Hello, FF82.0.2 I want to change and lock the settings "network.cookie.cookieBehavior" and "network.cookie.lifetimePolicy" for user via the mozilla.cfg. Also I'm using the policies.json (which would be my preferred option for changing the network.cookie..., but it doesn't work neither)

But none of them locked or changed the settings for the user. Is this a known problem or are there any other settings, which affect the cookiesettings?

I am really new to this and there were already old configs from another colleague (which has left the company and there are no documentations).

Thank you :)

I am trying to package Firefox, with the browsers auto update disabled (updates are handled by the package manager, not the browser; having Firefox prompt at the user may cause confusion). However, I haven't been able to Firefox's nagging with recent (77+) versions.

I have tried writing a policies.json file seems to have no effect. In fact, Firefox didn't even look in system directories like /etc and /lib64/firefox. Is this an Enterprise Firefox feature? Is it even possible to share a single installation of Firefox between users (having their personal prefs in their home directories, ofcourse).

Thanks in advance!

Greetings

I'm trying to deploy firefox in spanish using policies.json and this is the code im using:

{

 "policies": {
   "Extensions": {
     "Install": ["/usr/lib64/firefox/distribution/extensions/langpack-es-MX@firefox.mozilla.org.xpi"],
     "Uninstall": [],
     "Locked":  []
   }
 }

}

Whenever i launch firefox, the langpack is not installed, the "about:policies" page display the following error:

Download failed - ERROR_NETWORK_FAILURE - file:///usr/lib64/firefox/distribution/extensions/langpack-es-MX@firefox.mozilla.org.xpi

We always put the folder of the language pack in /firefox/browser/extensions/ but after upgrading to firefox 76 is not working, i can install manually the langpack but that's not an option. Is there is something wrong with my code?

Sorry for my broken english.

I'm trying to install multiple Root CA's using Firefox policies. I have a folder with 50 Certificates and while I know I can specify them each individually using "Certificates | Install" like in the example below, I wanted to know if there was a way to point to a whole folder and install those certs since it is way less messy that way.

I know the documentation says you can specify specific paths to files like so Example:

{

 "policies": {
   "Certificates": {
     "Install": ["cert1.der", "/home/username/cert2.pem"]
   }
 }

}

But I was trying to do something like this (So far unsucessfully): "Install": ["/path/to/folder/*.crt"] or "Install": ["/path/to/folder/*"] or "Install": ["/path/to/folder/"] or "Install": ["/path/to/folder"]

I also know there are other ways to install certs to Firefox programmatically but I liked how simple the .json method was.

Hi, I'm in a corporate enviroment and I've deployed Firefox ESR. For a special project, I need to avoid that users can set "Use Acrobat for open PDF". In other words, I need to force firefox to use always the pdf preview inside firefox and never let the user to change this. I've looked at GPO but nothing found. Can I use pref.js or other things to reach that?

thanks

Trying the new msi for firefox for deployment through SCCM. The application install correctly but does not detect properly. SCCM uses the msi GUID to verify the application installed but fails to see it. I checked the Identifying Number through PowerShell on the machine using: get-wmiobject Win32_Product | Format-Table IdentifyingNumber, name

But no result is shown for Firefox. When Firefox is imported into SCCM it does generate a GUID to detect {1294A4C5-9977-480F-9497-C0EA1E630130} but it can't be found after install. Even when installing directly from the msi without SCCM.

We would like to rollout our CA's also in Windows 10. I following that instruction: https://github.com/mozilla/policy-templates/blob/master/README.md

And i add this file:

{

"policies": {
  "BlockAboutAddons": true,
  "BlockAboutConfig": true,
     "Certificates": {
     "ImportEnterpriseRoots": true,
     "Install": ["%SYSTEMDRIVE%/Company/ca.crt"]
   }
}

}

Syntax is ok, the blocks are working fine. But the certpath is ignored. Only for test i put the cert in the Folder:

%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Certificates

And this is also working fine. But no solution for my problem that i would like to set an full path to the cert, globaly for all users.

Thanks a lot

The day that DNS-over-HTTPS is released seems to come closer which has me worried. We run Firefox on 100+ machines for NGO's, most off the people use it as it is the default browser.

We run internal DNS, as far as I can tell DoH will break this, internal DNS won't resolve in Firefox any longer. Is there a way to prevent DoH rollout on our network. Other than blocking updates or dropping Firefox all together.

It will be a bad day when this rolls out and users start calling, so I would love to prevent it :)

Many thanks for any insights on this in advance.

Hello. I have a question regarding user profiles on SLES 12 SP3. When i install Firefox and then launch it under a user, it will automatically creates profile (".mozilla" folder) in it's "/home/<user>/" directory. Where does it get this default profile from, and is it possible to customize the default profile, so if another user will launch firefox for first time, it will copy this customized profile?
