I am running Ubuntu 22.04 Jammy on my desktop. Problem does not appear in Windows 10.

I can click the search box and the list of search engines shows. I can change the default search engine in settings. Mouse over highlights the selections.

Clicking on one of the choices does nothing.

I think there have been 2 updates since the problem first appeared.

PS: There also appears to be an issue with js. Some functions on websites do not work although most of the scripts do work. In particular comments on comicskingdom.com do not work and the same with comments on seattletimes.com which apparently uses the same script. Both websites work on Windows 10.

I've followed every guide I've found but the issue still persists. I've created a new profile, reinstalled ff after deleting the whole file from my pc, deleted all cookies for a dozen times, disabled all extensions, started ff in that problem mode or whatever it's called and I still can't login to certain websites. See attached photo. And Please don't blame this on the recent storm, this has been an issue for a long time now. We keep getting updates but no fixes. The only answer I've seen given is to disable all my security software, that's not going to happen. Microsoft edge has no issues with my security software.

I've had an issue on my Mac Mini since (I think) I bought it ~1.5 years ago. Firefox essentially stops responding randomly. When it happens, I can usually still scroll through the page, but I'm unable to click on any links on it. Other things like hovering over things that might change color also stops working. When it happens, it happens to all tabs that are open. It usually eventually comes back on it's own after a couple minutes. The weird thing is as soon as I load any other external application, even something as simple as Settings or Preview, Firefox will immediately spring back to life. Only a couple common addons (Ublock Origin) but it happens even with all add-ons disabled. It's sporadic, sometimes I can go all day without it happening, other times it happens every few minutes.

It's persisted through 3 different OS upgrades and countless Firefox versions. I've tried everything I can find about troubleshooting Firefox on mac and nothing works. It's not a resource thing as it happens with only Gmail open sometimes and Firefox being the only thing running. I'm at a loss and looking for anything that might help. I've never seen this issue on other Macs I've used Firefox with.

last night 10/18/24, i updated both my browser to the latest version and then also updated my windows 11 to the latest 24H2. since then, ive been having issues..either accessing some sites has been slow or doesnt connect. x (twitter) i have no issues. but facebook, it loads and then stops and its a white page. no error message or code. it just stops. and is a white page. idk maybe if you dont or havent created support for it yet? but other sites are ok. OS build is 26100.2033

Hi! One of my Firefox profiles is listed as "in use," but it's not -- I can't force close or reopen it. (This is all on my Mac laptop.) I tried to create a second profile and sync that frozen profile's bookmarks and history over, but that didn't work. I've restarted my main Firefox browser several times now, and it keeps giving me the same message. This all seemed to start after Firefox unexpectedly quit sometime overnight, so I'm not sure if a software update that forced Firefox to quit maybe caused this. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

ich habe kürzlich mein Passwort für mein Firefox-Konto geändert. Nach erfolgreicher Anmeldung stellte ich fest, dass alle meine zuvor gespeicherten Lesezeichen und Daten gelöscht wurden.

Ich hatte alle Daten wie Lesezeichen, gespeicherte Passwörter und Verläufe in meinem Firefox-Profil gesichert, aber nach der Passwortänderung ist alles verschwunden.

Könnten Sie mir bitte weiterhelfen, warum das passiert ist und ob es eine Möglichkeit gibt, meine Daten wiederherzustellen?

I had my Dell laptop crash. I reinstalled Windows 11 Pro 10.0.22000 BUILD 22000. I installed Firefox 131.0 (64-bit). Before the crash I had a Microsoft version of Firefox. Now, I CANNOT get Firefox to save my names and passwords for the sites I access. It's frustrating. What else can or should I do to get this to perform as advertised??? Thanks for any help.

I’m encountering a strange issue when using Firefox to access videos on a particular website Patriot PDR. The site itself loads perfectly, but whenever I try to play any embedded videos or media on the page, the video either doesn’t load or remains stuck buffering.

Interestingly, I’ve tested the same website and videos on other browsers like Chrome and Edge, and they work flawlessly. I’ve already tried clearing the cache, disabling hardware acceleration, and running Firefox in Safe Mode, but the problem persists only on Firefox.

Could this be a compatibility issue between Firefox and the way the media is embedded on this specific site? I would appreciate any suggestions to resolve this problem.

every time I login to my email, this message comes up. I have tried clicking on both buttons and I have checked that ionos is my default email in both Firefox settings and Windows settings. why does it keep happening?

Use Firefox to open email.ionos.co.uk every time you click a link that opens your email? Set as default Not now

'Set as default' and 'not now' are the buttons but I cannot screen shot this

After 2 days it used to finally load without my doing anything, but not now. I never loads using Firefox.

Tried: Clear the Cache and remove the Cookies for websites that cause problems via the "3-bar" Firefox menu button (Settings), click the padlock icon (Clear cookies and site data) for the domain in the selected tab.

You can check for issues with Enhanced Tracking Protection. Firefox shows a purple shield instead of a gray shield at the left end of the location/address bar in case Enhanced Tracking Protection is blocking content.

   click the shield icon for more detail and possibly disable the protection 

the sheild has a slash thru it saying "enhanced tracking is off for this site" when i put my mouse over it.

I am in the pharmaceutical industry and using ectd program, which is producing an xml backbone (directories) containing pharmaceutical information (pdfs). Only internet explorer can show this. Chrome has recently lost this ability. Firefox shows only some headings, like reading the index.xml only and not detecting the other directories. Is there an option/addon so I can view the contents correctly? I cannot attach the export of the ectd program (index.html & backbone/directories) so you can see to what I refer to, only the pics.

When I start PiP on Youtube via the keyboard shortcut 'command+option+shift+]', the miniplayer becomes focused, such that pressing 'control+tab' only cycles through options in the miniplayer, rather than switching tabs. It seems to me that the fix would be to force the focus back to the main window either automatically, or if control is held while pressing tab.

Hello Firefox is my default browser Now I have undesirable ads in the Promotions tab. Of course they disappear if I delete the Promotions tab, but the Promotions tab is very convenient. I can't mark them as spam. I don't have this problem at all with Chrome. Please tell me what to do. Sincerely
