Hi, is there any fix for the following? The functionality is intentional but it is absolutely maddening, so I'm hoping there is a plugin workaround or something:

The user should never be in a position where one simple wrong move obliterates things they've saved (even if it is a recoverable situation). To say 'the user must close windows in a certain order else lose all the tabs they clearly don't want to lose' is just bizarre.

the certificate on my linksys lrt 214 router not recognized. used to be able with previous versions to bypass security with advanced tab no longer able to do this cannot use older versions of firefox to bypass. need to access web interface of router at 192.168.1.1 to upgrade certificate but cannot. linksys does not have a work around. please help

I have my Firefox Firefox Privacy & Security History settings set to 'Always Use Private Browsing Mode.' Yet every time I open Firefox and visit the History tab, 'Recently Closed Tabs' shows a history of the websites I've visited. How do I disable this feature?

Everytime I try to open a tab on my Firefox window, it loads for a second before a blank screen saying that my tab has crashed. The only times I can open a new tab is on a private window.

Since firefox's latest update I am unable to access my online PNC banking account. PNC says that Firefox is no longer compatible with their online banking system. I'm using an IMAC computer. Can't event imagine how to debug this - FF has stopped working totally from the command line, despite options etc It is still working when run from the dock however. But I need to start it from the terminal for the second profile

As of a few days ago whenever I start Firefox the window appears with the Bookmarks sidebar panel already opened. I click the "X" on the sidebar and it will close - until the next time I start Firefox. If I choose Menu->View->Sidebar->Bookmarks and uncheck it the panel will close - until the next time I start Firefox. No matter how the Bookmarks sidebar is closed, it will always reappear when Firefox is restarted. Even if I switch to some other sidebar, Bookmarks will replace it on startup.

I've searched about:config and found no setting which seems to control sidebar behavior on startup.

I assume this is the result of some recent update. Is there no longer a way to permanently disable the Bookmarks sidebar?

MacOS 12.7.5 Firefox 127.0 (64-bit)

Up through Monday, 10-16-2023, I could play Amazon Prime Videos. As of Tuesday, 10-17, I no longer can. I can do this on other browsers, e.g. Chrome and Safari. Can this be fixed or do I need to stop using Firefox?

If I search "lemmy", I want to see that in the URL instead of the full search URL: https://www.google.com/search?q=lemmy. It makes it easier to copy the search query. If the query has spaces than they're written with +s in the URL. I remember months ago this ended up being the default even for pre-existing Firefox profiles, but then it was changed back.

Hi friends. We have had some recent power outages when everything was back up running my youtube screen only shows the video but everything else is white. I will try to attach a screenshot.

Thru Firefox, I use Tineye to find related photos - I use it all the time, it's been great - I always use a VPN and have never had problems until now (as of yesterday). Now it won't search, a verify you're human window comes up, and I have to keep clicking squares, which I do - but then it says to allow cookies and start over. Well I don't want to allow cookies (I assume it's one of the options I have thru Firefox to block cookies), and I can't find where to allow cookies even if I did (I went to Firefox preferences etc) and I don't want to disable my VPN. Maybe I should mention that I just added or started a Mozilla account, as I have had immense trouble with my aol emails, and am trying to move everything over to a gmail account. My sign in to Firefox was the aol email, and I had to (try, I thought I did it) add another account, which I think I did successfully. So it was right after that, that all this started. Help please! I have been using Firefox for many years and I have never had problems, until now, out of nowhere Firefox closes and the little window opens that the report is being sent to Firefox, but I can no longer restart or open Firefox, until I reset the computer, This can happen one, two, three and even four times a day, making it very uncomfortable to reset the computer.

I have already tried many ways to solve the problem, from completely uninstalling Firefox and reinstalling it, I use very few extensions, I already disabled WebGL and also disabled hardware acceleration, nothing has worked, when Firefox closes, I cannot open Firefox Developer either and That browser was not even open at the time of the failure with Firefox.

I am using Firefox 115.8.0esr version. I had previous userchrome.css from older versions of firefox from 5 years back which does not work anymore.

Need userchrome.css content for highlighting background color of bookmarks in dropdown.

I want to re-order the add-ons / extensions in the toolbar shared with the search bar. Customize toolbar only has functions/icons related to the operation of Firefox. I want to customize the extensions toolbar, but how?

In the add-ons page, I can remove, disable, or enable extensions, but I cannot change the order of them.

As an example, there is an add-on for my Firefox account that is leftmost in the bar of extension icons. I would like to move it all the way to the right. Again, how would I do that?

Firefox has been crashing constantly for a few days now. Every time I start the program, it starts using more and more GB of RAM until it crashes at over 100 GB. I have already deleted and reinstalled the program and cannot explain why it is using so much memory. Can anyone help me?

Using up to date Firefox on a Mac, London UK. Recently returned from travel in Japan. The bank cards auto-fill stopped working & Auto-fill does not appear in Privacy Settings (it is not there – no need to request a check please:)?

Spent 2 hours on Mozilla support/community etc. No answers – including 'make a new profile'...(& why - won' that affect history etc)?

Would be very grateful for any help please?

In my location, my only option for internet access is a mobile hotspot with limited data. Consequently, I am always mindful of my data usage when using my laptop. Despite primarily browsing static pages, email, and other low-data activities, I often find my data usage higher than anticipated. The main culprit comes to mind to be videos embedded in news articles. Sometimes, with multiple tabs open, I switch to an inactive tab only to find a video playing. Although I've configured my Firefox preferences not to autoplay videos, it seems that YouTube videos still override these settings.

So, my question is, when a tab is inactive, does Firefox stop all data transfer for that tab in the background? And if not, what are the solutions to stop any background data other than continually closing all tabs?

Also, any suggestions on this topic are appreciated, especially from and to users who also live in remote areas without fiber, DSL, etc.
