I am on endeavourOS (linux). Whenever I try to upload images for a profile picture to sites like youtube or X, the image becomes corrupted and doesn't upload correctly. It did this with whatsapp too and I had to use a separate app for it. Other posts said that disabling "privacy.resistFingerprinting" would fix it, but it's already disabled.
Attached below are an example of this bug and the contents of this image when viewed on a text editor.

After a recent update to Firefox 133.0.3 (on Ubuntu GNU/Linux 22.04), Firefox is having difficulty connecting to websites and exhibiting some other odd behavior:
- After initially starting Firefox, it will load websites (e.g., previously open tabs) for up to 30 seconds. After that, it will not load any website in a new tab, showing the loading animation for several seconds before stopping all activity and just displaying an hourglass icon in the tab. These sites can be connected to in other web browsers. - After closing Firefox, its process is still running; I have to manually find its pid and kill it. - If I start Firefox from the terminal, I see these messages when it starts having trouble loading websites:
libva info: VA-API version 1.20.0 libva info: Trying to open /snap/firefox/5437/gnome-platform/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/dri/iHD_drv_video.so libva info: Found init function __vaDriverInit_1_20 libva info: va_openDriver() returns 0

I know it may sound a bit strange, but I would like to know WHY an extension is not allowed in a private window, so I might understand the reason why I'm not able to diagnose an issue I'm having with fucking amazon who has their cart all over the place for a misconfiguration in firefox that either I did or an extension is causing, however I'm unable to figure out which because I can't enable extensions in private windows, where the issue does not happen, so I'm not able to reproduce and isolate the problem. Specifically, this article: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/extensions-private-browsing Plus, I was kinda expecting I could run STG in private too, since it offer such nice and rich grouping and memory management features vanilla FF does not (PS: please take inspiration and bake it inside!!) Thanks in advance.

(in fact I might just switch to macos and try using homebrew).
It seems very harsh that upgrading Firefox has been prevented by linux mint for years now.
Yes Homebrew is perhaps the way forward! Life would be easier with just one O/S as I need Macos anyway for adobe lightroom.
i trying to update the current version for ubuntu , kindly advise how to install new version and procedures , thank you

Hi All,
I need open local exists files
file:///.../index_details.rst or file:///.../index_details.txt in my default system editor.
This has worked pretty well last in version 127. (https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/127.0/linux-x86_64/en-US/)
But after v127 Firefox always opens files directly (see screen). I can't find any settings to change this behavior. Something has been changed.
I keep back the firefox upgrade so long it was posible for me but 127 is now old and i use the last version 133.0-1.
I'm using Linux (Debian).
Thanks

Hello,
I'm trying to update to firefox version 133.0. My O.S. is Ubuntu 20.04. I've untarred the tarball to ~/firefox/firefox-133.0/.
If I startup the new firefox, I receive the following error message: "libxul.so, undefined symbol: gdk_window_show_menu".
I also tried firefox version 120.0, except the result was the same.
How can I fix this?
thanks.

I'd like to take a full-page screenshot of my content within my Canvas/Instructure online class, but it only captures what's visible. I've tried opening the frame in its own tab, but it doesn't help.
When I use my phone to capture the entire page, it can work, but it's so narrow! Plus I have to continuously tap the "Scroll Down" button for the capturing process to capture more and more.
Can anyone please help? Thanks.

What has happened to the "More actions" menu button - the one that normally is in the upper left corner of windows (see the attached image)?
I have just installed a new PC, with Debian 12 and KDE (plasma 5.27.5); the other windows have this menu button, but not Firefox and Thunderbird. Is there a way to get it back, eg by moving the menu bar out of the title bar and back to where it used to be?

Hello
I use Firefox 132.0.1 under Fedora 14 Linux. Whenever I click an urls in another application (e.g. Libreoffice, Keepass...) a new tab is opened in Firefox (according to Firefox's settings), but Firefox itself does not pop up in the foreground, it remains in the background. I highly appreciate the setting 'open links in tabs instead of new windows'. But FF only comes to foreground in case I deactivate 'open links in tabs instead of new windows'. How can I prevent FF to stay in the background in case 'open links in tabs instead of new windows' is enabled?
Thank you in advance

I have a Linux PC where, when I right-click, I see shortcut letters in the context menu (the one that appears when you right-click). So, if I want to inspect an element, I right-click on it and press Q, and the inspector opens right away. This saves me time from navigating through the menu. However, on my other MacOS PC with Firefox, it doesn't do the same. I've searched for solutions but haven't found any.

Firefox does not seem to be properly configured for Wayland on KDE Plasma 6.x systems. The generic "Wayland" logo appears in task switcher instead of the Firefox logo. Firefox is the only program I have with this issue. Setting desktop name (org.mozilla.firefox) as a property in the Window and Application Manager settings does not resolve the issue.
