. Dot config and have not found a way to restore pocket on the new tab page.

You can't change Firefox keybinds from within settings. Please can someone direct me to a resource that details each step in achieving this, without need to install an extension. Currently "Ctrl + Win + Left Arrow/Right Arrow" moves between tabs for me, however I use vertical tabs, so would like to use "Ctrl + Win + Up Arrow/Down Arrow" instead.

I want to use a key to open Speed dials in the same tab and same key with 'Shift' to open that speed dial in a new tab.

My favourite were Ctrl+1, 2, 3, 4 ... and so on. And when I used Ctrl+Shift+1, 2, 3 etc, then they opened in a new tab. But now the Ctrl+1, 2, etc are focusing already open tabs. How to revert to old behavior of these shortcut keys?

I've read several articles on using extensions like 'Shortkeys (Custom Keyboard Shortcuts)', but those don't let me use C+1, 2, etc. Also another method of using to js files (auto.js something) doesn't seem to do this job, as I think that would only disable some KeySrtcs altogether.

Updated to Firefox 124.0.1 on March 28 (from 123.0.1, which was installed on March 12). This update also installed the Keeper password manager addon.

This is a work PC so it's locked down by IT admin, including extensions on FF. I have no access to about:addons ("Blocked Page - Your organisation has blocked access to this page or web site") and it's impossible to install Xpis.

However, extracting info from extension.json shows that Keeper® Password Manager & Digital Vault Version: 16.8.1 was installed at the time the update to FF 124.0.1 happened. See images.

How can this happen? What can be done to remove Keeper, given that I don't have access to about:addons?

Possibly relevant: I do have some extensions that I had installed before Firefox extension access and install was locked down by Admin (lock down of FF was done remotely through some kind of policy), including LastPass.

I am a linguist working for the national language commission of the Marshall Islands.

This country's national and official language, Marshallese, is not in the list of Firefox's languages to add the Settings menu. I have Googled extensively and searched within the Mozilla site about how to add a new language to this list, but without success. All the results are about changing/selecting a language that is on the list, but I want to add to the list with a language that is not on the list right now.

Could you please refer some office / person at Mozilla to approach in order to go about creating a language pack / dictionary? Or is there some web resource I have missed?

I can do some coding, and I believe I am capable of writing any software needed for these programs. And if I can't do it, I can hire consultants/contractors.

If government / official permission is needed, I can get this too.

I would really like to know what to do in order to get the Marshallese language added to the list of available languages in Firefox.

Why can't you pin the extension 'Tiny URL' to the toolbar any more?

This extension is really useful! I don't want to have to excavate Firefox to use it.

Tiny URL is more useful than the rather silly 'Pocket' which just seems to be a page full of adverts

Whenever I watch any media that has closed captions/subtitles, if the word "god" or "jesus" comes up it automatically mutes audio for a brief duration. It's not something I want to have on. it also censored the word by replacing the text with asterisks.

I’m currently using Windows 10 Firefox v.124.0.1 and am set to auto update. For some time now I’ve been trying to make use of the option to set homepage as a shortcut folder as described: Settings/Home/Homepage and new windows where one of the options is: ‘Choose a Bookmark to be your Home Page. If you choose a folder, the Bookmarks in that folder will be opened in Tabs.’ You then need to delete the existing homepage and select the desired shortcut folder. This works but after it appears to be a static rather than dynamic selection as regardless of any changes made to the indicated folder, the homepage does not change. Am I doing something wrong or expecting too much. Thanks John

I use Firefox version 103, the old version that is perfectly compatible with an extension I always use. I love this old version, and I don't want to update it to the new version. But the update reminder pops up many times everyday. it's so annoying. I used "about config" to turn it off (see photo 2); it works a bit, but the popup still there once daily after the configuration. I want to turn it off permanently. Is there any way to do it? I am trying to download the original version of an image, not the re-compressed webp version (Yes, I know some websites only have a webp format image, but I am specifically talking about sites where I can flat out see .jpg or .png in the URL but it's forcing a recompressed webp version on me instead, reddit itself is one of those sites that does this, I cam flat out see the url ending in .jpg or .png, and then a lot of other gibberish after which if I make any changes to breaks the image, and if I leave as-is forces a webp version. Wikia sites are another that do this.). A lot of what I Google on how to do this is not relevant anymore, telling me to modify a setting that no longer exists, add a variable to the URL that no longer works, or install a plugin that does not seem to work anymore and might be a security risk.

The one thing that seems to work is going to the image.http.accept setting and putting in "*/*". Problem is, I have no idea what exactly this is doing, and it looks like to me that I am somehow telling it just allow everything, which worries me if it can be a security risk or something. Can someone help me understand what exactly I am doing when I modify this setting like this and if it's a security risk to do so?

Hi. I can't access my add-ons that I installed. When I click on the extensions icon it doesn't open that little menu like it does for other people, but it takes me to 'about:addons' in a new tab. I also want to pin my addons to my toolbar which is also not working. Please help me out

Suppose I was in YouTube (https://youtube.com) domain name, then from that URL, I went to https://youtube.com/history (that is, all in the same domain name YouTube, but different URL) by clicking the history button. The same I did when I clicked https://chat.openai.com/c/d93ac426-c5d1-451b-abc4-fc82739f..... from https://chat.openai.com/c/d93df...... (went from one chat to another) or to https://chat.openai.com/ (went from current to new chat) by clicking the list of chats at leftmost vertical panel. When I saw the top left corner of Firefox browser, the "round circle arrow" reload button was not change to "X" or any other symbol specified that the page was going to different link (different URL). Previously I have had went to this https://github.com/microsoft/playwright/issues/15781 page, and mostly not specified the problems at all. I went to ChatGPT and it said that "I must change the 'false' to 'true' of browser.tabs.remote.separateContentProcess object/variable in about:config. When I searched for that, it seems I found browser.tabs.remote.separatePrivilegedContentProcess" and I have had toggle this to ensure if YouTube, ChatGPT, or other domain will refresh/reload the page when it went to different URL in the same domain, but nothing happens.

The problem is, this is not happen in Chrome Browser. Because of Firefox is my default browser, multi-functional, configurable, I want to make this behavior can also happens in Firefox rather than Chrome. Is there any solution of this?
