The inbox had about 18 months worth of emails. I deleted three emails that had been flagged by Thunderbird as spam. Then I went to the trash folder and permanently deleted the trash that included many other unwanted emails.

When I returned to the inbox, the full list of emails was present but after clicking on any email there was no email content shown. A new email came in and the content was shown for that email.

The sent folder still shows all the sent emails.

After looking for solutions on the web, I selected the inbox, right clicked and opened properties. I then selected "Repair Folder". Now, the only email shown in the list is the new email that came in after the issues started.

I have looked for crash reports and it says there are no crash reports.

Taskbar badge on T-bird 115 icon remains after email has been read

Two emails arrive, and the badge displaying "2" appears on the taskbar icon for T-bird V. 115, POP, on a Windows 11 computer. There are no other unread emails. One email is read, and the 2 remains, instead of decrementing to 1. Then the second unread email is read, and the "2" still remains. The only way to get rid of the "2", which is now a false reading, is to close and reopen T-bird. Is there any reason, other than a bug, for the badge on the T-bird icon to be entirely unresponsive to reading all the remaining emails in the list? Are any Win 11 settings relevant for this issue area? [T-bird was downloaded yesterday, so up to date.]

Somehow I was running an unsupported ver 129 on a Win 10 system, not sure how. I was getting a warning message at startup. I decided to install the latest supported ver 128. I did that over the ver I was running and did not save, export or rename anything. Just one install over the other. I have lost my calendar that I spent months building. Did I lose it? Any possibility it is still around hiding somewhere? Help please, but I am prepared for the worst for being hasty in my decision. Cheers, TR

Hi Guys, I wonder if you can help . I have had Monzilla Thunderbird App for some while , primarily used for email, and access to my email account with Microsoft and has always been a bit of a pain to say the least. That I fear is because it was never set up properly by myself in the first place.

However, at the moment I can't receive any email from my PC ......."bards@btconnect.com " unless I sign in via a webpage. However, access via my smartphone using supplied Outlook email app, no problem.

So I am hopeful that you guys can help me sort out my PC access once and for all.

The current problem has arisen after receiving a forced donation / subscription page from Mozilla having made my donation I still do not have access to my email and folders.

Brief history: i. Originally PC access to account via Monzilla working fine, (donations made at intervals to Monzilla). ii. Microsoft then changed security systems and servers and with current setup at the time I couldn't get access to email incoming or outgoing ( problem with Imap / PoP3 servers). iii. Fix provided by Monzilla with new account denoted as .... bards@btconnect.com (OWL) whatever OWL stands for I do not know, (annual subscription required). iv. Even with the use of this get around , I still had problems sending mail this I believe was a problem down to default passwords and old server settings. (confliction between default settings and original account settings and use of OWL ? ). v. As mentioned above the current problem has arisen after receiving a forced donation / subscription page from Mozilla having made my donation I still do not have access to my email. problem with server settings again. Don't know what's going on ? and I am thoroughly confused and would appreciate some help getting things back on track. Thunderbird recently upgraded (?) to Version 15 on my Windows 10 laptop. Since them, when I go to look at the "Trash" folder, I get the message: "Unable to open the summary file for Trash on username@gmail.com. Perhaps there was an error on disk, or the full path is too long." I was able to fix it temporarily by restarting Windows 10, but the error is back a few hours later.

Compacting folders loses all email content from inbox

Thumderbird asked if it could compact folders. Said yes. Now all that shows is the title line for all emails in inbox, but NO content displayed. Can still see content… (читать ещё)

Thumderbird asked if it could compact folders. Said yes. Now all that shows is the title line for all emails in inbox, but NO content displayed.

Can still see content in emails that are in other folders, seems to be only inbox that will not show content of the emails

New emails arriving will show content as well as some old old emails in inbox

My COX email was transferred to Yahoo a few months ago. I followed the procedure outlined by COX and changed over to Thunderbird as I had used before. Everything worked great until the morning of August 18. I cannot receive or send email. I have tried contacting Yahoo who will not help me unless I subscribe to their Premium Technology package. I would really like to talk with someone from Thunderbird but have not found any help. HELP I cannot receive or send email

I am having trouble with my email flow of traffic. I can send out an email but I can't receive an email. I used to use this program so I am a returning client from Boardview Advertsing. I know very little about POP/IMAP things nor how to fix things. Is there any way I can speak with an actual person about this as I'm supposed to jump back in with Boardview Advertising, and apparently no one is receiving my emails.

I use both Thunderbird and Outlook for my cox.net email account. I can receive incoming emails using Thunderbird but cannot send emails, and I can both receive and send emails using Outlook. The server settings are identical for both Thunderbird and Outlook - imap with STARTTLS and port 993 and smtp with STARTTLS and port 587. When Thunderbird is unable to send an email, I get a balloon that indicates that the smtp server cannot recognize my email address, which is [email removed]@cox.net.

I am using windows 11 pro and until last night had been happily using Thunderbird with no problems. Suddenly i go to check my emails and every one of my email accounts have gone, vanished, dissapered. All i was left with was a screen saying to enter an email address as in setting it up from scratch. Any thoughts on why this has happened and has it happened to anyone else?

This is an issue that has cropped up many times in years past. Thunderbird really needs to fix it, rather than provide hacks. But for now, I'm using Windoze 11, Tbird 115.12.2 (32-bit) and it's up to date. I am not only using Microsoft native security software, i.e. no Norton antivirus and the like. I am not highly computer literate, but I have used Thunderbird for decades.

I recently updated Thunderbird. Currently now running 128.1.0esr (64-bit). The highlight colour (when I place the cursor on a message) is now a dark brown. I need to change this to another colour so that I can 'see' the text of the header. Have played with colours in Settings, General - these changes do not change the default highlight colour.     to enter our email which  has caused problems. Surely you should not have accepted our address in the first 
    place. I have not been able to find a way to cancel it on line.
