Hi, I just want to ask about the customization option on the new tab's low right corner (the little pencil icon). I've had a background image called "Galaxy" that i thought was pretty, but it disappeared (probably sync settings on other devices, idc) and now the background is just system gray. The issue is that i cannot find the system background in "Themes" nor in the "Customization" (picrel) - there is only "reset to defaults". I really like Firefox and this was pretty cool so I'd like it back. Thanks in advance :)

When opening a new window on firefox I see a "homepage" (No URL offered at the top of the page), offering some helpful, frequently used shortcut icons followed by a number of headings, i.e. : Popular Today, Connections, Featured Videos, etc., providing image/links to stories from various "news" or "interest" websites, which I can click on to view. Opening a number of these sites in order to view the advertised "story" require setting up a free, or paywall account/membership, etc.. How can I eliminate these undesirable/unwanted options from being "offered" or shown on my firefox homepage? Something may look interesting, but I'm not one to sign up, or pay to view these opportunities. I see where I can eliminate entire Categories, but what I'm trying to do is block, or eliminate the "offer to view" what I deem "unwanted offers to sign up to view this "story". Can this "Junk/Bait" be eliminated from my homepage on a site by site basis? As examples: CNN, Wired", "the cut", among others. Can the page be configured to eliminate the offering of "Non-Free", "Non-Membership", "Non-Signup" Sites? (Apologies for my lack of appropriate semantics, I'm just a user, not an Internet Expert, developer, or or software-savvy person.) As an aside, is there a way to contact a real live human person at Mozilla/Firefox to assist with issues like this, or answer related questions. All I seem to find are circular links to "Contact Mozilla", which bring me to unrelated FAQ databases, and user forums, etc., where I find I'm unable to get an answer to the question asked? When I click on the search box in the middle of the New Tab page and start typing, the focus automatically jumps to the Address Bar (Awesomebar). I want the typing to stay within the central search field.

In about:config, I have set browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.improvesearch.handoffToAwesomebar to false. However, this did not fix the problem — the input is still being redirected to the top address bar.

hi there, I'm using FF147.0.3 on a windows 11 version 25H2 laptop. I use google as my default search engine. When I open a new tab the google search page opens as usual. But now all of a sudden as soon as I start typing, search suggestions are appearing in the address box and not in the main google search page bar.

I've tried "settings-search-address bar" and turned off all features but that had no effect on the problem. I've reset the laptop several times but the issue still remains.

This problem is really annoying so any help would be great. Cheers Jeff

Firefox has shortcuts at the top of any new tab opened. These are usually your most visited pages. For most shortcuts, if you click the three dots you get a menu of: Pin Edit Open in a New Window Open in a New Private Window Dismiss Delete From History

This is the menu you get for almost all shortcuts EXCEPT for Amazon. For the Amazon shortcut you get: Pin Dismiss

That's it. No opportunity to edit it. And if you click on the shortcut, it doesn't take you to Amazon.com, instead it opens "Amazon.com Search" in the address bar. I don't want Search, I want to go to the Amazon home page but the shortcut doesn't take me to the Amazon homepage like it used to. Why is this broken now?

Hi, On previous releases of firefox I could load 8 items across the home display. After upgrading I can only get 5 items and I can't find a way to increase this. I'm a new user so maybe I'm just dumb but I would appreciate some help. linux/ubuntu/firefox desktop. mike_a

I noticed recently that my 'Add Shortcut' button has disappeared. I've been through other articles and they were of no help. I have 4 rows selected for shortcuts so theres no reason for it to be gone.

Recently, when I open a new tab in Firefox (Windows) I started getting a drop-down box for Google instead of shield, lock, and sliders followed by the query/address bar. See attachment. I have no way to drag and drop this search query address. If I follow this by clicking on the search icon in the Google query field below, I get the normal Firefox address bar with the lock icon and the ability to save the query address by dragging and dropping the lock icon. How can I get back to the normal Firefox browsing address bar.

I went to settings to make sure Firefox Home was the default loaded on New Tabs, which it is. How do I fix this?

I noticed that somewhat recently the way new tab loooks has changed.

I always liked having it zoomed in, but I noticed that now when I zoom it in - it focuses on the empty space above tiles, which makes no sense to me. Ideally I would want the firefox logo to always be on top to get rid of the empty space and show more tiles.

This pretty much summarizes the issue, I hope it makes sense. Included a screenshot of what I am taking about.

I was really shocked and horrified to see Firefox place the Qatari regime's propaganda mouthpiece on my home screen. The Qatari regime is one of the worlds worst abusers of human rights. It allows no political parties, tolerates no criticism, and severely punishes online dissent. It has absolutely no LGBQ rights, is deeply misogynistic and antisemitic and uses slave labor extensively. Additionally, it is a known supporter of extremism and terrorism. It is not OK to push their propaganda outlet on the front page.

I had to actually sign up fort a Mozilla account,the multiple hoops I had to jump through were ridicules, in order to ask a question of Firefox. I do not want my address bar to be my search engine. How do I disable the search engine in my address bar? And now I have to wait for an answer!!!!!!!! I used to love and trust Firefox. Not anymore.

I updated my firefox to Version 143.0.4 (64-bit). (I am using Mac). I was trying to change my wallpaper, so I went to the pencil and customize part of the new tab, and when I look at the wallpaper thing, I just see that it says "Reset to default". I didn't see any of the things that said upload image or any of that. just reset to default. I really wanted to change my wallpaper, so is there something I'm missing or something?

I'm sorry, maybe the problem was there in previous versions however I just noticed it. Or rather the absence of it. The problem is when I open a new tab where I had that mini weather report widget enabled (and I checked that the button in the settings is set to be enabled) the widget is not there anymore, nowhere to be seen.

I made two screenshots of my browser's new tab with no weather widget and one with the settings open to show that the weather widget on/off button is enabled. I'm sorry however that I had to blur things I thought it would be sensitive information.

My OS is Win11 Home Greek and my Firefox is in Greek as well.
