Ever since Firefox updated to ver 126.0 it no longer autocompletes with past history of visited websites like it used to. As a matter of fact it doesn't do anything in the url bar anymore. Everything is turned on in settings but no luck. I have even tried uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox but nothing is working. I am on Windows 10 if this matters...thanks

I was in the middle of asking this question when I fixed (worked around) the problem so I'm posting more as a informative post as there is a lot of old misdirection out there now.

I am(was) unable to drag any URLs from the URI drop down field in the main interface to my bookmarks toolbar. Nor was any drag and drop functionality working in the "Customise Firefox" screen (right click space on url bar -> Customise Toolbar).

I have now found that resetting my zoom setting in preferences to 100% restores this functionality. The problem arose when I was using 120% zoom, NOT text only.

The Dismissed Suggestions > the "Restore" button (circled on the attachment) is not working (grayed out). It behaves the same in normal and private browsing. What could be the problem? Thank you

Directions are sync & save data. This is wrong. There is NO "sync and save data" in the iOS FF menu. See attached. Therefore cannot scan QR code. Email does not work because FF does not recognize my password which is written down and I am signed on to Mozilla. in iPhone settings FF allows camera. FF is set up to permit sync. The open tabs on PC do not sync to FF on phone. All directions do not work or are totally unclear. Nothing seems to agree with anything. Cannot sync. Cannot scan QR code. Cannot verify password.

Suddenly after 20 years of collecting invaluable basic reference works in one of the 20 bookmarks on my Bookmarks Toolbar called REF on my Firefox browser, today I find it simply marked "Empty". No idea why. No other tabs have been altered as far as I can tell. 28 MAY 2024

I have happily used Firefox for a very very long time and all has been well until the last month or so.

I have a brand new laptop with Windows 11 Pro and Firefox 126.

Each time I open the machine to begin a new day and open Firefox, all my tabs are gone from the previous session; this is not good for my research, studies, and business activities. I have read a lot about this issue online and (1) find that under Settings, History, there is no "restore previous session" option; and (2) I have several times already cleared the "sessionstore" folder and copied the files for later reuse.

Further, "Open previous windows and tabs" is checked off; always has been. I have checked other relevant settings and they all seem fine; but to no avail.

What would you suggest?

After the last upgrade Firefox has a strange ~6 pixel wide dark border. How can I eliminate that border?

Hi all!

A while back I downgraded my Firefox version to some old version to be able to access a FortiGate 310B. However when I upgraded back and started using the latest version my search completion stopped working, but my search completion is turned on. It shows things I've already searched for, but it's not fetching new completions. I lived with this for a while since I couldn't be bothered to fix it, but I recently moved to linux, and copied all my data, I did this by just copying the profile folder and moved into into a new profile I created on linux. It worked, my bookmark, history, passwords etc are saved, but still no completion. I tried creating a new profile and the search completion worked perfectly fine. Do you guys have any tips or things I could try? Or do I just give up and move to a new profile, since this one is presumably corrupt?

I'm encountering a perplexing issue with Mozilla Firefox that I hope someone here can shed some light on. Whenever I set Mozilla Firefox as my default browser, I experience difficulties accessing my website. The site continuously buffers but never fully loads, leaving me unable to view its content.

However, when I switch to a different browser as my default, such as Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge, the website loads without any issues moreover my website is related to Picoworker which runs smoothly on other browsers (Screenshot is also attached). This leads me to believe that the problem might be specific to Mozilla Firefox.

I've tried troubleshooting by clearing the browser cache, disabling extensions, and even reinstalling Firefox, but the problem persists. I've also checked for any errors in the browser console, but nothing seems out of the ordinary.

Could there be any compatibility issues between my website and Mozilla Firefox that are causing this problem? Or is there something else I should investigate to resolve this issue?

Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your assistance!

I'm unable to load this specific website "https://doy2mn9upadnk.cloudfront.net/" just on Firefox browser, i keep getting same error "PR_CONNECT_RESET_ERROR" yet it loads perfectly fine in Chrome. I don't use any vpn/proxy

control + UP (arrow) is documented to "go to top of page". That has broken as of 126.0 And, for some reason I don't remember, I found that using "HOME" in the past was also problematic.

How do I report something as "b roken" to firefox and do you agree it is broken?

Based on https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/glib/-/issues/2833, I gather that this crash happens when you have some malformed xdg-mime data. I'm trying to figure out what data that is and where it's stored so I can fix it.

The crash report doesn't show me the arguments, so I can't tell what mime type it's trying to load. Maybe it's not available due to the way the library is built, or maybe it's not available due to the crash report hiding potentially private data. Or both. Can anyone tell me how to see what mime type it's looking up? Or do you know what mime type it would be looking up when saving a PDF? `xdg-mime query default application/pdf` works fine so it's not just looking for a handler, there must be some sort of weird "MIME type" for "file browser" that it's trying to use.
