Couldn't open original download ("Blocked Publisher" notification). This morning, I received a second notification from a different URL. Smells like a malware scam to me.

I keep getting a screen popping up that says "Urgent Firefox Update". My protection software is blocking it, saying it's a Trojan. When I go to Mozilla, it says my Firefox is up to date. Is there an Urget Update or not?

When i go to a website i have previously gone too before without problem the captcha doesn't appear at all anymore. I tried browsing the net for answers but found little help. I recently tried going through my browser settings and trying different things and apparently got it to work again after installing the new java but it didn't completely fix the problem. After closing the browser and reopening it, the captcha was no where to be found again? Help please!?

The first image shows how this website screen I use all the time appears on Firefox. Then next to that is how it is suppose to appear as it appears on IE11. Some kind of plug in is required, but I can't figure out which one is needed to fix this problem.

I've checked Java which is properly installed and flash player is also installed. When I look at this screen through IE11, I see the missing animated image, but when I look at it through firefox, I get a blank area with the message you see displayed saying "A plugi is needed to display this content". This is happening in many other areas as well when I use Firefox. I've tried reinstalling firefox and it still comes up with this issue. I'm frustrated and out of ideas on what to do to get this working correctly.

Running Firefox on Windows 10 on my laptop (I upgraded from WIndows 8.1 a month or two ago), the Flash Player plugin hasn't been working and said it was out of date and that the latest version should be installed. When I try to install it I get a message

     Adobe Flash Player
     Application initialization error.

On advice I tried uninstalling the previous version and deleting the downloaded exe file before trying again, but I still get the same error message. I have also tried uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox, and have tried rebooting my laptop between various stages (as suggested in a reply to a similar post), but whatever I try, I still get the same error message.

Trying to get directions via google maps on my PC. The map comes up a solid black. Didn't do that before, but today it has. Did something change while I was asleep? Have no idea what to do (I'm not a techie). Can anyone help?

I want to use the firefox browser as part of a display solution in our lobby to show animated information including live contents from our website. For this I need to be able to launch the Firefox browser in full screen mode when automatically starting the display PC up in the morning. How can I launch the Firefox browser in Full Screen mode, as the display needs to starts unattended.

I tried to close the browser when it is in full screen mode and then hoped the browser would relaunch next time in Full Screen mode as suggested in the Mozilla Firefox forum but this seems no longer to be supported by the latest browser.

Hi- I have researched this extensively and have tried ALL the popular suggested tasks online to combat FF's high CPU usage. My FF system eats up 275k-350k of memory even while I have tried shutting down most processes and programs and FF add-ons and in Safemode, too. Also uninstalled it twice. Nothing works.

I'm using a: Windows 7 Pro, 64 bit Intel-Core i7-4770k Processor 3.50 GHZ 32 GB RAM. Machine is (clone) only 2 years old.

What are solutions that are not listed on your Help Pages here for this issue as all solutions seem to be more or less the same from everyone here?

PS: I have no desire to use MS I.E. or other browsers. I'm otherwise happy and too rooted down with FF to switch.

There are newspaper and magazine sites that block access to their content unless you are able whitelist their site. This allows (or stops blocking) their ads, which in turn is how they help pay for their sites. I can't find any information on how to do this and can't locate a whitelist in Firefox. Where do I start and what steps are required for creating or adding to a whitelist of websites whose ads are not blocked? Thank you!

I have always only had the Shockwave Flash, Adobe Acrobat and Silvelight Plug-In plugins installed on my firefox browser but I just noticed all these extra plugins installed on my browser which I did not install and have no idea what they are there for. Could someone please tell me what they are for and if I need them? Thanks a lot.

I think a browser should let me overturn security alerts and doesn't have the right to block me from doing something if I really want to.

Using Firefox 47.0 on Windows 10

Hi,

I believe since last update, Firefox won't open .swf files stored on the local computer anymore. Whenever I try to open the local .swf file, Firefox asks me if I wish to open the file (see attached screenshot), then when I click Open with Firefox and the OK button it just re-prompts me again with the same question (same as screenshot). Because of this behaviour, I tried to manually set the .swf extension in the Firefox settings to always open .swf without asking, but that gives me flashback nightmares from 15 years ago when popup blockers weren't that common: Firefox loops and creates an infinites number of tabs while not actually opening the .swf file. I also tried to see if deleting the mimeTypes.rdf file from the Firefox profiles folder makes any difference but that doesn't help either.

I tried multiple .swf files but Firefox doesn't want to open them. The files itself are not corrupt and work fine in Edge browser. Also, I do have flash installed and flash sites and videos work perfectly fine.

How do I fix this? Thanks in advance.

I need to install the Uplayer plug in. It Does not show in the list of plugins. I have the uplayer.exe program installed. I am using windows10.

I had it installed at one time as a plug in but it is gone now.

I would use it in connection with a D-Link monitoring program.

At one time it asked me to allow public networks to access my system. Then it worked.

D-Link techs tell me to activate it in plug-ins but it does not show there.

I received notice from Firefox about its latest update. After completing the update (47.0), the cache will not clear to '0' as it has done for years. I went to about:cache and saw a 'cache2' that will not clear 62kb. I know this is not much, but I do not like the fact that it will no longer completely zero. Then I noticed a folder called 'doomed'.

Can cache2 be disabled? Is there someway to completely clear cache2? Is 'doomed' malware?

Every time when i want to open a new tab, i need to copy the url in current tab and open a new tab and paste the url, and then load the page. It would be lot easier if there is a shortcut key to duplicate my current tab.

Firefox has been refusing to open any PDF files with the built-in PDF-viewer from my computer for a few days now, and it's pretty annoying / frustrating. It only offers me to either open or save the file as..., and when I click on opening it, Firefox opens a new blank tab and offers the same thing again, and again, and on and on. :) With online PDF files there's no such problem.

Application settings are set to; Portable Document Format (PDF): Preview in Firefox - PDF file: always ask

I'm using the latest version of Firefox (47.0.1 currently) and Windows 8.1 Pro x64, and no other PDF-viewer application is installed.
