I get infinite loops in Firefox from certain webpages. I tried Safe-Mode, and couldn't even get to the main site causing an infinite loop in Firefox (Apple Bug Reporter), but could get there in Chrome or Safari. I used Activity Monitor to Get Info for Firefox, and then took a Sample. There were 375 instances of "mac_plugin_interposing_child_OnShowCursor", along with 107 instances of "DumpCompleteHeap". This problem is occurring on three separate Macs running the same or different versions of Firefox. One is 10.5.8 (Leopard) with FF 16.0.1. The other two are Mac 10.6.8 and Mac 10.10.5, each running FF 41.0.2 (latest FF). This infinite loop has also occurred in at a kp.org site where I was trying to view a doctor's profile. I have a 1647 line Sample.Firefox.txt that shows what happened in Safe-Mode attempting to get to Apple Bug Reporter. That file is 217Kb in size, and I'm willing to attach it to an email to Mozilla.

I've had no problem with previous versions of Firefox. Since installing version 63.0.3, constant problems with crashing, hanging or loading homepage and websites extremely slowly. Sometimes loading of homepage cycles through two or three partial sequences before completing. Have tried all obvious recommended solutions without success, including safe mode, refresh and reinstall. Am using MacBook Pro 10.10.5 and BT as my home page. I use Safari as my other browser and it continues to run without any issues

I was trying to comment on an open thread but I keep getting an error. I've cleared cookies, etc.

This is the thread: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1048978?fpa=1#answer-preview

I keep getting this message:

"Oh, no! It looks like an unexpected error occurred. We've already notified the site administrators. Please try again now, or in a few minutes."

I also tried it using Safari w/the same results.

This has been going on for several hours.

For unrelated reasons, I did a clean reinstall of Mac OS 10.11.1 and downloaded a fresh copy of Firefox and several add ons: noscript, better privacy, a cookie manager and adblock plus. I notice that the issue persists. It occurs from multiple apps e.g. I often drag an untrusted url from an email in Apple Mail or from Facebook in Safari to the Firefox dock icon to open it in my more secure, locked down browser (Firefox).

If I leave my computer for longer than 10 minutes, instead of going to sleep (as it should) Firefox shuts down and the whole computer shuts down with it. Then, 15 minutes later, it will start the whole computer on its own! From another room, I can hear the distinctive F# Major chord that indicates "start up" in all Apple computers, When I return to my computer - say 3 hours later - I click the return key. Instead of waking up the computer (as it should), I hear the distinctive chord of Apple indicating "start-up" and the whole computer comes to life and access to Firefox is only through a box on the screen that says "Firefox has shut down. We're so sorry. Click on the box below to start your Firefox again" - or something to that effect. So that's what I do in order to get to work again. Why is it doing this? Grateful for your kind attention.

Since I started using my Mac system’s transparency option for menus en windows I noticed this in Firefox (see also attached images):

1. In the FF toolbar bookmark pull down menus the rendering of type is noticeably more bold and unsharp than in the menus coming from the system bar.

2. Bookmark images in the FF toolbar menus are much darker then those in the system bar menus (in a mouseover they become lighter again, more like they should be, but still darker).

The type becomes less readable (cluttered and unsharp), especially on dark backgrounds, apart from that the effect is ugly and unattractive. When transparency is turned off things look better, but the differences are still there. Safari and Chrome don’t have this issue.

I’m using a Cinema HD screen, not a retina screen.

Addition (my actual questions):

- Can someone confirm this issue?

- Is there a setting/userstyle that can correct this?

- Or can I report this as a bug?

Fan runs high & hot watching youtube videos. Have new macbook pro retina 15" mid 2015. 2.5 GHz intel core i7. Started happening after second to last Firefox update. Updated to most current thinking it would be fixed. It doesn't happen if I use Safari. Apple support senior lead tried to resolve issues. Sorry, I'm not very technical. Tried shift, control, option start. Tried option, command,R,P start. Tried logging on as a new user. Tried so many options, I can't remember them all. Uninstalled, reinstalled, and uninstalled again. ran disk repair(?). Followed Firefox troubleshoot all the way to the end. Started in Safe Mode...everything. She told me to contact Mozilla to see if you had any answers to my issues. I also had issues last week with Firefox crashing 3-4 times in a row while watching youtube. I sent reports to Firefox. I hope someone can help me. I prefer Firefox to Safari! Thank you!

See question above. This has happened with numerous updates -- data destroyed, passwords, formatting and add-ons and bookmarks are lost by the thousands. This has stopped us cold as a company, losing significant revenues and much labor time to try and repair.

Why the f*ck does Firefox think it is okay to destroy customers data, disrupt their business materially and leave the customer holding the bag WITH NO IN-PERSON LIVE SUPPORT AVAILABLE FROM FIREFOX/MOZILLA TO REMEDIATE THE NUMEROUS PROBLEMS THEY HAVE CAUSED. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE.

As a prompt to the "upgrade" to 46.0, Firefox has the nerve to ask the question: "Would you like to "freshen up" your Firefox?" HOW DARE THEY?

I FOR ONE WANT TO KNOW WHO AT FIREFOX IS ACCOUNTABLE FOR THIS!!!!

I EXPECT A PHONE CALL FROM THAT PERSON -- I HAVE CALLED INTO THEIR MOUNTAIN VIEW OFFICE THREE TIMES WITH NO RESPONSE AND I AM LOSING THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS AS OUR WHOLE TEAM WAS "UPGRADED" AT THE SAME TIME AND SO OPERATIONS JUST STOPPED.

COULD ANYONE IN THE SUPPORT GROUP WHO KNOWS THE ORGANIZATION, PLEASE PROVIDE A NAME AND CONTACT INFO INCLUDING PHONE FOR THE PERSON ACCOUNTABLE FOR THIS COMPLETE S***-SHOW.

THANK YOU.

About "Be Nice" .. not so nice below, BUT I AM SIMPLY FED UP WITH FIREFOX SCREWUPS ... YES, SWITCHING TO GOOGLE CHROME, BUT I NEED THIS FIXED TO GET MY DATA BACK AND EXPORT :

Once again ... Firefox has destroyed my bookmarks, add-ons etc. when I "updated" Firefox ... Macbook Pro OS X

in the past, I have cumulatively taken hours to fix this -- on 4-5 occasions of the SAME PROBLEM (read: unfixed by Mozilla/Firefox)

a) why cant Firefox get their stuff together? .. WHY DOESN'T MOZILLA/FIREFOX FIX THIS !!!!

b) do they think my time is free? how can they, getting paid for their software development, expect me to lose money away from my business every time I "upgrade" ... so presumptious, so offensive, so oblivious to its "clients"

c) I don't know of any ... any ... any .... any software developer that requires a user to fix it's software -- again sometimes taking hours, including trying to find Help like this Mozillla user "support" input -- after an "upgrade" ... simply unbelieveable, simply UNACCEPTABLE ... TO YOU FIREFOX PEOPLE OR ITS REPS ... WILL YOU PLEASE FIX THIS ISSUE AND GET WITH THE 21ST CENTURY? ....

d) WHERE IS THE “SUPPORT"? .. where is the IN PERSON support that is going to fix my computer after screwing up my long input data gathering with their so-called "upgrade" ???? Two things are for sure: 1) it's gonna get fixed and 2) I'm certainly not going to spend any more of my own time and lose money from my business to fix Firefox's programming screwups. DON’T KNOW OF ANY … ANY … ANY … ANY company that does not have IN-PERSON SUPPORT … software and its functions are complex .. they need to be supported through interpersonal interaction … every other company in the world knows this … why not Mozilla???? I just don’t get it.

e) For past and present, even this "help" note, where do I invoice Mozilla for my time lost? ... where headquarters? .. accounts payable?/ I assume one of the non-Mozilla, non-person reps knows the answer to this ... surely they don't expect me to lose money by way of their "upgraded" product.

f) As one of you reps sugggested last time this happened : "well you chose Firefox, ... if u don't like problems, go use another browser" ... gee, that's good customer support ... our product sucks so use another -- geez.

g) Indeed I now intend to use another, but I will first be satisfied by Mozilla/Firefox's restoration of my computer, cumulative time lost and literal restoration of data exactly as was before the "update", and the payment by Mozilla for all my time in trying to remediate this and if any data lost, the historical time used to cumulate and enter such data.

If anyone out there in the GREAT MOZILLA/FIREFOX ABYSS knows anything about their products and their continuing failures, please respond to my questions above.

I expect someone at Mozilla or a rep thereof to, for once, BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR THEIR FAULTY PRODUCTS AND CUMULATIVE STRESS BURDEN AND MONEY LOST BY CUSTOMERS.

I AM LOSING MONEY AS I SPEAK, AS I DON'T HAVE ACCESS TO MY BOOKMARKS WHICH I NEED AT-THE-READY WHEN WORKING ... SO … SOMEBODY, SOMEWHERE, FIX THIS NOW!! _________ Again, not so nice, but perhaps a reader can understand my ongoing frustrations. NOTHING PERSONAL TO ANY INDIVIDUAL PERSON. I AM ADDRESSING ORGANIZATIONAL ISSUES.

I am having trouble with the search bar on Yahoo's main page as of this afternoon. Yahoo is my homepage. When I first start Firefox, usually I can put something in to search on Yahoo, and hit "enter" and it works fine. But if I go back to Yahoo's main page (regardless of whether that is the back button, clicking the home button, or typing it in myself) and type something else in and hit "enter" or click the "Search Web" button . . . nothing happens. It's like the entire search feature is disabled once I revisit the page. Sometimes I don't even get the ability search right from the start.

I have restarted my computer, cleared my browser cache, and turned off hardware acceleration, as suggested for similar problems in other forums. None of those have solved the problem. The only add-on I ever run is Adblock and I have used it constantly, up until today, with no issues. Yahoo works fine in Firefox safe mode and I'm not having any problems with it at all in Safari, so I know there is not a problem with Yahoo's site itself.

I have Firefox 44.0 and am running Mac OS Yosemite 10.10. I prefer Firefox as my browser and Yahoo as my search engine, so please don't give me "fixes" that involve changing those things. I want it to work as it always has.

It works fine for maybe 2 hours and then it stops loading any website. My other browsers still work. I have to force quit Firefox to get it to load pages again. It stops responding when I just quit the app so I have to force quit it. I've tried all the troubleshooting steps: Changing proxy, enabling/disabling firewall etc. but none of it seem to work. It's really annoying at this point! Any help?
