I've been using Thunderbird for years and have never had this problem. Since the upgrade today, after I run Thunderbird once and close it I can no longer start it up again. I have to reboot or use Task Manager to kill it in order to run it. This is on Windows 11. Please help - not an acceptable workaround for long. Optionally, how do I downgrade to previous version? I should know better than allow automatic upgrades.

Adding a couple images below, when it has started successfully it shows as one of the Apps in Task Manager. When I close it, Thunderbird drops into the Background Processes but doesn't end. I have to kill it here in order to start it again.

I am running the latest software, Sonoma 14.3.1 on my Mac Mini and the Firefox browser 123.0.1 With the last couple of versions of Firefox , after selecting About Firefox, I received the error message "Failed to check for updates" This happened a few times. I was able to manually update to the newer versions. How can I rectify the situation. My Firefox preferences under the General Heading has check for updates selected.

Running 115.5.0 and want to export my contact list to be able to use it in a spreadsheet. The export function in the Tools dropdown only allows for export of "accounts, messages, address books and settings to a ZIP file." What happened to the ability to export just the address book separately to a csv file? Please help. Thank you.

I changed my Xfinity password on Xfinity website. Now I get error message on Thunderbird.saying my imap password is wrong. How can I change my imap and outgoing email passwords to match xfinity password.

On opening Tbird I have started getting a Google pop up asking me to sign in to Google to continue to Tbird. This is just annoying as I can access all my email accounts without signing in to Google. I just have to close the annoying pop up every time I open Tbird. How can I stop this happening?

I want to single space my out going messages. I changed the paragraph setting from body text to paragraph format, this temporarily fixed it but it went back to double spacing

up until a few months ago, Thunderbird opened jpg/jpeg images inline, that is in the message window. Instead I get an empty white box where the image SHOULD have displayed. The only option now available appears to open the attached image with PHOTOS which takes longer as Thunderbird has to call photos to load the image. Also it takes longer to actually display the image. So what happened?

My current work-around to this issue is to drag/drop the attached image to my photo editor which loads rather quickly. Much faster than photos.

Emails won't send on Thunderbird. I get this message: "Sending of the message failed. The message could not be sent because the connection to Outgoing server (SMTP) smtpauth.earthlink.net timed out. Your instructions for unthreading do not work. The commands you suggest do not appear in my "View" folder. And I do not want to unthreads many dozens of folders manually.

Please provide guidance on how to fix this, or I will have to abandon Thunderbird (which I have used loyally for many years) or work via the Gmail platform (ugh).

Since the big update I cannot read my messages in the message window without scrolling as I read each line. The message window is so small that I can only see about four lines of text at a time. I can't get the messages to open in a new window unless I click on them and choose "open in new window" even after setting them to open in a new window on their own.

The last update fixed the font on everything from being too big in spite of settings so now I can read a little more at a time. It's still very frustrating having to scroll constantly.

Ever since the last "upgrade" which is terrible I get my emails in threads. Does anyone know how to get rid of the stupid threaded messages? I've tried everything. All I want is emails to be listed in the order I received them. I DO NOT WANT THREADS
