Hello Thunderbird Community!

I have an issue that MANY people encounter nowadays, meaning having an old or current e-mail inbox online reaching it's maximal capacity...

I would like therefore to be able to:

1. Be able to download everything on my PC/Laptop - No problem with that, already done by the way

2. And then being able to delete 80% of the e-mails on the server - but NOT on my PC - and doing so directly VIA Thunderbid by selecting/filtering in one single operation these 80% of e-mails by stating for example: all e-mails received since the beginning until 6 months ago to be deleted but only on the online server NOT in my PC

In the end I will then have: - All my e-mails since the beginning still safely and forever on my PC - 80% of the received e-mails until 6 months ago removed from the online server and online inbox platform so as to get back again plenty of space

Two questions: 1. Is this possible? 2. How?

I have been given an email account as a board member of a local non-profit organization. I have tried but cannot get it to work in Thunderbird. It does, however, work on my Apple devices (iPad, iPhone & Watch). I'm missing important correspondence by not being able to get on my desktop. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I had problems with thunderbird email text too small. Resolved that but now the title line with subject to and from is too large. How do I change it. Windows 11 latest version of thunderbird.

Firefox continues to indicate I am using Windows 8. I have NEVER used Windows 8 in my liftetime. I use Windows 10 and after locating the program compatibility location to change to Windows 10, Windows 10 isn't an option. I changed my OS to 10 in your box below. Why? I don't understand this.

I have a Mac with Sonoma. Somehow a while ago I ended up with Firefox ESR, which I was told that will not be supported after September.

I am a non-technical user. While I do have Safari and Chrome, I would prefer to continue using Firefox.

Could you please let me know the steps to execute to somehow switch from the ESR version to the current normal version without loosing settings, bookmarks or ending up with problems? Thanks in advance.

The file-picker (when I choose any file related operation such as Open File, Save As, etc) on just one of my machines is far larger than my desktop size (and the window appears not to be resizable).

When I trigger any such operation I'm presented with what looks like a blank screen as I a shown part of the vast unused area of this oversized window. If I force my wm to allow me to move the window I can use the file picker with a lot of painful repeated scrolling around but otherwise it's unusable.

Any idea why firefox might be doing this or where it might have cached the file picker size? There doesn't appear to be anything related in about:config or userprefs.js

Starting up in trubleshooting mode doesn't have any effect on this.

The inbox had about 18 months worth of emails. I deleted three emails that had been flagged by Thunderbird as spam. Then I went to the trash folder and permanently deleted the trash that included many other unwanted emails.

When I returned to the inbox, the full list of emails was present but after clicking on any email there was no email content shown. A new email came in and the content was shown for that email.

The sent folder still shows all the sent emails.

After looking for solutions on the web, I selected the inbox, right clicked and opened properties. I then selected "Repair Folder". Now, the only email shown in the list is the new email that came in after the issues started.

I have looked for crash reports and it says there are no crash reports.

bold text4 or 5 years ago i simply synced TB and Firefox straight to my laptop from my desktop. Today it does not seem to work that way. Why has it gotten more complicated? I have all of my emails, address's and etc.saved profile and cannot seem to replace it. I tried the thunderbird.exe -p and it gets confusing there. Apparently it does not give one the option to replace profile like mine, but one can create one. I tried creating by entering my old Profile and it did not work. It says to use the Browse button which should bring you to the actual spot to add your profile. I do not see a 'Browser" button, but do see 2 separate folders buttons, but i do not know which to choose, if any. I have donated in the past when things were working smoothly, but discourged to add to it now with all these upgrade mess's. Like they say, "if it ain't broken, leave it alone..." s amd

when I try to click drop down menus on rpg mo, like settings/game options or anything in the gear drop down menu it wont let me click. I can't play rpg mo is there a reason for this like is it not html they are using but it works on windows? I am using suse linux leap.

My Get Messages is grayed out, how do I fix? Not downloading messages I searched the answers for this and tried what was suggested and now the Mail Toolbar is completely gone, the suggestion was to Restore Default setting and I did and now my Toolbar is completely gone

Two days ago Thunderbird no longer would send emails (been using it without problems for 7 years) I have read all the previous posts on this. Tried sending emails after disabling firewall and Malwarebytes without success. I can receive emails sent from my Spectrum email account (still works). I can send emails from my iPhone using the identical Outgoing Server Settings. The settings are in the screenshot. Also downloaded the latest version of Thunderbird today. Didn't fix it. To get around the problem right now is I am composing my emails (IMAP), saving them in my drafts and then sending them from my iPhone.Any ideas? Thank you!

I have a setup with my machine where I use different user accounts for different purposes as this helps me manage a large number of different applications and setups. I want to use the same Thunderbird profile for each of these users as I am the same physical person, these are logical users not different people, and therefore the profiles will never be in use simultaneously.

Research on the internet suggests that this can be done by copying the Thunderbird profile to a globally accesible directory and then using the Profile Manager to point profile.ini to the global profile. I have done this but when I try to launch Thunderbird from a different user I get a message box saying 'Thunderbird is already running, but it is not responding. The old Thunderbird process must be closed to open a new window.'. If I click on 'Close Thunderbird' the message reappears. I have confirmed in the Task Manager that the Thunderbird process is not running.

Strangely, if I launch Thunderbird from the command line version of the Profile Manager Thunderbird launches with the correct profile and appears to work fine. A forum post suggested deleting the parent.lock file in the profile and doing this does allow Thunderbird to launch with the correct profile but then I get error messages saying it could not load the message summary as it's too big.

I have looked at this link here but it's not clear what is meant by 'have each user "move it" using the profile manager'. There is no move option in the Profile Manager (as launched from the command line), just Create Profile, Rename Profile (which I've tried as another user with the same problem suggested) and Delete Profile.

Still waiting for help with my annoying thunderbird problem. Once you help me solve it, my donations will begin. The browser link in my incoming email stopped working about 3 months ago. I have to right click on the link, start my browser manually and paste the link. I've tried it with Firefox, Edge and Chrome (preferred) and none of them work.

The upgrade 115.3.1 (32-bit) is unsatisfactory to many people. For me, the worst part is the superhuge message display. I can't seem to be able to reduce the size/font of the displayed message. Other people seem to have the same problem on your "help" site. This kind of display makes it impossible to skim a major part of a message before deciding whether to open it or not. Can you please tell me if this can be fixed and/or if I can get back to the prior version of Thunderbird? Good morning Windows 10, TB 115.11.0 32 bit. Multiple email accounts, some gmail, others like sfr, lol and free. All accounts use POP. All working before weekend, shut down the PC. Monday morning, opened Windows, all seems there except TB which has a screen with an Account Setup tab inviting me to set up an existing email address. Close that tab and the attached screen image appears, open tabs blank, no accounts pane on the left, no emails, no local folders. Nuffin. Restart TB and Windows, twice, still Nuffin. Look in Profiles, yes, under Mail all profiles appear to be present and the correct size. Going to gmail’s on line email system shews account open and receiving email normally. I had a problem a month ago after a TB update when all accounts were present but no emails were displayed. I changed the password to 0auth and recovered my emails. That took three days to resolve and I lost a business client through the delay in responding. Today I must file several court documents or I shall be in deep poo. Any suggestions how to recover the left hand accounts pane and see the accounts and folders will earn my undying gratitude.

106.0.2 locks up Windows Explorer (Not Responding) on my Win 7 machine as soon as it starts. After restarting Explorer, it seems to continue working. I have seen this issue reported earlier.

I created a signature years ago. With the last Thunderbird update, the signature font (and image) shrunk in size. I would like the signature to match the font size of the message text, like it used to. I can't find any information about that, or any explanation as to why it shrunk.

I have a hotmail.com address. Until recently, it worked well as webmail, plus also from TB on laptop, via IMAP and SMTP.

A few days ago, the sending function via SMTP stopped working (not IMAP); and webmail is still fine. I've tried a lot to solve it, but to no avail.

My guess is that MS is to blame, but don't know how to reach someone better-than-hotline there.

Details see annex; OS is Win10, TB is 115.9

Would someone be familiar with this kind of problem? According to my traditional european quality idea, best should be to get in touch with an MS technician with access to the syslog, to hear what the system's response to connection attempts is - but this seems to be precluded? I wonder what alternatives there might be?
