Prior to updating to Windows 11 I was able to specify the bookmark folder that I wanted to save the bookmark in when I pressed "Bookmark Current Tab" or "Ctrl-D". Now it automatically saves the bookmark in the "Other Bookmarks" folder instead of allowing me to save it in my desired folder? I then have to find the saved bookmark and manually move it to the desired folder. Is there a fix for this or is this a permanent feature change? Thanks for your help.

Two computers. Both computers name version of Firefox and same version Of Windows 10. On computer 1 drag and drop no longer works. I can click star next url and manually to bookmark toolbar. I also cannot reorder on tool bar by dragging and dropping by selecting.

How do I know I'm doing it correctly? On computer 2 it works exactly as should. Click on padlock and drop or click on entry and toolbar and reorder. Same extensions etc and do not have a bookmark extension though have tab session manager. Same version both computers. Only difference in browser is number of tabs open. x 10 difference in number of tabs open computer 1 versus 2.

If I put firefox in troubleshoot mode with extensions etc off or create a brand new profile and try same problem.

I turned my laptop on and went to Firefox to get my emails and browse but when the application started I realized all my bookmarks had disappeared. After a bit of digging it looks like Firefox has updated and in the process wiped all of my data because I don't have any history or back up points. I really need help as there is so much information I use on my bookmarks.

From 8 years of using Firefox and updates, there is a perpetual, never-ending serious bug, occurs on all computers! If one has a lot of open tabs with a lot of RAM, the tabs are also automatically frozen then it is impossible to add bookmarks to all 4760 tabs. So never ever make a bookmark! It takes forever to work, nothing happens, even no extension can, nothing will help. This is some kind of stuck bug. Chrome, it ALWAYS, ALWAYS WORKS WITHOUT PROBLEM! I can add in 1 second in Chrome, but never, ever in Firefox for 8 years!

I know this is an ongoing issue but it seems like nobody has mentioned it in a while so I figured I would stir it up again. I am fed up with the bookmark double spacing and having to scroll down all of the time.

If nothing else I would think that the Firefox team owes all of its loyal users an explanation as to why they don't seem to want to fix this probem.

I'll try to make this short. Old laptop crashed and burned, rebuilt new laptop, brought over places.sqlite files and all my bookmarks are there however I can't add to them, delete any of them, and on occasion they disappear and I have to restore the places.sqlite files just to get them back. HELP! This browser is driving me nuts!

When a new bookmark is created it goes to the end of the bookmark listing in the left panel. How can I force Firefox to automatically put each newly created bookmark in the correct alphabetic position in the left panel Bookmarks panel? I DO NOT want to alphabetize the entire panel, I just want each newly created bookmark to go where is alphabetically belongs. I do not use folders so have one long list for bookmarks menu. thank Bob

Firefox has stopped saving history and I am unable to save any bookmarks. This seems to have happened recently for no reason I can understand. I haven't made any changes. I use a VPN but was doing so before this happened. I have checked all the settings and also deleted the places.sqlite file. When I click <bookmark current tab> nothing happens and history shows as empty.

Is it possible to combine history/bookmark files? Firefox has truncated my "History" to 15 days and the only option I see to get elder entries is to combine a backupped history file with the current one. An easy-to-use tool for this task would be welcome. I did not change my config options after the update to 121.0.1 (64-Bit) (Windows 10pro) but I think I had the total history (from years) before the update. I already sreened Help files of this Forum concerning lost history data but they all do not give sufficient answers or I do not understand them (as a German user). Thanks. Martin

Problem that's been going on for MONTHS now - when I use the bookmark manager to sort out my bookmarks, it will often 'drop' them a few lines above or below where I wanted to place them. Trying to move the misplaced bookmarks just means chasing them around the page with them NOT going where I want them, and often moving other bookmarks OUT of place. The only workaround I've found is to kill the manager and reopen it - but this often has to be done SEVERAL times to fix the problem, and it can happen again minutes later on another bookmark. Given I had to give up on the drop down bookmark toolbar because it reverts to the top of the list EVERY TIME I try to use it, I have been using the manager to access everything. The fact that it also doesn't work correctly is making me INCREDIBLY frustrated with your product. Do you have a fix, or should I ditch Firefox and find a better browser?

I get errors when importing my bookmarks from one laptop to another. I've tried importing HTML file and restoring from JSON file multiple times with multiple files. The bookmarks are not saved in any folder including the "imported bookmarks" folder. This is frustrating... Could you please help with this simple task?

I had to sign out of the browser and when i signed back in (like i have many times before) all my bookmarks and passwords were gone. not sure how to contact Firefox IT but can someone please help me with this?

While trying to add my existing bookmarks (from previous computer) I get message - SSL_ERROR_INTERNAL_ERROR_ALERT

Please tell me what to do. I cannot find any reference to this message.

I have used Mozilla and Firefox for over 20 years now and thoroughly enjoyed it - but have never had and problems of this nature.

An account was opened in Firefox with this Gmail account: pmkamirul@gmail.com In which the user and password of different accounts were saved. Today 28.01.24 due to Windows problem on my laptop, I set up new windows again and installed Mozilla Firefox and tried to open the Mozilla account but it took about 15 minutes because I did not give the correct password. Later I reset the password and opened the Firefox account with the new password 01714303182 but even when the Firefox account was opened, nothing saved previously came back. Please help me to recover my previously saved data.

I thought I had two different accounts. Home, with my personal email and work, with my work email. My work computer crashed a few months ago, and out IT department was able to recover all my bookmarks, but it wasn't easy, so I was told. I decided to do what I do at home and that was to create an account for work, which I did. I now have an account for home with it's own bookmarks, and email, and a work account with it's own bookmarks and totally different email. I recently got a work phone. In the process of setting it up I synced it up with my work account. when I came home tonight I got online and all my work bookmarks were on my home computer. How did this happen? Now I don't have my home bookmarks. I tried signing out and signing back in with my home account, but no luck. This is very frustrating especially since they are two totally different accounts. SO, how do I get my home bookmarks back on my home computer? Thanks

Something changed very recently, probably that new update. There are passwords and all manner of info I can't find....

I am missing MANY bookmarks I had in Firefox. Where did they go?

Can I somehow restore the previous version if necessary to recover them?

I restarted my PC (reinstalled Windows) and then downloaded Firefox. Previously I had important bookmarks, but I didn't save them anywhere (stupidly). Can I restore these somehow? Does anyone know that? I am grateful for every tip!!!
