I'm an intern and my company recently made an email for me to ease communication. I open the account on my Thunderbird and I am able to receive the emails in inbox well but I could not send my email due to Outgoing server (SMTP) timed out. I already tried the steps I found on the internet such as ensuring the port is correct, excluding the app from the firewall, increasing the timed out from 100 to 300 and restarting the app and my laptop. I still received error in sending out messages. Please help. Below is my Outgoing server information. Do let me know if i need to provide extra information to assist in aid. Thank you in advance.

Expect Thunderbird to become an international software, currently Thunderbird computer side in the use of Chinese face the following problems: 1, the software interface is not fully Chinese 2, the mail editor does not support the first line of paragraph indentation support for Chinese, manual blank line two cells, but the other party received the e-mail display is not to achieve the effect of the first line of the indentation of two spaces. 3, now the mail editor is too old, there is no plan to upgrade the more modern and intuitive, the form of support is also quite weak and clumsy. My desk top computer died on me (blue screen). I have now purchased a new desktop but unable to set up Thunderbird Email on the new computer as Thunderbird is asking for a password which I have forgotten. There is no option in the set up to request new password. I am receiving emails on my phone 0438 728 647 and have just set a password to get to this step. Will that new password allow me to set up Thunderbird and access my stored emails as well as receive new emails. The old computer's hard drive is still readable, and my files are able to be transferred over. I am hoping my emails will transfer across as well?

Hello I finally got my email back but i have some questions i would like answered and fixed. if at all possible. First how do i remove the search bar at the top and also how do i remove the little alert that comes up on the bottom rright it is not the way i had it but id like it close if possible. I installed Thunderbird 136.0.1 for Windows this week to use with my Gmail/Google account. I'm loving the way it works and the fact that it interfaces with the Google calendars (even the birthday calendar driven by Google contacts) well. The address book seems a bit more inconsistent with syncing/updating and I'm trying to gain an understanding of how that works. If I add a contact the the address book in Thunderbird, it shows up in the web interface in Google contacts. However, If I delete a contact in the web interface, that contact is not removed from the Thunderbird address book. Am I just not being patient enough for the syncing to take place?

From time to time - and for reasons that I cannot discern - I get screens popping up from Google saying that it needs information or permission to access T-bird accounts. I have both gmail and other domain mail server accounts in T-bird.
Today, it's happening again. I can't seem to resolve the issue even though I've been through the process of providing requested information and permissions. I can't get T-bird to connect to servers to look for downloadable messages. This is a problem that is keeping me from using 2-step verification with several websites that I need to contact. I say that T-bird isn't connecting because the messages that normally appear when I request downloads do not appear at the bottom of my screen. The problem started with the first screen below and has now migrated to the second screen. I tried sending test email among my accounts, both gmail and others, but I cannot. As far as I can tell, T-bird is sending the messages to servers but not retrieving them, but I cannot be sure they were sent. As I was typing this sentence the second screen below popped up without my doing anything with email.
I don't recall what I've done in the past to resolve the issue. IIRC it has required different acts at different times. Today, nothing seems to work. If this continues, I'm going to have to find another email client after having used T-Bird for more than a decade.
Can someone please tell me how to get off this merry-go-round?

I can get my email by going through the AOL internet site, but nothing through Thunderbird. The previous update was 128.8.0esr installed on 3/7/2025, and that worked fine.

Trying to send (redirect) a Thunderbird message using Simple Mail Redirection results in an error: "Transaction failed Unauthorized sender address. 1M8Pmu-1u0qJD3qDo-000B18. Please check the message and try again." Is there a fix for this or is there a better add-on for redirecting multiple messages at a time?

I've just resumed using Thunderbird, with a new installation on a new computer, after a long period of having only my ISP's web interface. I'm having a problem with adaptive junk filtering: it thinks everything is junk until I tell it otherwise.
By default, it leaves putative junk messages in the Inbox, but displays a yellow ribbon above a junk message's preview with "Learn more" and "Not junk" buttons. In this configuration, having it assume everything new is junk is just a nuisance.
But eventually I will finish training it, and I'll want it to move junk to the Junk folder automatically. Then this behavior will be a disaster.
Using made-up numbers to illustrate, suppose I get 1000 messages per day. Of these, 998 are from addresses it recognizes, so it knows that 993 of them are junk and 5 are legitimate, because I've received email from those addresses before, and I've told it what to do with them. That leaves 2 messages which may or may not be junk.
It should leave those messages in the Inbox, preferably with some kind of warning, and let me decide whether they are junk or not. Instead it's going to move them to Junk, and I'll never know I got them unless I review all 995 new messages in the Junk folder... which would defeat the whole point of having a junk filter.
Is there a way to make the junk filter default to "not junk" when it doesn't know? I've looked at the configuration dialog, and I don't see one.
