Youtube Videos stutter - not watchable. Basic functionality in Facebook is painful. It's like the 1990's all over. Can anyone help. Please don't suggest the absurd "Reset Firefox" function. I've been with FF since pretty much the beginning, it's the only browser I recommend to friends, family or clients. Since 10e and the whole multiprocess roll out, I've "fixed" peoples slow and unresponsive FF experience by disabling this useless feature and H/W acceleration.
Now my mailbox is full of complaints about slow unresponsive browsing, plus it using more system resources leaving clients with less powerful machines with real problems.
C'mon Moz, we've been mates for decades, stood by you when everyone was looking at whatever MS was waiving at them, laughed at Google when they tried to play with the big boy, but now I'm feeling sheepish about my claims of Mozilla putting its users needs first, not forcing features on users, giving its users a choice enabling a freedom that you don't have with Edge or Chrome
Please give us back one of the remaining freedoms we have left, don't be MICROSOFT!

My Firefox updated to 67.0.1. Now when I type something into my search bar it shows up as results in the address bar. I DO NOT WANT THIS. I used to be able to have typed my favorite websites into the address bar and basically saved them there so I could just drop down and go to a specific site. Now that is gone and all these search results are there. I WANT MY FIREFOX BACK TO THE WAY IT WAS. I don't understand why your company thinks this is a good thing. If there is no way to change this problem them I am going to remove Firefox from my computer and go with a different web browser.

Intel Core i3-3220 (2 cores with 3,3 Ghz), Windows 10 latest version x64, 4 GB RAM, relativ new Samsung SSD, NVIDIA GT 1030 with drivers not updated in a while.
I have bad memory but I think I have this PC about 4 months and this Firefox problem since 2 months, could be totally different because I have really bad memory.
I thought it might be a extension or a setting so I started with a new profile, unfortunatelly it didn't help.
I think tab switching very often is over 3 seconds, doesn't matter much if there 5 or 15 tabs open, I use Firefox since 2002, recommended it to many people and never had such a big problem like this before.

The stated reason for removing the "don't update" option, which was used by most to remove the nagware, was to 'help' orphans or some such nonsense. If that was real you'd do it once a month maybe to make people aware. That is NOT what you are doing.
Your percentage of the market is deprecating because of nonsense like this. Also breaking all the wonderful extensions we used for years and years. You seem to have a habit of doing what you want, not what your user base wants. Have any of you ever worked for a commercial product? One that was successful?

I am very disappointed and angry that you have decided to totally get rid of Personas and force Firefox Color on your users. I have tried Firefox Color and absolutely hate it. I tried to make my own theme with an image stored on my pc and could not get it to display correctly. There is absolutely no help for your shitty FF Color or any way of increasing or decreasing custom image sizes. I liked the old Personas Plus better and hardly had any trouble with them all the years I've been using them. Now I can't even view my favorites or collected Personas on my version of Firefox (which is 56) on the addons site. I know that this issue has been fixed with newer versions of FF, but I ABSOLUTELY REFUSE to update FF anymore thanks to your idiocy with removing a great deal of addons that I use almost daily. Bring back Personas and get rid of FF Color!!!!

I switched to the ESR version in order to continue including user notes with each Bookmark (on the Notes tab). This feature was removed from the regular version of Firefox some time ago, and this has been an effective workaround.
Bookmarks are still working properly on my Windows 10 laptop running Firefox Quantum 60.4.0esr. However I loaded the same version on a newly-purchased Windows 10 laptop and I'm unable to add, move or edit Bookmarks - or add new folders on that device. I've tried every solution suggested on this site, to no avail (refresh; try Safe Mode; edit my Profile Folder; reboot; uninstall and reinstall Firefox; etc).
Today I tried upgrading to Firefox Quantum 60.5.0esr and the problem persists. I can no longer use Bookmarks at all.
I don't understand why Mozilla keeps implementing changes that stop Bookmarks from functioning properly. The main reason I've always used and supported Mozilla browsers (starting with Netscape Navigator!) is the superior Bookmarks feature.
PLEASE FIX BOOKMARKS, AND DON'T MAKE ANY FURTHER CHANGES!

Shift+Delete no longer works to remove these erroneous results. I've never heard of, used, visited, or wanted to visit "http://nycsubway.org/" or anything related to it, but now firefox's "awesome" bar sends me there instead of Netflix, which I use daily. I've turned off all the random suggestions for the address bar but these random, wrong, ads keep popping up. If I've never used it, and I'm not searching for it, putting it there must mean "http://nycsubway.org/" has paid you to be an annoyance in or lives. Or why else would you do this?!

I was helping out a client and found a weird issue.
2010 iMac, 16GB RAM, 500GB SSD, clean install of OS X High Sierra.
This Mac passes all Apple Hardware Tests, the SSD is new, the RAM is good, the GPU is fine as well.
I can run Chrome or Safari with a dozen or more tabs open running video and it's fine. I have 6 Adobe CS apps open and testing, it's fine.
As soon as I run Firefox and have more than 3 tabs going. the screen goes black or I get the scrambled pink and green video artifacts that point at a failing GPU.
Stranger still... with zero other apps installed or system add-ons running, the third time I was able to replicate the behavior, I restarted... and the High Sierra install was broken and I had to reinstall clean from scratch. (A huge waste of my time by the way).

I turned off hardware acceleration, I am running the current video drivers for this Radeon card.
I burned an entire day of my life troubleshooting this issue. Because it presented itself as a GPU issue and these 2010 iMacs eventually cook their GPUs, I started there... because I'm not a daily Firefox user, it never occurred to me that your software was at fault.
Because I don't want to test your myriad solutions to get back to zero, my recommendation to my client is to not use your product in it's current incarnation on older hardware. As I stated before, Chrome and Safari current versions cause zero problems and frankly, that's a quicker fix.

After searching and applying several settings, I am still getting those annoying messages, popups and whatsoever. No matter what I do. I always preferred Firefox as my most favorable browser for many, many years, however I noticed that I started using Chrome more and more because of all these little annoyances.
The last few things I tried are:
about:config dom.webnotifications.enabled (false) dom.push.enabled (false) dom.webnotifications.serviceworker.enabled (false) (for notifications)
about:config media.autoplay.allow-muted (false) media.autoplay.default (2) (for autoplay media)
These ones didn't help: media.autoplay.enabled.user-gestures-needed (false) media.autoplay.ask-permission (false)
Though media doesn't autoplay, I do get a notifcation about if I want to play the media or something similar. Sigh.
Also the help page on Firefox doesn't help at all, like this one: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/block-autoplay For example; I don't have the "For websites that autoplay sound"-option at all there. See screenshot included.
So what I am trying to here (maybe someone can give me the exact config options):
1. Disable permantly the auto-play function for all media and for all websites 2. Disable every single notification type; I don't want to be asked if I want to play media/sound/music, nor do I want to be asked if I want website notifications or any other kind of notification. I don't want to see a single message at all!!
I hope someone can give me the right settings and/or what to change to make this happen permantly. It's driving me nuts....! Seriously. NUTS! :S
Sidenote; I am also experiencing issues with Firefox on my OnePlus 6T. Sometimes when I enter an URL it doesn't load at all, the screen stays white and doesn't do anything. Closing and starting the app doesn't help. The only solution (sometimes) is to close all my tabs (doesn't matter if it's 10, 40 or 99 tabs). If that fails the solution is a reboot of the phone. And no, it's not the internet connection because a) Chrome wouldn't work, b) nor my other apps. I do use Synchronization between my accounts. The OnePlus 6T was a fresh installation from a couple of weeks ago. Before that (and on my other phone) I had this issue also....
Maybe someone can shed some light as well on the Android issue??
