Recently, I've decided to install Firefox since another program I'd like to use is dependent on it. After the simple installation the browser opened, but I carelessly closed all the tabs and it suddenly crashed. Since then no matter how many times a restart my PC, reinstall the browser or delete files, it simply closes as soon as it opens. It seems to be indicative of a file preventing it from starting, or it's missing a file, but I thought I'd ask for assistance before giving up.

Greetings. I waited a long time before updating from FF 88 to FF 104, concerned that the header and footer issues I previously experienced (and resolved) with FF's print preview interface would recur after updating to a newer FF version. Unfortunately after updating to FF 104 the very same issues recurred. The only solution was to disable FF's print preview interface once again and use the Mac print window instead for all printing tasks. Doing that solved the issue with headers and footers getting cut off pdfs and printed pages, but it did not solve two new issues that began after updating to FF 104, which have persisted through FF 107.

When printing emails and/or content from webpages, FF has been inserting what I believe is called square box symptom (multiple square boxes in a row with question marks in some of them) instead of the actual text that is on the email or webpage. FF is also printing a long series of dots across the page in certain areas of my emails, which I assume are the very bottom of the letters that are supposed to be there. These issues have never occurred in all my years as a Firefox user until updating to 104.

Does anyone else have these problems when printing emails and/or webpages? This behavior does not occur with every email or webpage that I print or save as a pdf, but it is prevalent enough that I am having to rely on Safari to create pdfs and/or printouts.

I've done everything I can think of to resolve these two new issues but the behaviors persist. I am attaching 2 screenshots of a recent order confirmation email that I saved as a pdf to demonstrate what the issues look like. The title of the email is cut off. All you can see is a bunch of tiny dots. The amount of the refund is nothing but dots. The title of each item in the order is a bunch of dots, as is the price on the far right. There is a row of square box symptom between some of the items in the order, followed by more missing titles and prices represented by dots, and more dots for the amount of the discount and subtotal.

I was going to submit a bug about this but wanted to inquire here first in case there is a solution that I have not tried. Clearing cookies, cache, and running Disk Utility has not resolved this. Any assistance you can give me is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I've been experiencing weird downloads whenever I startup firefox. My antivirus prevents the download, and says that firefox.exe is the application responsible. I will include an image of the antivirus(Kaspersky) report. Deleting and reinstalling firefox seemed to fix the problem, but it returned after sometime; even when I just used youtube on firefox(I've tried this atleast 3 different times now). I am not sure if this is caused by one of my extensions, or if there is something else I've done to cause this. I'd just like to know if there is a way to fix it?

Hi, we have 4 PCs (3 running Win 10 and one Win 7) which updated themselves today and lost everything. Settings, add-ons, bookmarks, shortcuts all gone; looks like a new install. I checked the other threads and the profiles; there is only one profile and no backup. How to get my stuff back?

I’ll make this as brief as possible, so here goes. When I was working I had Firefox on my computer, my iPhone and my iPad and all three were synced together. Now that I no longer work I don’t have access to the computer any longer. Only my iPhone and iPad. Up until a few weeks ago that was fine. Both of them were still synced. Then, for reasons completely unknown, the one on the iPad became problematic. So, without giving it much thought I, installed a brand new one on the iPad. It told me to set up a login for that one which, I did , again without giving it much thought. Then, when I hit sync, nothing. And I believe that’s where the problem lies. I sat down with the iPad on one side and the iPhone on the other and went through every setting I could find. The only difference I could see was with the account names. The one on the iPhone is “overworked” which I believe was originally on all three. But when I set up the new one on the iPad, once again not giving it enough thought, I used my email address which is “gregcocks193@gmail.com.” So my belief is that the difference in the account names is why one can’t find the other. But, what to do? I don’t want to just experiment because if I do it wrong I could potentially lose the ones on the iPhone, which is the only one left that has all my bookmarks and logins, and if I lose them, they are gone forever. So I’m hoping you can tell me what to do. If I need to change one of the account names, which one? How do I do it. Or is there another way to sync them together, without changing either of the names. I really don’t know. But since I only have one shot at getting it right I’m not going to do anything until I hear back from you. I have always used Firefox and nothing else, going all the way back to ver. 17 on the computer, and I don’t want to change. So now that you know my dilemma, I hope you can help. People ask me why I don’t use Google because it’s the #1 browser, and my answer is always the same. Just because their name is plastered everywhere doesn’t make their browser better. In fact, I think their mobile browser is horrible. So please give me some advice on what to do so I can continue using Firefox.

Since the last Firefox update, my logins are no longer saved from one session to the next...and neither are my devices, even when I specifically give the site permission to save the current device. I have to log in to most sites (email, bill pay, etc.) every single time, and in most cases the site insists on sending me a text or an email to verify it's me. This is entirely new behavior since the last update, and I can't figure out how to get around it. Suggestions??

The solution of physically copying the Profiles folder seems to be officially endorsed by Mozilla but when I tried it, FF failed to start up displaying an error message that it could not find my profile and closing. I am trying to set up a new PC for my wife's exclusive use, so the Profiles folder in question was from a shared PC with both of us having our own user accounts. The new PC doesn't have multiple user accounts, so I wondered if this might be something to do with it?

I can provide copies of the two Profiles folders but the original is quite big!

When I print a McDonald's coupon, the date and coupon number does not come out. These are the most important components of the coupon. I can easily print in other browsers. Your security default is a trifle too high.

I am unable to open my outlook mail - however I am able to open other websites - how do I fix this

I know this is most likely a feature, but it's been annoying the hell out of me since I switched from Chrome and I don't know how to disable it. I have looked at multiple (~3) Reddit threads (two of which were archived) which gave me a total of 0 answers, I've looked at other forums, and I've found, get this, nothing. It's so annoying when for whatever reason, my music gets paused and then it's not at the volume I need it to be at, so I turn it up and then almost immediately turn it back down because of the audio fading. All I want is to know how to disable this, PLEASE.

I've attached an image. Installed Mac OS 13.0.01 Ventura on my iMac and now Yahoo Mail displays as shown in the attachment. All symbols, no readable text. I've been using Firefox for many years but I'm so frustrated I launched Safari this PM and Yahoo Mail opened fine. Hate to make the switch, but...

Any thoughts?

I have started in troubleshoot safe mode.. and disabled all extensions.. yet the problem persists the garbled text doesn't go away and today elementor also began crashing.. Hundreds of complaints like this, yet no one has found a solution.. except start in trouble shoot mode.. but then what?? continue working in trouble shoot mode? cannot add any extensions.. If firefox doesn't solve this problem.. I am moving to safari.

Since upgrading to Monterey, Google search pages show almost no text in Firefox. Google searches in Safari and Google Chrome are completely fine. Only Firefox is showing the problem. The blank text includes dropdown menus too - all options inside them are blank. Currently on Firefox v107.0, but the same problem happens with older versions.

If I go into Troubleshoot mode, the Google searches are working fine. I have refreshed Firefox, Cleared the startup cache. But the problem persists. I uninstalled Firefox from the machine, restarted the computer. Did a fresh download and install, haven't signed in so there are no addons/extensions to cause problems.

This is happening on both an Intel Mac and an M1 Mac running Mac OS 12.6 Monterey.

I attach one screenshot showing the same page with and without troubleshoot mode on. The second screenshot shows another page of results including what looks like weirdly encoded characters.

I've followed all the suggestions in the support page but nothing has helped. I'd really appreciate any advice on further troubleshooting. Thanks in advance for any help.

For some reason text on some websites such as wikipedia and timeanddate is completely messed up, it looks like gibberish but is actually just displayed wrong. When you copy the text and paste it into something like Word it shows the text correctly, I've noticed that the text is shifted by one letter forward (e is f, f is g, etc.). I've tried the main, beta and nightly releases as well as reinstalling Firefox. Images attached.

Strange thing is I can access it through other browsers and I can access it on Firefox on my tablet, but not my computer.

Whenever I´m going to attach a file to an email, Firefox always takes me to the desktop. Is there a way to make it look in the downloads folder?, which is my default to download files. Thanks ...
