I'm on a Mac, running the latest version of Firefox. Recently I've had some work to do that meant I wanted to keep multiple tabs open, so I changed my settings to 'restore previous session' so I'd get my tabs back when I turned my computer off/on.

For a few days all was going well, then Firefox crashed. I managed to get it back up again and change the setting so it wasn't trying to restore multiple tabs. But since then no luck, Firefox opens but I get the spinning wheel curser and Firefox shows as non-responsive, I have to force quit the app.

I've tried uninstalling it, still no luck. I'm writing this from Google Chrome.

Can anyone help? I much prefer Firefox, but it's currently unusable for me, and as the browser freezers I can't get into any of the settings etc.

I cant open Firefox - screen/ window comes up with message: Firefox can't find the file at jar:file:///Applications/Firefox.app/Contents/Resources/browser/omni.ja!/chrome/en-GB/locale/branding/browserconfig.properties.

How do I get back to a usual opening of firefox?

Please help as I am in the middle of an exam. Firefox browser freezes or unresponsive on MacBook 2019. I have installed and uninstalled several times to no vail.

Caution, I am not IT savvy and their website help is not helpful at all.

The tick does not appear in the tick box it is invisible/not selected everytime i click, this comes back as an error as the tick is not registering. I have recently updated Mac sofeware and it started happening after that.

I need to know if the steps to delete cache and cookies in Firefox 3.5 is the same as for the latest version--this is for Firefox in Mac, not PC. I understand the newest version is 74 so I imagine the process must have changed but I dont exactly know...

Also, if the process has changed, what was the old process?

Today I downloaded FF at work, made a FF account using my personal email account and created a load of work related bookmarks and passwords etc. Got home and downloaded FF on my mac and realized when I signed in that I got all my work related passwords and bookmarks etc. That is all useless to me as it's behind a private network.

So, I thought I'll create two FF accounts, 1 for work, 1 for personal. So I added a second email (my work email) to my FF account. Then made that work email my primary email and deleted the secondary email account (my personal email).

But the problem is that I can't use my supposedly deleted non associated personal email to create another FF account. Every time I do, it says "Primary account email required"

So what do I do

FF 69.0.1, OSX 10.12.6, everything browser is updated. Frequent crashes in normal mode, even with all addons disabled. Stable in Safe Mode. I've been through the entire troubleshooting article and handled everything except the OS, which I can't do because of other software requirements. Crashes are hard OS crashes & reboots, not FF Crash Reporter. Most often is 'plugin_container' and less often 'kernel_task'. System is completely stable without FF running and with FF in Safe Mode. Is there anything else I can do? I deeply depend on my browser, have used FF since inception and would like to not switch to "that which is not evil" (which I'm having to use here because moz.org wouldn't let me log in in Safe Mode in FF).

I need help finding a compatible browser version that has the proper plugin that will allow me to view my ClareControls camera via Mozilla. According to the link below from Clare Controls, they said in order to get the proper plug in, you would need to download a browser that has NPAPI plugin. Can anyone help with this?

as soon as I start Firefox it becomes hidden, and I can't access it. If I click again on the app, it shows up and is immediately hidden.

I have already tried to delete and clean install, but this didn't solved.

System: MacBook Pro (Retina early 2015) @2,7GHz i5 OS: macOS High Sierra 10.13.6

Today after trying to open a random website out of my Mail-App, Firefox did't open. Now, when launching the Firefox-icon in the dock, it does the little jumping-animation, but after that nothing happens. No error-message either.

Before that, Firefox functioned perfectly. I can't remember installing any updates or changing any preferences today.

I tried reinstalling Firefox (clean reinstall) as described in several other posts. Also tried the suggestions on the Mozilla Support-Page ("Firefox won't start - find solutions"). Opening Firefox in Safe Mode or by holding the option-key also didn't work.

Would really appreciate your help, thanks.

Edit: When moving and launching Firefox from another drive (SD-Card or initial "virtual" Firefox-drive) it somehow workes!

I recently used App Cleaner and Uninstaller to delete an extra copy of Firefox on my MacBook Pro. The duplicate application file was already named Firefox2 and I selected that along with it's service files and user profiles, etc. to be deleted. To my surprise, both copies were deleted and I had enabled the deletion to bypass the trash directory. I'm also still kicking myself for failing to make an image of my hard drive prior to the deletion. I used several 3rd party apps to try restoring the files as I'm interested in the stored passwords and the bookmarks. Not an easy task and not practical.

One of my data recovery apps found a copy of bookmarks that I had exported a while back as well as a few folders with a collection of what seems to be user application support files. I'm not sure, but I think they are profiles. There are several folders (although I'm the only user of this computer) each named with an 8-character alphanumeric name followed by the file extension of "default-" plus a 13 digit number.

Among the contents of each are numerous file, folders and subfolders with names that include: add-ons, bookmarks, cookies, extensions, logins, perfs, sesssionstore, signon, webapps, etc. Assuming that theses are the profiles, how can restore them?

In addition, I also found several folder with names such as "0120B2F92360F7C11C4B3CFAC56B25F1B8FA2303C8" containing one file with names such as "E71086F8-C7A8-4D60-9C49-7F291855FE17.01f61a19376cb7ec511b721ea5737760f85b218462". TextEdfit show mostly machine code with text based headers that start with "com.apple..." Not sure if these are useful.

Two of those files appear to be interesting:

    com.apple.backupd.filechecklist
    System.keychain-orig

I don't know if these are useful or not.

I am planning to download and install the latest version of Firefox compatible with Mac OS 10.12. What do I need to do to restore the information from these files and which files are actually relevant?

Your guidance would be greatly appreciated.

I am using a Macbook Air laptop. Three days ago when I turned on pbs newshour youtube, the picture displayed. BUT there is no volumn. When I click on the volumn it appears to be on, yet no sound is heard. What to do? Thanks.

It leaves an icon on the screen which will not delete. At the Finder window trying to drag it to the trash it says it cannot be deleted. I am new to Firefox on Mac. If anyone can help please make it simple to follow. Thanks
