ive scanned my system with two different antiviruses and nothing comes up, and nothing was being downloaded before ive tried to install firefox.

ive tried to install it twice, once with my setting migrated and once all clean and they both tried to download this, is this a false positive or is the install hacked?

ive downloaded the installer from here.

HI! I've been trying to install Firefox on my new Acer Chromebook by following this article: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/run-firefox-chromeos. However, whenever i get to the last step, it says "no remote refs found similar to firefox". I have no idea what i'm doing at this point, any help?

I tried to change the download folder for Firefox inside "settings", and Firefox showed that the change did take, even after opening and closing the program again, but trying to download a file leaves me in the old folder again, as if Firefox didn't take what it showed it took. Also, Firefox keeps crashing when I try to download to the downloads folder. Not sure why. Clearing a few items lets me download again, but then, it will crash if I dare keep going. Is there a limit to how much can be in the downloads folder aside from the C drive itself? My C drive is showing 84GB free, in the blue, not red, so what gives?

Hello guys, so my Computer crashed and was stuck in a bootloop and I needed to hard reset it. Now my Firefox passwords,bookmarks etc are gone. How can I recover them, they are very important?

After a recent migration of everything from an old PC to a new one, the Firefox logo does not appear in any of the HTML file icons on my new computer. They are all blank.

It apparently a problem unique to Firefox, and only involves the display of the Firefox logo. Although the icon is blank, when it is clicked, the document is opened by Firefox.

If I right-click on a blank HTML document icon and select "Properties", to the right of "Opens with:" is the Firefox logo. If I then click "OK", the Firefox logo remains in the "Properties" window, but the icon remains blank.

If I click on "Change", select "Microsoft Edge" and click "OK", the "Microsoft Edge" logo appears to the right of "Opens with:", and the HTML document icon also displays the Microsoft Edge logo.

There is a similar result when I select "Google Chrome", "Internet Explorer", or even "Notepad". The corresponding logo appears in the HTML document icons.

I have attached screenshots of old PC and new PC.

Any and all suggestions are welcomed.

I'm using firefox on three different pc and i have this issue only on this one. On booting i see in the task manager about 6 background process one of them uses 80% of my cpu (an INTEL 13GEN I7 bought a few months ago...) and never ends. When these tasks are running, firefox settings tell me something like (i have it in italian) "firefox update is running on another instance". when i stop them, this message goes away too and everything seems to work fine. It shows that i am fully upgrated!

i have fully uninstalled and reinstalled firefox 4 times, nothing changes. i noticed that on older pc i had the folder "mozilla" on the programdata in the main disk while here i don't. i tried, with no result, to uninstall, copy that here and reinstall.

Pls help me, i love firefox, much better than chrome

I downloaded firefox yesterday on my windows 11 and I assumed that is my now my firefox browser as default, how can I tell if I have the firefox browser on my laptop?

swapped PC today, meaning full format and everything new, tried logging in to Firefox but I'd forgotten my password so I reset it, does that mean everything saved on my account got reset?

Could I somehow verify my identity as the same user and get everything I had going on my Firefox account on a different PC back?

I had Firefox installed as my default browser. Then it crashed and I couldn't 'repair' it. So I uninstalled then tried to re-install but each time that fails because I get a message that VCRUNTIME140_1.dll is not present

The last time I updated Firefox it forgot my open tabs and browsing history. I never want to update Firefox again so how do I disable this annoying popup about a new version? If I cannot eliminate this I will change to another browser.

We have a proxy server and requested already to whitelist the https://aus5.mozilla.org & http://download.mozilla.org/ but still, we can't manage to update to the latest version. Do we have the complete lists of servers that we can add to our proxy server, to have it whitelisted?

Why has this started up again? Pdf files are automatically downloading to my computer when all I want to do is look at the file. So many files that now need to be trashed after looking at them. This problem has happened in the past, but was resolved, only now I am finding it happen again. I do not want to have files saved unless I want to save them, not Firefox deciding that any file I open should be saved. I have Windows 11 & Firefox Version 113.0.1. Is there a way to revert to an older version of Firefox?

I have downloaded Firefox 113.0.1 for Windows x64 but the file seems to be corrupt. When I check the installation file with 7Zip Test Archive appeared a Warning Message due to a Checksum error. All others versions of Firefox downloaded can be checked correctly by 7Zip, but this installation file show an error message that I never have received. Is there a problem with the file? Thanks

  I got a driver error message on the computer and it said to restart to fix the driver problem. 
  When I restarted the link to firefox would not work from the start menu or the tashbar.
   I reinstalled firefox and went to migrate the settings, passwords etc and the old firefox does not show up.

   I then searched the hard drive and there is still information for firefox, one about 1.2GB, so it must be in there some where.

   Any ideas where I could look for the settings?

   My computer died about a month ago and I just set this one up so I really do not want to go through the hassle of getting all the passwords and favourite sites set up again.

   Also having problems getting the thunderbird settings and messages to migrate from the bad HDD, but that is another problem for now.

  Any suggestions welcome.

HELP! Every download fails. Everytime. I have disabled antivirus , changed security settings in browser settings. Still no good. I don't want to switch to the Edge browser which is working great at downloads right now.

For work reason, I need to use specifically Firefox version 68.3. Unfortunately, I couldn't use it on my Mac M1 (Ventura 13) as it always crashes and refuses to open.. Please anyone can help me with this? Thank you!
