Spam Bypass Not Working

I just installed the latest Thunderbird 146.0 Win 11.

Configured my server data and Spam settings, etc. Mail coming in and going out OK.

Now I see some messages in the Spam filter that are not Spam. So I click on "Not Spam" button, and the message goes into my Inbox. Great. But after 3-4 seconds, the message is thrown back into the Spam box. I've told it 10 times "Not Spam" and each time it gets moved to the Inbox. Then 3-4 sec later it gets thrown back to the Spam box.

What am I doing wrong? Am I missing a setting?

I have had an online newspaper subscription for quite awhile and suddenly the paper stopped coming, soon after I had paid for another year. I emailed the company and they said to "check my spam folder" but I want all spam to come to my inbox so I can see if it is really spam. I also got emails from a scrapbook company I buy from frequently and those emails have stopped coming also. I am wondering why those emails are no longer coming through, and if there are other emails that also are no longer arriving that should be coming to me. And how to get them to come again? The newspaper is Casper Star Tribune <trib.com> from Casper Wyoming The scrapbook company is Echo Park Paper Co <Echoparkpaper.com> Thank you for your help it is much appreciated,

I am requesting immediate assistance with a critical and persistent problem in Thunderbird.

For my Google Workspace account max@dantanas.com

, Thunderbird refuses to create or recognize a Junk/Spam folder. This is not a cosmetic issue — it directly affects email safety, filtering, and daily usability.

Summary of the Issue

Thunderbird does not automatically create a Junk or Spam folder for this account.

Attempts to manually create a Junk or Spam folder fail or are ignored.

Thunderbird’s junk filtering settings for this account are disabled or inaccessible, making filtering impossible.

Other clients (Gmail web, Outlook, mobile apps) create and use a Spam folder normally, which shows the problem is specific to Thunderbird.

This problem has persisted across restarts, folder repairs, and full account removal/re-addition.

Why This Is Critical

Without a Junk/Spam folder, Thunderbird cannot move suspected spam anywhere, leaving the inbox vulnerable.

The built-in adaptive junk filter becomes unusable.

Thunderbird does not comply with Gmail’s standard IMAP folder structure.

This issue prevents Thunderbird from functioning as a secure, reliable mail client for this account.

Steps Already Attempted

Removed and re-added the account multiple times.

Up until today I have been able to send emails(with attachments) from my laptop to my cell phone. Now when I want to send an email I receive an error message saying" An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded:(VO-1)Message blocked due to spam content in the message. Please check the message and try again. I tried several times since and the same result. Thank you.

I need assistance with a very specific Thunderbird issue.

I use Thunderbird with multiple email accounts. Every one of them has a functioning Junk/Spam folder except for one: my Google Workspace account max@dantanas.com

. This is the only account where Thunderbird refuses to create or recognize a Junk/Spam folder, and the option to assign one is disabled.

I am not looking for general explanations about IMAP, Gmail, filters, server policies, or Thunderbird’s junk logic. I need a concrete, step-by-step procedure that results in:

A visible, usable Junk/Spam folder for max@dantanas.com

inside Thunderbird.

Thunderbird recognizing that folder as the Junk folder.

The Junk settings becoming available so the account can move spam to that folder like all my other accounts do.

To be clear:

All my other accounts in Thunderbird already have functional Junk/Spam folders.

The problem is isolated to this one account.

In the past, there was a command among the various sets of commands at the top of the page, which removed all of them, after confirming that this is what I wished to do. I keep receiving the same or similar spam emails which I have already marked as Junk. I assumed that by doing so, Thunderbird would 'know' to send those directly to the Junk folder, but these emails still appear in my Inbox. How to train T'bird so that new emails I have previously marked as Junk automatically go to the Junk folder (it would then be up to me to check this folder if needed)?

I have a Macbook air, T'bird shows up to date (v. 140.5.0esr (aarch64), Junk settings: Enable adaptive junk mail controls for this account, Move new junk messages to: "Junk" folder on Local folders. Many thanks.

Emails from those that are in my addressee book are being sent to the Spam/Junk folder and I am having to go through that folder and get back to the inbox. I have marked them as "Not Spam" for weeks, but they still continue to end up in that box. Even messages from President Trump and Western Journal are being sent to the Spam/Junk folder. I don't know what you did to the algorithm, but it really messed up my incoming emails. Please fix your algorithm or delete it and allow the users to set the trend for which are Spam/Junk and which are good emails.

For years now, every time I get a suspicious email claiming to be from Breezeline, I FORWARDed it AS ATTACHMENT, and it's gone on its way with no problem.

    For the last three suspicious emails, when I FORWARDed it AS ATTACHMENT, I get a message that it failed to send because the notice has spam in it: it's labeled VO-1.
    My first question is: how do I FORWARD AS ATTACHMENT a notice that is spam when Thunderbird won't send the FORWARD AS ATTACHMENT because it has spam in it?
    My second question is: Do you solve this problem, or do I have to communicate with someone else?

When I try and "Compact" my trash folder, I get the following error message: "The folder 'Trash on redacted@gmail.com' could not be compacted because writing to folder failed. Verify that you have enough disk space, and that you have write privileges to the file system, then try again."

There is plenty of disk space, but there is no option for "write privileges". The trash folder has grown to 632 MgB even though I keep deleting old messages from the trash folder!

Installed Thunderbird 145 (64 bit) on my windows laptop and didn't add any add-ons or theme! I moved from outlook to thunderbird hoping to have a better experience. Aside connecting thunderbird to the mail server, I also converted my former .pst email file into thunderbird file so that I can have access to my former emails. I have problems with some emails that keep cropping in my mail box even though I delete them!! I keep removing them and / Or putting them in the trash but they keep coming!!!

My emails go out and in successively but this problem is giving me a headache and increasing the trash folder. Troubleshooting mode seems to fix it, but as soon as I restart thunderbird, those recurring emails come back!! pls advise what to do next??
